INTEGRAL TRADITION Revolt against the modern world CONSERVATIVE REVOLUTION

http://www.geocities.com/integral_tradition/

This website is dedicated to those philosophers and thinkers who are adherents of the Perennial Philosophy, or Sophia Perennis.

The title says it all: it's pro-Tradition, anti-Modern.

There's an immense amount of information here, all of which is highly important if we are to seriously break the bonds of the NWO, Communism, Luciferianism etc.

I have read almost nothing on this site, but I have read some of the people whose articles are posted here. I can warmly recommend anything of these writers:

Frithjof Schuon, René Guénon, Martin Lings, Seyyed Hossein Nasr, Tage Lindbom, Julius Evola, Ananda K. Coomaraswamy, Rama Coomaraswamy.

I can honestly say that to the best of my knowledge these men concern themselves with the Truth, the whole Truth and nothing but the Truth - no matter how politically incorrect, painful, ugly or uncomfortable.

They are all men of God in one form or another; Hindu, Muslim, Sufi, Christian.

The ideas of these men with their deeper, transcendent understanding give a perspective from much higher up; like an eagle looking down from above sees a still photograph, while its prey watches trees and landscapes fly past as it tries to get away.

As a teaser you find an introduction below. Enjoy! If you can. ;-)

THE CRISIS OF THE MODERN WORLD, GLOABLISM, THE NEW WORLD ORDER AND KALI YUGA

THE REVOLUTION AND THE CRISIS OF THE MODERN WORLD
"Any historical prospect reveals that, just as man civilizations know, after a dawn and a development, a decline and an end. Some tried to discover the law which governs such a destiny, the cause of the decline of civilizations. This cause could never be brought back to purely historical factors and naturalists." (Julius Evola, Revolt Against the Modern World)
"There are diseases that incubate for a long time and become manifest only when their hidden work has almost ended. This is the case of man's fall from the ways of what he once glorified as civilization par excellence. Though modern men have come to perceive the West's bleak future only recently, there are causes that have been active for centuries that have contributed to spiritual and material degeneration. These causes have not only taken away from most people the possibility of revolt and the return to normalcy and health, but most of all, they have taken away the ability to understand what true normalcy and health really mean." (Julius Evola in Revolt Against The Modern World)
"This present "civilization"... has brought to all strata of society and to all races the following "gifts": restlessness, dissatisfaction, resentment, the need to go further and faster, and the inability to possess one's life in simplicity, independence, and balance. Modern civilization has pushed man onward; it has generated in him the need for an increasingly greater number of things; it has made him more and more insufficient to himself and powerless." (Julius Evola in Revolt Against The Modern World)
We live among ruins in a World in which "god is dead" as Nietzsche stated. The ideals of today are comfort, expediency, surface knowledge, disregard for one’s ancestral heritage and traditions, catering to the lowest standards of taste and intelligence, apotheosis of the pathetic, hording of material objects and possessions, disrespect for all that is inherently higher and better - in other words a complete inversion of true values and ideals, the raising of the victory flag of ignorance and the banner of degeneracy. In such a time, social decadence is so widespread that it appears as a natural component of all political institutions. The crises that dominate the daily lives of our societies are part of a secret occult war to remove the support of spiritual and traditional values in order to turn man into a passive instrument of dark powers. The common ground of both Capitalism and Socialism is a materialistic view of life and being. Materialism in its war with the Spirit has taken on many forms; some have promoted its goals with great subtlety, whilst others have done so with an alarming lack of subtlety, but all have added, in greater or lesser measure, to the growing misery of Mankind. The forms which have done the most damage in our time may be enumerated as: Freemasonry, Liberalism, Nihilism, Capitalism, Socialism, Marxism, Imperialism, Anarchism, Modernism and the New Age. Each of these creeds - materialist at base - is philosophically wrong and discredited in practice. Our definition of modern and modernism has nothing to do with what may be 'new or in the shape of the present', instead, what is here defined as modern, is that which is cut off from the Divine, the Transcendant, or the 'Supernatural', everything that does not refer to - and is isolated from - "the immutable principles which govern everything and which are known to man through revelation." (S. H. Nasr)
The French Revolution of 1789 which was effect of the ideas on which modern society is based upon was only one markable eruption of this development towards annihilation. It was the primary event which thrust philosophical materialism from under surface onto the world stage. In the intervening two centuries, the power of Organized Naturalism in all its diverse forms - that is to say, the systematic tendency to deny in theory and practice the reality of Soul and Spirit - has grown steadily to the point that it now threatens to engulf the entire world.
"The disappearance of conscious personality and the turning of feelings and thoughts in a definite direction, which are the primary characteristics of a crowd about to become organized, do not always involve the simultaneous presence of a number of individuals on one spot. Thousands of isolated individuals may acquire at certain moments, and under the influence of certain violent emotions--such, for example, as a great national event -- the characteristics of a psychological crowd." (Gustave Le Bon)
"The idea that institutions can remedy the defects of societies, that national progress is the consequence of the improvement of institutions and governments, and that social changes can be effected by decrees...was the starting point of the French Revolution, and the social theories of the present day are based upon it. The most continuous experience has been unsuccessful in shaking this grave delusion ... institutions are the outcome of ideas, sentiments, and customs, and...are not to be recast by recasting legislative codes. A nation does not choose its institutions at will any more than it chooses the colour of its hair or eyes. Institutions and governments are the product of the race. They are not the creators of an epoch, but are created by it." (Gustave Le Bon)

