Nixon's mistake was he wanted to shut down the Federal Reserve, and bring back the Abraham Lincoln Greenback Currency, which would've FIXED the economic crisis, and had he succeeded, we wouldn't be anywhere NEAR the bad shape we're in NOW. But the people who started and ran the Fed, made sure Nixon was framed for some other unforgivable sin (Watergate), that would see his impeachement.

He didn't resign willingly. He was given an ultimatum.

At least they allowed him to LIVE, unlike JFK, who also was going to close down the Fed. Five bullets in the head from different angles sure did a good job to silence him.

Oh, but wait! Harvey Oswald shot JFK! *Hysterical Laughter*

I guess that's why Obama hasn't made any moves towards shutting down the Fed, which would FIX everything overnight. Cancel ALL debts. Start printing money for Americans, Interest free! That's exactly how Lincoln did it, and it worked fantastic! It could again. That's what HAS to happen to repair all the damage that's been done to America, and the world.

If Obama even hinted at such an idea, he'd be bumped off very quickly.
