Unless someone on the "inside" provides some documentation saying otherwise...the official dead sounds accurate.
Simply go over the casualty figures for war of varying intensity in history.
The figures are right for an insurgency.
If the dead was say...10,000, out of 160,000 serving, then thats a rough figure of %6 DEATH rate.
The Normandy landing was around %3 TOTAL casualties including WOUNDED and DEAD. That was a FAR higher level of combat intensity but we are expected to believe that a insurgency is producing DOUBLE that rate? And ALL dead?
2000 dead out of 160,000 serving is just over %1. About right.
%6 MORTALITY is worse than the Russian front!
