When a member of a forum is banned, why do they keep the threads of that person up?

They banned me over at ATS, yet my thread are still going, and people are responding to me, yet I can't answer. A couple of my threads are in the top search section.

Since I authored the threads, is it right they are selling advertising on threads that I am no longer able to participate in?

It's a form of psychological torture.

Dunno how it works here, but generally it's expected for folks to pay attention to who they are trying to talk to, or that a forum member will explain the matter.
Generally, the posts are left there so other people can read them, removing the posts would also remove the reason the person gets banned, and some people manage some good work before getting themselves banned.

Yeah even if I perma ban someone from here I wouldn't delete their threads. Seems weird that they'd ban you if you are generating content that people want to talk about on their forum.
