Earthspirit, you are spot on. In the book "The Two Babylons", it is explained that gods and stars meant the same thing and were used interchangeably in ancient times. That is exactly what is meant by the title star today. They are the gods. I am a fan of old movies and recently saw Humphrey Bogart in "Dark Passage". I rooted for Bogart to win because I could feel empathy for him (he had talent). When I saw "War of the Worlds" I ended up rooting for the Martians over Tom Cruise. These "stars" today really think they are gods even without any appreciable talent.
