Considering that one e-mail in the open might be damaging, a proactive stance is understandable. Let's just hope that they show probable cause to the courts at some point. What I don't understand is how they hope to decipher an embedded message; with all of the high-tech ways to hide text and images, it would take a lot of time and power to crack them.
Also, how many live drops and e-drops do you think there are on the Net? Suppose I pirated an image from an innocent site, and then used that image to embed information to be downloaded by my contact? No one would be able to trace it back to me, unless my e-traffic was watched.
