Default American Politics-2014-2016???

Over the next 2 years the United States of America will be either be destroyed outright, or die a slow, never ending, suffocating, descent into collapse,(oh wait, already there.) That is of course dependent on the People willing- or not, to accept such a fate.

To those people in all CONTINENTS across the Earth, to you people who wish for clarity, not confusion, then I was sent here to PROVIDE THAT Clarity! Of course, I can neither CONFIRM, nor Deny, such things will in fact happen, as only God knows the timetable of humanity. In fact every word I or you ever spoke or wrote, has been WRITTEN!

And just for the record, I am not a CHRISTIAN ZIONIST, I AM A BELIEVER IN CHRIST!

In order to understand what THEY have planned for humanity, it is IMPORTANT to understand the players involved, I find it interesting that many of the players involved have no clue that they are indeed being "played."

Divine Sign for Israel? Hagee Explains Blood Moons

By Erick StakelbeckCBN News CorrespondentWednesday, February 12, 2014

http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/insideisr...s-Blood-Moons/

SAN ANTONIO -- The Book of Genesis says God uses the sun, moon, and stars for signs and seasons. Examples can be found throughout the Bible.Think of how a star led the wise men to Jesus or how the sun stood still as Joshua led Israel to victory over its enemies.According to Pastor John Hagee, God is getting ready to speak this way once again."There's a sense in the world that things are changing and God is trying to communicate with us in a supernatural way," Hagee told CBN News."I believe that in these next two years, we're going to see something dramatic happen in the Middle East involving Israel that will change the course of history in the Middle East and impact the whole world," he predicted.

Four Blood Moons

In his latest book,*Four Blood Moons: Something Is About to Change, Hagee lays out what he calls celestial signals. He describes how a series of blood moons in 2014 and 2015 will have great significance for Israel.*Although single blood moons happen fairly regularly, four appearing so closely together is extremely rare. There have only been a series of blood moons a handful of times over the past 500 years. So what exactly is a blood moon and what is the biblical significance?"A blood moon is when the Earth comes between the sun and the moon," Hagee explained. "And the sun is shining through the atmosphere of the Earth and casts up on the moon a red shadow. And so the moon appears to be red."Such moons appear several times in scripture. In the book of Joel, God says there will be "wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire…the sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord."In Acts, the Apostle Peter repeats that verse from Joel. And the book of Revelation says that during the Great Tribulation, "the moon will become like blood."Blood moons are set to appear in April 2014, on Passover, and then again in September 2014 during the Feast of Tabernacles, or Sukkot. The timing is the same for 2015 -- a total of four blood moons, all appearing on Jewish feast days."The sun and the moon and the Earth are controlled by God almighty," Hagee said. "He is the one that is getting them in a direct alignment on a certain day at a certain time -- but each time, it's a Passover or Sukkot.

Historic Significance

In the past, the rare appearance of four blood moons on these feast days has coincided with major events for Israel and the Jewish people. In 1492, Spain expelled the Jews. Columbus also discovered America, which became a safe haven for the Jewish people."In each of these blood moons, you have something that begins in tragedy and ends in triumph," Hagee explained. For instance, in 1948, Israel was reborn as a nation."After 2,000 years, God supernaturally brought them from 66 nations and a nation was born in a day," Hagee noted. "That again was a supernatural something that happened following the tragedy of the Holocaust."In 1967, Israel won the Six-Day War and recaptured Jerusalem."For the first time in 2,000 years, Jerusalem and the State of Israel were together again," Hagee said.