"The civilization of the modern West appears in history a veritable anomaly: among all those which are known to us more or less completely, this civilization is the only one which has developed along purely material lines and this monstrous development, whose beginning coincindes with the so-called Renaissance, has been accompanied, as indeed it was fated to be, with a corresponding intellectual regress; we say corresponding and not equivalent, because here are two orders of things between which there can be no common measure. This regress has reached such a point that the Westerners of today no longer know what pure intellect is; in fact they do not even suspect that anything of the kind can exist; hence their disdain, not only for eastern civilization, but also for the Middle Ages of Europe, whose spirit escapes them scarcely less completely. How is the interest of a purely speculative knowledge to be brought home to people for whom intelligence is nothing but a means of acting on matter and turning it to practical ends, and for whom science, in their limited understanding of it, is above all important in so far as it may be applied to industrial purposes ?" (Rene Guenon, East and West)

KALI YUGA AND THE IRON AGE
The modern world has case broken away from all historical awareness whereas "traditional" structures, for example the Greco-Roman or the Irano-Indian, were organized on the basis of their awareness of their own belonging, belonging that is, to the "eternal" unchanging cycles of human history. The Ancient World at the time of Plato was aware of everything recurring in history. The modern world has put an end to every traditional order and has replaced it with chaos. The individualism of modern societies, which are without Tradition, accepts neither that people are unequal nor that Authority and Hierarchy as such defy analysis.
In "Works and Days" Hesiod divided time into five ages:--the Golden age, ruled by Cronos, when people lived extremely long lives 'without sorrow of heart'; the Silver age, ruled by Zeus; the Bronze age, an epoch of war; the Heroic age, the time of the Trojan war; and lastly the Iron age, the corrupt present. This is similar to Hindu and Buddhist concepts of the Kali Yuga. The idea of a Golden Age has likewise had a profound impact on western thought. The characteristic of the modern Age, which can be equated with the "Age of Iron", the "Kali Yuga", outlines and forseen in nearly all pre-modern societies, is the loss of identity and the rise of collectivism, a characteristic of Bolshevist and Western societies alike.
De Maistre explained that savage peoples are not primitive peoples in the sense of original peoples, but rather the degenerated and/or degenerating remains of ancient peoples that have disappeared. In contrary to the evolutionary dogma animal species clearly show the degeneration of primordial man’s potential. Julius Evola wrote: “These unfulfilled or deviant potentials manifest themselves as by-products of the true evolutionary process that man has led since the beginning. For this reason, ontogenesis, the biological history of the individual, does not repeat in any way the process of phylogenesis, the presumed evolutionary history of the species, but passes again through some eliminated possibilities. It stops to roughly outline them and then moves beyond, subordinating these possibilities to the superior and specifically human principle, which is defined and fulfilled little by little in the development of the individual.”
If anything characterizes our times, it is a sense of pervading chaos. In every field of human endeavor, the windstorms of change are fast altering the ways we live. Contemporary man is no longer anchored in certainties and thus has lost sight of who he is, where he comes from and where he is going. We are now living in an age of increasing strife and chaos. Almost every nation of the West has entered a dangerous age of mediocrity, weakness, and decline. Europe has fallen and brought its destructing forces to the whole world. The whole World faces a profound crisis. The so called progress and the development of mankind have brought us to a point near the end.
That "no more tradition's chains shall bind us" is one of the fundamental ideas of socialist/progressivist thinking. Man must be freed from tradition. Reason is to be the guiding light. The devil can cite scripture for his purposes. Reason can often be used to support any position. If men and women are freed from tradition, the experiences of history and the family environment, they can be manipulated and used by ideological and religious leaders, eccentrics and maniacs. If tradition declines, ideologues can mould and influence individuals.

