I grow fruits and vegetables in organic soil but I understand what you're saying ... If you're worried about minerals, and you should be ... the deeper the root, the higher the mineral content (generally).

Oh, I know there is a trend toward growing herbs (veggies, whatever ..) but actual soil is better then that sterilized stuff. How could it not be?

All things considered, while I hunt, fish and garden, I'm scared shitless.
