Kind of hard to believe that from Manly when the nation was founded by a bunch of Gentlemen farmers whose main concern was to keep their tea tax free.
Seriously, the founding fathers initialy wanted to have a friendly cesation from Great Britain and would have been happy to have a mutual cooperation pact with them. It was only after the British rejected their overtures that they need to get financial support from France and Spain and in order to do that they had to show more militant intentions, ergo the Declaration of Independence.
The whole notion of manifesdestiny was only dreamt up by the yellow press in order to build readership numbers.
If you are interested in the subject, a very good little book:
"The True History of the American Revolution" by Sydney George Fisher
The True History of the American ... - Google Book Search (http://books.google.com/books?hl=en&id=1QcOAAAAIAAJ&dq=true+history+of+the+american+revolution+fisher&printsec=frontcover&source=web&ots=cEbQkqzzPk&sig=9L1OviV2nAZtrIAqSmr1FCz8Q2Q)
The whole thing (U.S.A.) was a fluke, an unintended consequence. It took a few decades for evil empire UK to put things back to (their) order

from the book;
"" 11 THE OBJECTIVE OF THE SECRET SOCIETY
One reference to a secret society in Bacon's New Atlantis is scarcely less than a proclamation
of the Society of Unknown philosophers, but has gone unnoticed for three hundred years. ...
This fable is of the land of Bensalem, meaning the Son of Peace, which with its merchandise,
the Light of Truth, maintained a trade with Atlantis, which was declared to be the same
as America. ... Every thing indicates that it was Sir Francis Bacon's dream
that the enlarging of the bounds of human empire should be instituted on our own continent,
an area peculiarly set aside by Nature for the perfection of philosophy and the sciences. ""
I have a comment about this part..."" but has gone unnoticed for three hundred years.""
The way that is phrased, one would think that an "oops", had taken place, when in fact
that tidbit was intentionally overlooked by the powers that be, because, when it is out of
the public mind then people forget which is an easy thing to do, if you have willing
accomplices keeping certain information from getting "aired out" on a regular basis.
This kind of "oops" has happened to us so many times it would not be believed that
these books were even real, if the story were told to a typical american today.