THE NEW WORLD ORDER AND GLOBALISATION
The process of building the "new world order", at the centre of which stand the political-financial oligarchic groups of the West, is called as globalisation. The victims of this process are the sovereign states, the national cultures, the religious doctrines, the economic traditions, the manifestations of social justice, the surrounding environment - every spiritual, intellectual and material variety on the planet. The term "globalism" in the customary political lexicon means just "unipolar globalism", i.e. not the fusion of the different cultures, social-political and economic systems into something new (as this would be "multi-polar globalism", "eurasist globalism"), as the imposition of Western stereotypes upon mankind.
The type of world under construction was implicit in the history of imperialism and capitalism since the Second World War. The sudden and apparent collapse of Communism as the dominant and official political ideology in Eastern Europe was quickly heralded as proof of the technical superiority of Capitalism and Liberal Parliamentary Democracy, not only over State Socialism, but over all other political philosophies. From this background, the moral superiority of the current Western political order was also assumed, not by a process of rational and informed debate, but by simply stating it as axiomatic, as something which did not need to be discussed since it was 'self-evident'. But it has not been enough to dismiss the great thinkers and leaders of two millennia by whom Europe was originally formed and moulded as irrelevant to education in the modern world, except in a purely historical sense. It has also become necessary to create a sustained campaign against any manifestation of what might be regarded as 'anti-liberal' or 'anti-modern' thought.
Current political debate has become increasingly focused on matters on minor importance while issues of greater significance are not given a public airing.
There has been a steady internationalization of capital leading to the growth of the multinational corporations and the international banks to a stage where their power is organized through international institutions- the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the General Agreement On Tariffs And Trade forums and the European Economic Community bureaucracy. The forces of global capital have created political ‘clubs’ such as the Trilateral Commission and the Bilderberger Group. In Australia we have the Committee For The Economic Development Of Australia. We are witnessing before our eyes the emergence of a transnational class. This group has no allegiance to any ‘Western’ state, to any race or cultural identity. It is beyond the structures of international politics as have developed over centuries. The ownership of capital is not the sole entry ticket to membership of this class. Service in politics, management, the arts, academia or in certain professions, will win admission.
The "values" of the transnational class are economic. In the free-market of goods and ideas, a New World Order of plenty and peace will be built. All countries, all peoples are welcome to "join". All barriers to the movement of money and people will come down. Philosophies and religions will all become aspects of a cultural pluralism which can be ‘chosen’ by people on the basis of taste. Like a new Roman Empire, all is permissible if loyalty is rendered unto Caesar.
This New World Order was proclaimed the moment the old Eastern Bloc disintegrated. It is obvious that there are peoples who are not part of this Order. The Chinese superpower is not a member of the club; nor is India, and Russia remains unwelcome. The Islamic world cannot be part of a system that directly involves Zionism. African countries scarcely count at all. This does not mean that these lands are not penetrated by international capital, nor that they don’t contain sectors who would dearly welcome globalism. It does not mean that cheap labour countries are not exploited to provide cheap products – or immigrants to the factories of the home-bases of the NWO. The fact that whole areas of the globe are outside this system means that its claim to political normality is a basic lie. It must thence rely upon the impact of economic globalisation for its power.
In the struggle against the New World Order it is necessary to appreciate the presence of peoples and states outside of it, and possibly opposed to it. Not all these forces are fulsome or even conditional friends. Some are eying Australia also as an open-land available for possible settlement. Yet, in the world of realpolitik, facts are facts and it is necessary to surrender to the facts. It is obligatory that we mobilize our ideological weapons to win allies where we can, or to disintegrate or damage those structures imposed upon any people by the new Order. We must weaken this system.
This means we understand that if we demand national freedom for ourselves, we cannot repudiate it for others. We must favour national independence struggles. We must accept the genuine plurality of cultures and peoples, as opposed to the false pluralism of liberal-internationalism, which seeks to standardize humanity and culture. We must encourage armed neutrality against alien blocs and support - even critically - any regime bullied by the new Order.

The Sophia Perennis and Neo-spiritualism by Frithjof Schuon

The Sophia Perennis and Neo-spiritualism
http://www.frithjof-schuon.com/newageB-engl.htm

Spiritus ubi vult spirat.

"The truths ... expressed [by the Sophia Perennis] are not the exclusive possession of any school or individual; were it otherwise they would not be truths, for these cannot be invented, but must necessarily be known in every integral traditional civilization. It might, however, reasonably be asked for what human and cosmic reasons truths that may in a very general sense be called "esoteric" should be brought to light and made explicit at the present time, in an age that is so little inclined to speculation. There is indeed something abnormal in this, but it lies, not in the fact of the exposition of these truths, but in the general condition of our age, which marks the end of a great cyclic period of terrestrial humanity -- the end of a maha-yuga according to Hindu cosmology -- and so must recapitulate or manifest again in one way or another everything that is included in the cycle, in conformity with the adage : "extremes meet"; thus things that are in themselves abnormal may become necessary by reason of the conditions just referred to.

From a more individual point of view, that of mere expediency, it must be admitted that the spiritual confusion of our times has reached such a pitch that the harm that might in principle befall certain people from contact with the truths in question is compensated by the advantages other will derive from the selfsame truths; again, the term "esoterism" has been so often misused in order to cloak ideas that are as unspiritual as they are dangerous, and what is know of esoteric doctrines has been so frequently plagiarized and deformed -- not to mention the fact that the outward and readily exaggerated incompatibility of the different religious forms greatly discredits, in the minds of most of our contemporaries, all religions - that it is not only desirable but even incumbent upon one to give some idea, firstly, of what true esoterism is and what it is not, and secondly, of what it is that constitutes the profound and eternal solidarity of all spiritual forms. Notes On The New Age Movement partly by Charles Upton

I've only made slight changes for the purpose of clarity.

