But this is ludicrous - what you are saying is that
you want population growth to get more funds to service the population that keeps growing???

If you stop the growth you stop the need for more growth. Or am I just being naive?

Why is the goal of a corporation growth? Why can't it just leave well enough alone?

I find it strange that if a company makes X million dollars profit this year, but only X+1% next year, it is considered bad. It's share price takes a dive and investor confidence drops. IT STILL MADE A PROFIT, so what is the problem?