Nuclear Threat

The blood moons of 2014 and 2015 are poised to appear as Iran works toward nuclear weapons and Israel's neighbors, Egypt and Syria, are in chaos."The only reason that Iran will not acquire a nuclear bomb will be that Israel chooses a military solution to that crisis," Hagee told CBN News."I believe that if that happens, it will start a series of events that will change the course of world history," he said. "If Israel does not, then it will still change the course of world history."Hagee has been warning of the Iranian nuclear threat through his work withChristians United for Israel, which he founded in 2006. It is now the largest pro-Israel organization in America, with some 1.3 million members. He holds nights to honor Israel across the country and at San Antonio's Cornerstone Church, where he serves as senior pastor. The first event, in 1981, drew bomb threats and vandalism from anti-Semites.Yet Hagee continues his mission."If there was ever a time for the Christians of America to stiffen their spine and stand up and speak up, it's now," Hagee admonished. "To see evil and not call it evil is evil. Not to speak is to speak. We cannot be silent and receive God's approval at a time like this."He said it's still unclear what the coming blood moons will bring, but he is certain of one thing."When all is said and done, the flag of Israel will be flying over the walls of the city of Jerusalem when Messiah comes, and it's going to be forever," he said. "And every nation that rises up in judgment against Israel God will punish and punish severely."

Four Bloods Moons

What the Blood Moons Mean

By Thomas Taylor

http://thomastaylorministries.org/Wo...od-moons-mean/

Joel 2:30-31 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. (31) The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

What are the Blood Moons?

The modern four blood moons discovery took place in 2008 by Pastor Mark Biltz. He is an expert on all things Jewish. He had done extensive study on the subject of the Feasts of Israel. Well, at one point he was looking at the passages about the blood moon associated with the Day of the Lord and he thought about checking out when blood moons will occur by going to the NASA website. A blood moon is a lunar eclipse the creates a reddish color on the moon.**On the NASA website they have a full schedule of all eclipses, both lunar and solar. He was looking at the dates and matching them up with the Jewish calendar and an amazing discovery came into visibility – blood moons occur on Jewish Feast Days on occasion. Then he realized that on extremely rare occasions four blood moons would happen on four Jewish Feasts Days within a two year time period! So it is obvious this is not just a random freak occurrence but a definite sign from God.The question is, what is God saying? Is it related to Jesus’ Coming? Back in 2008 Pastor Mark Biltz appeared on Prophecy in the News and talked about the events. I got the DVD on the subject that he produced (which no one can find anymore.) On the DVD Pastor Mark talks about the four blood moons on Jewish Feast Days, called a Tetrad, coming in 2014 and 2015. He discovered also that blood moons in the past occurred on special events associated with Jews like the Spanish Inquisition, the rebirth of the nation of Israel in 1948, and the capture of Jerusalem in the 1967 Six-Day War. He concluded something special is going to occur in with the Blood Moons of 2014/2015 that we need to watch for but he did not know what it would be. But the event that Pastor Mark focused on, based on his knowledge of the Jewish Feasts, was September 23, 2015 – Yom Kippur – as apotential*day the Lord would return. *The four blood moons occur about the time of this particular feast on the following feasts:

Quote:
BLOOD MOON ON PESSAC – PASSOVER – Tuesday April 15, 2014BLOOD MOON ON SUKKOTH – FEAST OF TABERNACLES – Wednesday October 8, 2014
Quote:
BLOOD MOON ON PESSAC – PASSOVER – Saturday April 4, 2015BLOOD MOON ON SUKKOTH – FEAST OF TABERNACLES Monday September 28, 2015

However, there’s more to it than these four blood moons!*Two more solar eclipses happen on Biblical days in 2015!:

American-Jewish billionaire blasts Obama over negotiations with Tehran; says US should show Iran nuclear capabilities.

http://www.jpost.com/Diplomacy-and-P...on-Iran-329641

NEW YORK – During a panel at Yeshiva University on Tuesday evening, Sheldon Adelson, noted businessman and owner of the newspaper*Israel Hayom, suggested that the US should use nuclear weapons on Iran to impose its demands from a position of strength.Asked by moderator Rabbi Shmuley Boteach whether the US should negotiate with Iran if it were to cease its uranium enrichment program, Adelson retorted, “What are we going to negotiate about?”

