I liked that show too- good fiction. But what I did find very disturbing is how similar the "we got bin Laden" fable sounded like a first rough draft of a rejected plot line from 24. The plot line was full of holes and inconsistencies, and there was a strong sense of some shadowy Jack Bauer-type "heroes" lurking around the scene. I don't believe the story myself, of course, but a lot of people have- I think because it appeals to the television fantasy world.
I wonder if those involved in the real world "terrorist" issues both creating them and putting the media spin on them are actually watching too much television themselves- and preying on the fact that many Americans can't seem to tell the difference between fact and fiction anymore.
