I think you're close.
It's not China specifically, but the whole debt-laden mess that the central banksters (Federal Reserve) have made of the U. S. economy that is driving American foreign policy right now, including the decision to invade Iraq because of Saddam's sales of oil in Euros rather than dollars.
The Illuminati have taken the U. S. to the brink of financial destruction, where every decision we now make is overwhelmingly obsessed with preserving the debt bubble, rather than what is in our own or the world's best interests.
The trap is just about ready to be sprung for the good ol' U. S. of A. :-(
