I said this on another forum, but it bears repeating.
I have never been as disappointed in a leader of this country nor as ashamed to be an American as I feel right now.
Yesterday when I went shopping in the little town closest to mine, there were local citizens ringing the Salvation Army bell and collecting donations for the people in New Orleans. I couldn't help but thinking that only a generaton or two ago they might have been arming themselves and preparing to march on the capital.
