Default Re: anti-conspiracy ppl who can rationalize anything: what's the craziest you've heard?

Quote:
Many of us are operating on general assumptions of goodwill among society. For many, they need to think positively in order to maintain their sanity.
Reminds me of another great quote:

“Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good. That honor virtue and courage mean everything; that money and power mean nothing. That good always triumphs over evil. That true love never dies. Doesn’t matter if they’re true or not. A man should believe in those things anyway. Because they are the things worth believing.”
-- Hubb McCann,Secondhand Lions.

Obviously, there is a sort of nobility in that kind of thinking, as long as it doesn't completely obscure reality.
Maybe Buckminister Fuller said it best:

"You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete."
-- Buckminster Fuller

The existing reality for us is that most of the sheeple cannot accept reality; therefore we must forge ahead with the implicit understanding that they will soon be obsolete.