Adelson then imagined what might happen if an American official were to call up an Iranian official, say “watch this,” and subsequently drop a nuclear bomb in the middle of the Iranian desert."Then you say, ‘See! The next one is in the middle of Tehran. So, we mean business. You want to be wiped out? Go ahead and take a tough position and continue with your nuclear development. You want to be peaceful? Just reverse it all, and we will guarantee you that you can have a nuclear power plant for electricity purposes, energy purposes’," Adelson said.“So a tremendous demonstration of American strength?” Boteach clarified. “So that they would get the message?”“It’s the only thing they understand,” Adelson said.“And do you see the current negotiations as a sign of weakness?” Boteach asked.“Absolutely,” Adelson said.Adelson, who donated tens of millions of dollars to defeated Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney during the most recent campaign, criticized the Obama administration's willingness to engage the Iranians diplomatically."[It's] the worst negotiating tactic I could ever imagine, my entire life," he said."Because you can’t get anything. He’s not saying to them, Roll back your entire program and show that you’re willing to be peaceful. So, roll it all back… and we’ll roll back the sanctions…. What is that, a game of chicken, who’s going to blink first?"In response to Adelson's comments, Boteach said whether the remarks were regarded as serious or an exaggeration to exemplify the extreme measures that the US must take to thwart Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, the international community often employs double standards on Israeli issues.“When I heard Sheldon make his remark, my initial thought was that his purpose was to goad his more liberal critics into attacking the policy so that their double standards on nuclear threats against Israel could be exposed,” said Rabbi Boteach in a statement.“I would hope that those who seem alarmed by Sheldon’s overstatement on the extent to which the United States should go to stop Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon will at least protest that much more loudly against its actual development,” he added.

Sands: Hacking went further than email, websites

Associated Press*ByHANNAH DREIERFeb 18, 2014 5:44 PMLAS VEGAS (AP) — Casino giant Las Vegas Sands Corp. said Tuesday that hacking into their websites and internal systems last week went deeper than the company had previously known. All of the Las Vegas-based company's sites were down for six days after hackers posted images apparently condemning comments CEO Sheldon Adelson made about using nuclear weapons on Iran.

Sands said hackers crashed its email system and stole employees' Social Security numbers. But a video posted online appears to catalog stolen information that goes much further.Sands spokesman Ron Reese said the company is reviewing the 11-minute video that appears to show dozens of administrator passwords, including passwords for slot machine systems and player information at Sands' Bethlehem, Pennsylvania casino. It also shows employee files and a diagram of the company's internal networks. He said the company did not know about the additional incursions until it started investigating the video.

"We have now determined that the hackers reached at least some of the company's internal drives in the US containing some office productivity information made up largely of documents and spreadsheets," he said in a statement. "We are reviewing the video to determine what, if any, customer or employee data may have been accessed."The FBI, Secret Service and Nevada Gaming Control Board are investigating the hacking. Neither of the federal agencies would comment on the matter, and Control Board Chairman A.G. Burnett also declined to comment, saying he had not yet seen the video.A person using the name Zhao Anderson sent the video to The Associated Press on Monday by email, and it was also posted on YouTube by a person using the same name. The AP could not verify the person's identity, or the information contained in the email.

Reese declined to say whether Sands had changed its administrative passwords in response to the hacking. The hacking affected Sands' corporate website, as well as the sites for casinos in Las Vegas, China, Singapore, and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Sands restored the websites Monday afternoon, though not exactly as they were before the attack.Adelson is an outspoken supporter of Israel and a generous donor to U.S. Republican Party campaigns. He spoke in October about dropping a nuclear bomb on Iran, saying strength was the only thing the country understands. The hackers at one point referred to themselves as the "Anti WMD Team." Cybersecurity experts say it could have taken several months for so-called "hacktivists" to complete an attack on Sands' networks.

Sands, which is the world's largest casino company in terms of revenue, also owns the world's largest casino, in the Chinese gambling enclave of Macau. The company's net income was $2.31 billion last year.Sands has not said what effect the hacking attack has had on the company's bottom line. Sands has said it has been able to continue booking visitors by telephone.Since the hacking became public last Tuesday, Sands stock has risen about 3.7 percent to $80.69.