Notes On The New Age Movement
http://www.abc.se/~m9783/o/nnam_e.html

The New Age Movement is of course a conglomerate of thousands of distict groupings, some of which are fighting against each other for they are competing for the following by the 'masses' with all the benefit this entails. They do however share distinct characteristics, which have already been listed at this site. Here some more information on their workings will be presented.
Partly from Charles Upton: The System Of Antichrist

A.) What anti-traditional movements, such as New Age deny

1. That God - Allah knows us better than we know Him.
2. That He actively intervenes in human affairs.
3. That He requires something of us.
4. Therefore they hate revelation and deny it.

“The denial of revelation leads to a false image of intellection** as a kind of 'higher empiricism'. Those 'esotericists' who are looking for metaphysics without religion, an esoterism without the fullness of Tradition, will be tempted to see 'the deep things of God' as their private preserve, as arcane mysteries to be delved into, quasi-scientifically, by the 'intellect' transformed into a slave of mental passion, but not as the wisdom and power of the Living God, Who has a will and exercises it, Who actively intervenes in human affairs, and Who, far from being a mere specimen for their occult researches, requires something of them.”
**Intellection: “direct perception (of) Truth via the Intellect, which is a ray of that Truth, (either as inspired by the great historical revelations, or by the primordial Self-revelation of God, which is the cosmos.)”
“The function of revelation, along with its traditional expression, is to provide us dogmatic beliefs [or: a dogma, a teaching] which are [is] sufficiently wise to prevent us, on the moral level, from going seriously astray, and have sufficient objective truth, on the intellectual level, to lead us to knowledge and certainty.”

B.) The Aims of The New Age Movement
• The destruction of revealed religions
in the name of a 'one world culture'.

Eleven (False) New Age Principles by Charles Upton

I've taken the last paragraph written on this page and put it first becuase I thought it incredibly important for the understanding of the New Age role of obfuscation and countefeiting of the Truth.

http://www.abc.se/~m9783/o/nap_e.html
Introduction
"Dr Rama Coomaraswamy, in an article entitled 'The Desacralization of Hinduism for Western Consumption, lists nine New Age principles, which he takes from a book by Dr Catheryn Ridall, Ph.D., representing the essence of todays channeled spirit teaching. Above is a summary of them, in which I attempt to disentangle elements of spiritual truth from the matrix of error which is New Age doctrine.

"A counterfeit is worse than a simple error. These nine principles are full of errors which, however, are precisely designed to obfuscate specific metaphysical truths. And the effect of such counterfeits is that 'you are damned if you do and damned if you don't.' The Devil loves to employ counterfeits, because to accept them is to be led into error, while to reject them without exposing the counterfeit - that is, without bringing forth the true principle which the counterfeit was designed to hide - is to be, maneuvered into rejecting the truth that is being counterfeited. I'll attempt to deconstruct the above 'principles', expose the counterfeits they are made of, and present the traditional principles they veil.

Quotes From Charles Upton ©: The System Of Antichrist

1.) Universal evolution of conciousness toward greater love and compassion

"This is certainly false if applied to the human collectivity or the material universe. The receptivity of incarnate time-conditioned consciousness to Divine Reality waxes and wanes in a cyclical manner, and human receptivity to God on the collective level is now in a steep and irreversible decline.
"The truth here veiled is that the destiny of the individual soul on the spiritual path is to 'evolve' in the sense of 'unwinding what has been wound up', dissolving the hard kernel of egotism and self-will. This 'evolution' certainly includes the development of compassion, but (and here the principle is deceptive because incomplete) this 'evolution' also results in the development of true, objective knowledge.

2.) In the context of universal evolution of consciousness, we can be guided both by beings who are more 'evolved' than us, and by parts of ourselves which are themselves evolving.

" It is certainly true that some persons (such as the Sufi guide Khidr (peace be upon him)... can in certain rare conditions) "sometimes be delegated by God to guide us, -as long as we, and they, understand that ultimately God is the only guide."
"But to believe that this rare possibility makes it unnecessary for us to connect ourselves to a revealed tradition, and place ourselves (God willing) under the guidance of a fully-empowered human representative of that tradition, presuming one is available, is false. And to believe that conscious, ongoing contact with a discarnate 'guide' is normal - for anyone but a sorcerer, that is, in communion with his familiar spirit - and that such contact is not an open door to demonic possession, is profoundly deluded."
"Furthermore, to say we can be guided by our 'higher self' which is also evolving, is false; to try to spiritually orient oneself to something which is still in the realm of becoming [such as our 'higher self'] is to reduce the meaning of 'spiritual orientation' to zero."
"If there is any meaning to the term 'higher self', it can only refer, not to the individual soul but" to the level of Spirit (rûh) within us that Eckhart indicated when he said
'there is Something within the soul which is uncreated and uncreatable.' The atman (or Divine Self or rûh) "does not guide us in the sense that we can hold a conversation with it."
"Psychic reflections of the rûh (Spirit), "may certainly appear in dreams or visions. These reflections will be deceptive, ambiguous, or a vehicle of God's Grace, depending upon God's will for that person and his or her state."

3./4.) The earth is at a critical point in its development; we are witnessing a major shift in values, lifestyles, spiritual orientation, we are moving into greater spiritual maturity, the earth is to undergo a purification of values and social organization; there will be earth-changes such as earth quakes.

