Mickey Rooney died Sunday April 6, 2014, at age 93 surrounded by family at his North Hollywood home, the Los Angeles County Coroner's office said Rooney died a natural death. He was shooting the movie "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" with Margaret O'Brien, at the time of his death.

I started going to the pictures in Adelaide South Australia in the 1950's, as well as Abbott and Costello who I could not stand after sitting thru the full seven minutes of Who's on First, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who%27s_on_First%3F) who were on shaky ground after only a few outings in any case.

And such classics as King Solomon's Mines which had full coverage of the Zulu coming of age ceremony, with thousands of teenage girls dancing bare breasted, and the super classic science fiction opus Forbidden Planet, Mickey Rooney was part of the cinematic furniture.

No matter what the main feature was good ol' Mickey turned up on screen, he was a natural from day one and oh boy he showed it.The casting and audition processors who decided the fates of thousands of aspiring actors, granted Mickey the number one ticket.

He was cast as a judge's son in an age where Bolshevism, Beatnikism and Rock and Roll were having an impact on everyone's lives, and Norman Mailer and Jack Kerouac were flagging the way for counter culture and "Gonzo" journalism, Mickey was flying the flag for hard work and honesty.

He always got the girl and if any of his co workers ever tried to steal a scene at any time, his scornful glance was enough to put 'em in their place, his wardrobe was better than everyone else's, while the story lines that started out bad got worse.

Elvis Presley movies were at the same time, his debut role in the Western Classic Love Me Tender was his best performance, and just as EP's later movies which were choreographed by Hollywood panhandlers out to make a buck, destroyed his opportunity to be the world's best actor.

So was Mickey's remarkable talent wasted on second rate scripts and fourth rate movies, one particularly horrid affair began with him sitting on a train in his check suit, pulling all sorts of grotesque faces .. if he did it today he would be arrested .. then some great lookin' babe approaches and he tells her he is doing his eye exercises.

It was an insult to be presented with that sort of material, all kinds of ppl tell you all kinds of things most of that is bullsh*t as well, http://s60.radikal.ru/i169/1003/f7/5dbc426c4403.gif .. a cruise missile slammed into the Pentagon on 911, says it was an inside job.

Plenty of ppl decry the same evidence .. Mickey Rooney's movies were painful, his stage career dispelled and doubts anyone could have had about his enormous talent!
