When marijuana is smoked without the aid of tobacco then yes it is less harmless, many many many studies have been carried out to show this. The highest ranked university (Harvard) has shown it to be so.
In fact the scientific community generally agrees that smoking (or other ways of administering) pot has no PERMANENT health risks after 28 days of ceasing smoking it - FACT.
Although this is only in adults, not adolescent whose brains have no stopped growing, in which case permanent damage may result to brain activity. So in that way it is the same as the majority of drugs, eg. alcohol in moderation.