" It is true that the earth is at a critical point, but the shift in values, lifestyles, spiritual orientation and social organization is not toward greater spiritual maturity, but toward chaos and dissolution. It is true that there will be, and already are, earth changes, as were predicted by Jesus for the end of the age, and true that there will be a purification. But the purification will be apocalyptic, not progressive, and will represent the end of the present humanity. The 'new heaven and the new earth' will be for another humanity.

5.) Guides are now appearing to help us through this transition to an age of peace, new energies of higher frequency will cause minor disturbances in behavior.

" It is false that we are transitioning to a time of peace, unless it be a false and temporary peace; therefore the 'guides' who claim to be helping us through this transition are deceptive. Nor are the present disturbances in behavior minor, to say the least. It is true, in a sense, that we are encountering 'higher energies', but this is because our own level of integration is sinking to the point where the ever-present Grace of God can only be experienced, on the collective level, as wrath, since we are not receptive to it. The 'energy', or ontological level, of the parousia so far surpasses what the world can receive that it will shatter the world, making way for 'a new heaven and a new earth'. (parousia: wrath of God)

6.) The human being is one part of a multi-dimensional soul or god-self, we are much more than we think we are.

"True and false. As Jesus said, 'ye are all gods, and sons of the Most High.' But he balanced this by saying, 'Why callest thou me good? None is good, save one, that is, God.'
"It is true that humanity exists simultaneously in higher worlds than the material, namely the psychic and the Spiritual. But we do not simply ascend to these worlds, or enter them for the first time when we die, because the Great Chain of Being represents the 'ray' whereby God created us, and maintains us in existence, instant-by-instant. If we turn against these higher worlds, however - by giving our allegiance to our ego instead of God - then they will - become our Hell: the psyche, an anguished chaos; the Spirit within us, a cutting, blinding Light which forces us away from the radiant Center of Being.
"The central question is this: are these higher aspects of our being claimed by the ego, as if we were self-created, or are they seen as God's gift to us of our very being, which we cannot claim as our own even in material terms?
"New Age believers like the idea that we exist simultaneously in higher worlds; what they have greater difficulty dealing with is that 'he who tries to preserve his life will lose it, but he who loses his life, for My sake, will find it'. This is because they want to claim these higher worlds for the ego; they teach that we can enter and 'explore' these worlds as a kind of leisure-time activity, by a simple, incremental expansion of our 'human potential', without piety, without sacrifice, without fear of God. Their doctrine is essentially Promethean; they choose to forget that 'twice born needs once dead.'

7.) We create our own experience on all levels; there are no victims; we create our own suffering as a learning experience.

"It is faIse to say that we create our own experience if the 'we' in question is the individual psyche, because the psyche does not create itself, being wholly contingent on the Spirit of God, and because other individual psyches exist; the solipsism [i.e. obtaining knowledge only by own sense-perception] here implied is thus refuted both 'vertically'and 'horizontally'.
"There is a way, however, in which this is true, but only in a negative sense, since we certainly do create some of our own perceptual limitations. Rather than 'we create our own reality,' it would be better to say "we create our own illusions, which then become our 'reality'".
"Our view of the world is a learned pattern, determined both by culture and by personal experience, if not by a series of choices based on fear and desire.
"To say 'there are no victims' is true if by this we mean that everything, in the ultimate sense, is an act of God, and God is just, even the suffering of the innocent is justified from the point of view which sees cosmic existence itself, while in one sense necessary, as an imbalance in the face of the Absolute.
"In the words of Rabi`a, 'Your existence is a sin with which no other sin can be compared.' The idea that there are no victims is an interpretation of the law of karma (law of action and ongoing results of actions) - but if it is implied in this interpretation that charity toward the suffering is not incumbent upon us, since 'that's just their karma,' or that we can become liberated simply through creating illusions for ourselves and then seeing through them, then it is false.
"Karma (law of action and ongoing results of action) is not a self-exhausting system; without dharma, (which is) the operative truth which lifts one above the level of karmic cause-and-effect by positing the reality of self-transcendence, karma can never be 'lived out'; without the Mercy of God's Truth, freely given and freely accepted, along with its 'cross', illusion can never be dispelled. Damnation is the proof that not all suffering has the power to enlighten.

8.) Matter follows thought, our physical reality is created, and can be changed, by our beliefs.

" Matter follows God's thought, not ours; to imply otherwise, to say that we are co-creators in our own right, is false. It is true that our experience can be changed by changing our beliefs, but this change cannot be sovereign, or arbitrary.
"We can't simply believe whatever we want and think we're thereby controlling the world, because there really is an objective reality, both within us and outside us, something which is exactly the way it is no matter what we happen to believe.
"A change in belief can change our experience in two ways only: if we conform our beliefs to objective spiritual Truth, we will see the universe as it really is, as both contingent upon that Truth and a manifestation of it, (but) if our beliefs are determined by our ego, which interprets the world around it only on the basis of its own fears and desires, we will perceive and produce only chaos.
" It is true that if we all perfectly conformed our consciousness to objective spiritual Reality, the material world would dissolve and be transformed into Paradise. But this is the farthest thing from the idea that our beliefs create reality out of nothing, given that such perfect conformation - which, of course is impossible in practical terms - could not be a function of belief, which sees 'through a glass, darkly,' but only of true objective knowledge. As I pointed out above, the ego does not create; it only edits.

