The Day America Died

Although Bush calls for an "expansion of freedom," the world is not yearning after the "country of freedom," the United States, any longer. New evidence of a decline of the United States in every sphere has been confirmed.

From the editorial staff

"Since Newsweek is an American magazine, why would it tell us of problems with Bush?" we are occasionally asked in an ironic tone. However, we do not take sides, but only analyze the meaning of events from various viewpoints. Perhaps this has led to misunderstandings.

What have Americans lost due to the Bush administration in the last four years, and what will the world lose in the next four years? Verified facts, not opinions from any viewpoint, are laid forth in the special report in this issue.

America / The ideals of the second term, and the world's reality

In his second inaugural address, President Bush held forth a vision of expansion of freedom. But from the current disorder in Iraq, it is plain that concrete proposals are more important than ideals. Whether or not Bush can make a contribution to history turns on this point.

Viewpoint / America's dreams fall into ruin

The era in which every corner of the globe yearned for the freedom and equality of America has ended. The brightness of the American dream has faded, while the influence of anti-American sentiment, and the EU, has grown. We examine the cause of this decline in politics, the economy, and foreign policy.

Telecommunication / The IP revolution will eliminate telephone lines

In the 130 years since Graham Bell's invention, "one telephone call, one circuit" has been the accepted norm, but now a huge paradigm shift has occurred. It is only a matter of time before IP telephony, transmitting and receiving voice data via a network, becomes a global standard.

Don't forget Semiramis. Read the Revelations on the whore that sits upon many waters and then think awhile. We are in Babylon the Great.

Newsweek is wrong. America is not dead. America is an idea. Ideas don't die.

As for George W. Bush, he's a drunken psychotic who's stumbled onto the American stage with his group of fellow psychotics. He and they are a danger to the entire planet!

What will the American people do about GWB?

Stand by! Not all Americans are passive and stupid!

the above image may be inappropiate in your mind, but it is what America has become in my mind, I've seen this type of recklessness of teenhood for so long, it does'nt seem to be changing any either, now its ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS who are flooding the place with this reckless behavior, thats why I say we're on the verge of total collapse within 10 years I think. And lets not point the finger at whose fault it is, the fact of the matter is EVERYONE is responsible for their own Destiny, nobody forces you to destroy your life or country, We are responsible for letting the Coward,Traitors, leeches in Congress and the White House,Both Democrats and Republicans have sold America down the river. My only hope is for this Rotten System to collapse, maybe just maybe before that Americans will realize the ERRORS of their ways. And don't think for a moment that you foreigners are IMMUNE to the coming disasters, In fact your going to be effected far worse than America will. It was President Reagan who said we could suffer a total collapse of our economy and still be 10 times better off than any country in the world. Lets hope thats true.

No, it was a blatant lie or an ignorant analysis.
America and some other modern countries are built upon a system, which needs to be fuelled and maintained by depression, fear, gluttony, oil, blood, law and money. If America were to shut down, it would be like a broken refrigerator, with all its contents rotting.
Some other countries are built upon a different system, where modern commodities are not so heavily relied upon. However, the third world countries would most likely be the most dangerous places to be, as warlords and the like would take up the reigns and attempt to create their own dynasties.
Were all in this together.

And which countries are these Dominio? You know as well as I do when things shut down due to a Major disater worse than 9/11 (nuclear bomb) for example the world will plunge into darkness and chaos, not because I say so, but because the Bible says so, However if you have some facts to back up your claim that some countries will fare better, then please tell which ones?

Yes because we all know that the Bible is of course the greatest non-fiction book ever produced, right?

Like LaDominio said, there are countries out there who don't rely on out modern conveniences and would definately survive better than most of the West.
Shut down electricity, gas and petrol pumps for a week in America and see how people get on.

They'd be going nuts.
