The former Mayor of Washington DC was recently robbed at gun point by youth who helped him with his groceries. It was horrific for this act to happen, but the first thing out of the mouth of the former Mayor was the need for you guessed it, gun control. I guess in his mind this was the easy thing to due instead of him advocating for the City Council to allocate more money for recreation and job training programs for youth. Washington DC has one of the harshes gun control laws in the United States. A law abiding DC resident is not allowed to have a gun. Judging by the high homicide rate and this incident, a criminal has easy access to a gun. My question is why punish law abiding citizens for the actions of criminals?