9.) Although our individual expression demonstrates much diversity, we are all ultimately one.

"True. The only question is, in what sense are we one? If this is meant horizontally, on the social level or in terms of sharing in the same subconscious motivations, then the best that can be said is that, for better or worse, we are related, or only 'relatively one'. Our true unity is vertical, (meaning) by virtue of atman or Divine Self within us; we are all creations, or symbolic manifestations, of the One Divine Self."
"By virtue of this atman (or Divine Self) we are, at the deepest level of our being, both unique and universal. The Self within us is pure, transpersonal, universal Being, without attributes; in another sense, It is even beyond Being. But since God is unique as well as universal, the Self is also the principle of our unique human integrity, according to which we are not simply humanity in the abstract, but actual human beings, commanded by God to be precisely ourselves, no greater, no less, and no other."
"And yet this uniqueness is also universal, since it is shared by all human beings, and in fact by all things. Self as the principle of uniqueness is not other than Self as the principle of pure Being, as when God, speaking to Moses in Exodus, names, Himself 'I Am That I Am' that is to say: My unique Essence is not other than My pure Being; it is My unique Essence to be pure Being. And what God can say of Himself, we can also say, virtually at least," of the Divine Self within us.

10.) That psyche and Spirit are identical.

"As I demonstrate in many places throughout this book, this principle is entirely false.

11.) That spirituality is a personal achievement, an exploit, a tour-deforce.
"As I demonstrate in many places throughout this book, this principle is entirely false.

Re: INTEGRAL TRADITION Revolt against the modern world CONSERVATIVE REVOLUTION

Draken dude,

Glad you brought this thread up. It was my intention to think on it a while.

I've just re-read the thread and the links... so here we go... a good debate... a challenge.

"I've heard tell the road to hell was paved with good intentions."

Feels appropriate here.

I'm going to speak from my Christian beliefs and my spiritual nature.

I believe that their is a lot of truth and wisdom HIDDEN from humanity by the powers controlling said truth and wisdom.

If I were God and I wanted my family, my children to get along, I would favour none and love all equally. I'd treach them all right from wrong and how much I loved them and wanted them to be good and do good in my eyes. That isn't to say that right is right and wrong is wrong and that is that - consequences are consequences.

What if I were to send a messenger or perhaps if a light of humanity would shine, a receptacle for divine inspiration? Many nations would have many languages and many customs and so maybe more than one man or nation was inspired with God's creation. I liken it to God hid a key to heaven in the many faiths of one true good God of peace and justice. Each key, although different, opens the different pearly gates which all open up to heaven.

All flowers are not roses and all faiths are not the one and only. We have to learn to get along and appreciate the differences - the beauty of the differences.

Lies are ugly, racism is ugly, religionism is ugly
God don't like ugly! Is ignorance bliss?

Environment has so much to do with development of character, creative skills, abilities and comprehension.

If a child grows up as knowing bad for normal, will he not expect nor seek any other alternative excepting for hope? Where does hope come from? Does hope bring the gifts of determination and courage? Isn't the grace of God a hopeful thought?

Personal accountability and adulthood takes charge of the misled youth and it is easy to make bad decisions when you come from bad decisions - monkey see, monkey do. Is hope a part of this equation? If we lose faith in ourselves and faith in our future, have we lost sight of God?

I think so. Is God important to humanity? Who has said, "Please God, please?" at any point in their life, whether begging for grace or praying for miracles. I believe it is a natural instinct to believe and trust in that higher thing called GOD.

Is the world dummed down? Parents do not relate emotionally to their children. They have lost that ability. Children are committing suicide in Britain, in Canada, in the U.S. and many more are on heavy drugs because our children cannot take the effects of feeling abandoned emotionally by their parents.

I could always sense when my babies were going to wake up. That's natural. How many mum's are that in tune with their nurturing nature? Not too many.

Brainwashed or ignorant... who is gonna judge and when?

God knows I love Jesus and he is the best role model I have found in my life to follow and I know some amazing Moslem women of incredible faith. The dalai lama? Dude is on Q.

One third of the world is Christian and 1/3 of the world believes that this world is probably ending soon armageddon a la Hollywood NWO style. Something like .2% of the world's peoples are Jewish - how many of them are actually God fearing good guys and not satanists, who knows as the same can be said for the Moslems and the Christians and so many other "faiths" I imagine.

We can argue until the dogs come home and what do we believe? I am starting to concieve the reality that the Bible is a very dangerous propaganda tool. Who says it has to end that way? Only God knows how this all plays out.

I keep recalling that movie Antz where the grasshoppers come and demand their feed every fall. The ants always capitulate in fear. Then this "dumb" ant somehow changes events and there is no feed for the grasshoppers, who get real angry.

The ants are many and their thoughts are inspired. The grasshoppers are defeated easily, as a bigger "entity" comes to prey on the grasshoppers, in aid of the ants.

