Cars stolen in U. S, used in suicide attacks in Iraq!

That's right. You read the title correctly.
Cars are being stolen in the U. S. and then shipped over to Iraq, where they are used in suicide bombing missions -- allegedly by "insurgents".
And this time it's not us fellow conspiracy nuts making the claim -- the conlcusion has been reached by the FBI's own counterterrorism unit!

Cars stolen in US used in suicide attacks

The FBI's counterterrorism unit has launched a broad investigation of US-based theft rings after discovering some vehicles used in deadly car bombings in Iraq, including attacks that killed US troops and Iraqi civilians, were probably stolen in the United States, according to senior US Government officials.

The FBI's deputy assistant director for counterterrorism, Inspector John Lewis, said the investigation did not prove the vehicles were stolen specifically for car bombings in the Middle East, but there was evidence they were smuggled out of the US by organised criminal networks that included terrorists and insurgents.

Cracking the car-theft rings and tracing the cars could help identify insurgent leaders and shut down one of the means used to attack the US-led coalition and the Iraqi Government, the officials said.

The inquiry began after coalition troops raided a Falluja bomb factory last November and found a Texas-registered four-wheel-drive being prepared for a bombing mission. Investigators said there were several other cases where vehicles evidently stolen in the US wound up in Syria or other Middle Eastern countries and ultimately in the hands of Iraqi insurgent groups, including al-Qaeda in Iraq.

Investigators believed the cars were stolen by local car thieves in US cities, then smuggled to waiting ships at ports in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Houston, among other cities. Terrorism specialists said they believed Iraqi insurgents preferred American stolen cars because they tended to be larger, blended in more easily with US convoys, and were harder to identify as stolen.

...Ain't that the truth...I just hope the FBI is ready to accept the possibility that this could be an "inside job".

Since no one responded to this, I will...
How much you wanna bet that some neocon authoritarian type gets in front of the media at some point in the near future and claims this story "demonstrates just how big Al Qaeda really is, and this is why we need even more Homeland Security.."?
And the sheeple swallow it down in one big gulp.

Does anyone wish to ask the obvious question...

If you are U.S covert ops...why would you bring stolen U.S cars ALL THE WAY from said geographical position to use in your above aforementioned covert op...WHEN...just to the North East lies the Balkans...the car stealing capital of the world where all the nice Mercedes stolen from Germany end up.

Or, why not just buy one from Syria and frame them! Or a million other scenario's rather than providing evidence that you are the culprit to further stir up trouble.

Well, all I can say to this is that if our customs services at the ports are so pathetic as to allow grand theft auto rings to ship out cars en masse...

We have more problems then that they ended up in Iraq.

Something is up. This intrigues me for some reason. I might have overlooked this thread, except when I really got to reading the article, something doesn't add up.

I thought of that, too...but what does Dr. Henry tell us when any story makes it to the mainstream media? They want us to know for some reason.
Or is it just a coincidence that the worm has turned and now it's open season on Bushco?
:-?

Looks like they found a use for the old Ford Pintos.
