Thought this might be a good idea for a thread considering the types of discusssions we have and the amount of material we 'borrow' from authors of other web sites.

Here's one from the good ole UK. Royalty laws go hand-in-glove with the copyright laws. I once heard, however, that you can freely use many works otherwise protected if it is for non-profit productions or performances, but I don't find that fact among these things. Perhaps it is codified at the state level?

Yo, igwt, remember, you can use anything you want for "parody or comment" = isn't that all we do here, anyway?