Faith is what always makes the difference, at the 11th hour.

I do not believe that anything in the future is written in stone other than the premise that ultimately good conquers evil as light always exposes darkness.

Darkness is only an absence of light. It is nothing, in itself. It only has the power the ego of humanity feeds the beast through fear. Fear of losing their material existence. We all die. That is the one thing we all know. Why be scared?

There is a spiritual battle going on presently, no doubt. The way I percieve the situation is that the advertisers of NWO want us to believe that there is no hope, we are going where they are leading. They are requesting people to tune out to the truth that is happening NOW.

I've been feeling this peace, that I wish I could share with everyone. I know there is an afterlife and I know how it feels - a peace I have never felt before or since and it is on the horizon - it is coming.

The world is still going to turn. People are still going to make babies and it is just going to be a whole new ball game.

There is something amazing that is going to happen and I don't know when or where and I can feel it coming. I can feel a miracle coming. It is something very good - a gift from God.

What shall we debate?

The True Symbolism of the Pyramid

Mary!

I always know you were right on the money!;-)

Exactly.

I see it like this:

we have a pyramid with four sides. They are all equal and completely different, but the higher up you go on one side, the closer you get to the other sides. Finally, at the apex the sides merge and actually disappear. You realise that the source was the same.

This is the true symbolism of the pyramid.

This image gives me immense peace of mind and soul.

Re: The True Symbolism of the Pyramid

Draken dude!

We are on the same wave length... Only here, have I met people who think and feel about things. There are so many mindless blobs of grey matter marching through the world - time to go make the donuts!

How can you not believe in God? We didn't make this place... who did or even - what did?

Are we just animals that have adapted so well to our environment that we believe we can change the environment to the detriment of most living species or plants, animals, flora and fauna?

Are we little God's(Hitler's) ruling our own little worlds?

Is there a much bigger picture beyond our comprehension? Is that possible? Could we NOT understand everything there is to understand? It is our human reality, I assert. We know very little regarding all that there is to know. Let's be realistic.

I believe that God created me and therefore I am God's child - his spirit is in me - I am in him. I learned that from loving my own flesh and blood.

If I, who know so little, can love so much, regardless of lack of complete understanding of all things... How much does God love us? Is divine intervention not a sign of this love?

I intervene in my children's lives, out of love. I also let them sort out their own problems, out of love too. Everyone needs to learn.

Maybe the world needs to learn that the one thing we all have in common as adults, is that we have a responsibility to protect the children of our global society.

The children of Palestine and Iraq and many other nations are under seige and their spirits are being brutually murdered. How can we, as adults, accountable to the future, do nothing?

I cannot change Iraq or Palestine and I can help my fellow man here, where I live. God starts working on you from the inside.

It makes a person feel good when they do something good. It usually makes both people feel good. Tough love is another tune where the percieved feelings are bad but the outcome is generally good for both parties. Sometimes a needle hurts and it is beneficial. The pain does go away and can be easily forgotten.

War is not tough love, it is murder.
Corrupt governments are not tough love, they are societal murderers.

"If things were as bad as they could be, you could be sure of a brighter tomorrow."

Humanity needs to start accepting and percieving the good. Her focus needs to steer away from the goggle box and it's programming of "The world is an evil place!" "Men think with their willy's" "Super greedy slut/bitch/mom".

This is God's creation and their is beauty in poverty and the humane gestures to be found in times of war.

I assert to this forum that WW3 has commenced, a while back, with the dropping of those plutonium tipped missiles in Iraq. Follow the money and you will surely see where the political alliances lead for the future war games. Don't be fooled.

Imperialism is not about land - it is a colonization of the mind.

The devil wants to dictate our thoughts and if you tune into the propaganda, you can recieve the devil's idears on life - loud and clear.

People achieve what they concieve and believe in their minds. It is as easy as that. If you focus on evil - that is the world coming. If you focus on your future goals, you will achieve them. Simple.

If we are aware of the evil AND focus on the good - what happens? If we do good things, good things happen. It is a great cycle to get yourself caught up into. Instead of a run of bad luck, it chucks you into the swing of good luck.

My Christian chum would chastise me and God is my luck. God is all the luck I need! I keep my eyes on the prize. God's will, not mine. I tell God what I want specifically to happen and I happily accept the way things play out.

I wanted to know the truth and God placed me in every situation you could imagine to show me exactly what the truth is. I understand political corruption and the media like the back of my hand.

I understand cocaine distribution, money laundering and globalised economics like yesterday's math. I feel I should do something regarding everything I understand, as little as it amounts to in the grand scheme, and have evidence of... but what can I do?

The media is corrupt and will not here me?
Can I make myself heard? I'm going back into a recording studio to do just that. God helps those who help themselves. God's will, not theirs. Am I going to put my evidence up on the internet? I believe so. Am I scared - to a certain degree, yes. Am I gonna face this fear? Yes, I always do - God is with me. He's in me. He's a part of being - he is the spirit that drives me.

I don't need gold and I don't want diamonds... I want a better future for my children to grow up in. Not just better for them, but a better future for everyone's kids, that is what will truly benefit my own.

Is it Sunday? I've gotten all personal and declared my faith!

My youngest just said, "I've been really good..."
I said, "You ARE really good..."

I love my kids more than words can say... going swimming again today!

Gnosis and Gnosticism

Hi Draken:

I was reading the essay on "Gnosis and Gnosticism" in the

http://www.frithjof-schuon.com/NA-gnosis-engl.htm

site you had provided, and here's what I think:

Both Gnosticism and Theosophy are attempts at unveiling the truth. However, there are many pseudo-gnostics that have developed a false notion that just because they are "evolved" (in their own evaluation), anything is permissible for them. This is not only foolish but also dangerous.

What people forget is that the law of karma operates with precision and every living being is accountable for their actions. Now, it's not impossible to perform actions without accumulating karma (in fact Krishna talks exactly about this in the Gita), and perhaps these pseudo-gnostics are living in the illusion that their actions do not accumulate any karma. However, such a thing can happen only when the person's ego is fully united with the Spirit. In such a case, the person merely acts as a receptacle to carry out the will of the Spirit, and has no attachment whatsoever to anything in this world. His/her mind is said to be "swallowed or consumed" by the Spirit. This is really a very high state of advancement.

However, we should certainly be suspicious about people claiming to have this type of advancement and then committing evil or nefarious acts. This is because anyone that progresses spiritually would first need to get rid of Tamo Guna (the mode of ignorance or darkness), then get rid of Rajo Guna (the mode of passion), and operate purely with Sattva Guna (the mode of goodness). This way, he ensures that even though he's still separated from the Spirit, his actions being propelled by Sattva Guna will only bring about Sattvic or good reactions, which will only keep him steadfast on his spiritual path.

At later stages, he uses Sattva Guna to get rid of Sattva Guna itself, and then he rises above all the 3 Gunas to become "Nirguna". A person of realization is constantly absorbed in bliss, and the Spirit can use their bodies as receptacles to carry out anything that It wishes. If the Spirit wants to use them as receptacles to perform any act that looks nefarious, then it can only be for the purpose of winding up other people's bad karmas without creating any new karma. And in such a case, if this person has even a slight attachment towards the actions or the results, it will attract a lot of bad karma to it. The detachment must be 100% (no less), in order for actions to produce no karma at all. And of course, it also goes without saying that even good actions performed from a state of detachment attract no good karma.

But one thing is always true....Every spiritual action is ALWAYS motivated by spiritual qualities, the first and foremost being unconditonal love for ALL living beings. For instance, a mother may spank a child for trying to cross a road with high-speed traffic. But the purpose of the spanking is not to hurt the child, but to dissuade the child from doing things that will hurt him/her. So the action is really motivated by love, even though the spanking may appear to be cruel. Likewise, every action performed by a person fully united with the Spirit will NEVER lack, and always be motivated by the foremost spiritual quality, which is love for all beings.

I'll read through the other links when I find time, and perhaps we can have more discussion on this.

Good luck!

Again, thanks for your time!

Agreed; I'm pressed for time at the moment as well, but one thing is important for me to ackowledge in what you wrote
Quote:

Hence, the Sufi saying: "A saint who thinks he is a saint is no longer a saint."

One should look for these qualities in people totally unexpected to have these qualities, and in totally unexpected places.
If one is looking for a "guru" or teacher in these matters at least it's clear where NOT to look, right? ;-)

We'll definately continue this discussion!

Re: Gnosis and Gnosticism

<a href="http://www.sophia-perennis.com/WHO_spiritual.htm">Frithjof Schuon on Spirituality</a>:

Transcending oneself: this is the great imperative of the human condition; and there is another that anticipates it and at the same time prolongs it: dominating oneself. The noble man is one who dominates himself; the holy man is one who transcends himself. Nobility and holiness are the imperatives of the human state.

Intelligence, since it distinguishes, has the faculty of perceiving proportions. The spiritual man integrates these proportions into his will, into his soul and into his life. All defects manifest a lack of proportion; they are errors that are lived.

To be spiritual means not to deny with one’s ‘being’ what one affirms with one’s ‘knowledge’, that is to say, what is accepted by the intelligence. Truth lived: incorruptibility and generosity.

<a href="http://www.sophia-perennis.com/WHO_gnostic.htm">The Gnostic</a>

For too many persons the gnostic is someone who, feeling illumined from within rather than by Revelation, takes himself to be superhuman and believes that for him everything is permissible; one will accuse of gnosis any political monster who is superstitious or who has vague interests in the occult while believing himself to be invested with a mission in the name of some aberrant philosophy.

In a word, in common opinion gnosis equals "intellectual pride," as if this were not a contradiction in terms, pure intelligence coinciding precisely with objectivity, which by definition excludes all subjectivism, hence especially pride which is its least intelligent and coarsest form.

For the gnostic — always in the etymological and not the sectarian sense of the term — or for the jnâni, there can be no question of "egoism," since the ego is not "himself." The "I" is for him the "other," objectification, the vital tangible center of the world.

We have written in one of our books that to be objective is to die a little, unless one is a pneumatic, in which case one is dead by nature, and in that extinction finds one's life.