Governors Christie, Walker and Kasich woo billionaire Sheldon Adelson at Vegas event

http://m.washingtonpost.com/politics...816_story.html

By Philip Rucker,*Published: MARCH 29, 7:43 PM ET*E-mail the writer

LAS VEGAS — To New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Republicans must“stop killing each other.”*Start focusing on winning elections, he thundered, or keep arguing and “form a university.”To Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, the GOP ought to quit being the party that cuts programs and takes goodies away from people. “We can’t be the accountant party,” he said. “We’ve got to be the party of more freedom, more opportunity, more prosperity.”And to Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Republicans should prove to middle-class voters that they under*stand their problems by seizing the “moral high ground” and guiding those who are struggling to make ends meet out of the shadows.

Three of the nation’s most prominent governors, all touted as potential Republican presidential candidates in 2016, presented advice here Saturday about how their divided and demoralized party should refocus to reclaim the White House.Under the watchful eyes of a few hundred powerful Jewish donors — none more heavily courted than billionaire casino magnate Sheldon Adelson — Christie, Walker and Kasich also emphasized their support for Israel and advocated a muscular foreign policy.“We cannot have a world where our friends are unsure of whether we’ll be with them and our enemies are unsure of whether we’ll be against them,” Christie said. “In New Jersey, no one has to wonder whether I’m for them or against them.”The three seemed less confident speaking about foreign affairs than they were about domestic policy. Christie drew murmurs when he referred to the “occupied territories,” a phrasing some in the audience said was a gaffe.Officially, the governors were in Las Vegas to address the spring leadership meeting of the Republican Jewish Coalition, which has long promoted a staunchly pro-Israel and interventionist foreign policy. But their political objective was to build relationships with potential benefactors who could bankroll future campaigns. The biggest draw was Adelson, who hosted the conference at the Venetian, his sprawling and flashy casino hotel. Adelson and his wife, Miriam, spent more than $93*million in the 2012 elections and have signaled they will spend heavily in the next presidential campaign.

Adelson was not present for Walker’s speech, but he arrived a few minutes into Christie’s remarks and took a seat in the front row. He later ate lunch next to Kasich. Although there were a few hundred people seated in the ballroom, the Ohio governor frequently directed his remarks to “Sheldon” in his speech, as if he were having a one-on-one chat.Concluding his speech, Kasich said: “In Ohio, we’re no longer fly-over [country], Sheldon. We want you to invest. We want you to get to know us.”Christie, Walker and Kasich — as well as*former Florida governor Jeb Bush, who addressed a smaller dinner of the most active donors Thursday night — each met privately with Adelson in what some political observers have dubbed*“the Sheldon Primary.”

Andy Abboud, Adelson’s top political adviser and the senior vice president for governmental relations at Las Vegas Sands Corp., described the meetings as casual. He said Adelson is familiar with the governors’ positions on Israel and online gaming — two issues that motivate his political giving — and that they did not make formal presentations or lay out policy agendas.“It’s literally Diet Cokes, coffee and water,” Abboud said. “It’s not about your positions and what you’ll do about it, but about everything — your families, your trips. It’s important to Sheldon to know what makes people tick and to establish a comfort level.”Abboud said Adelson is keeping an open mind about whom to back in 2016, although he favors those seen as most likely to appeal to broad demographics and to prevail in the general election.“People are waiting for us to have puffs of smoke coming from the Venetian, looking to see who the candidate will be,” Abboud said. “It’s a very open field as to who they’re considering, and it’s way too premature to figure out who the favorite is.”Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who is aggressively preparing for a presidential campaign, did not attend the Republican Jewish Coalition gathering. But he was the subject of implicit criticism by some who were there. Several speakers here decried the GOP’s growing noninterventionist strain in what was interpreted in part as a shot at Paul.John R. Bolton, a hawkish Republican and a former ambassador to the United Nations, said he fears the “rising tide of neo-isolationism within the Republican Party.”

The potential presidential candidates, none of whom is Jewish, found creative ways to emphasize their strong support for Israel and Jewish traditions.Walker talked about his father’s first pilgrimage to Israel in the 1980s. The governor said that at home during the holidays, he displays both a Christmas tree and a menorah. And he said that he had named his first son Matthew, which is translated in Hebrew as “gift of God.”Christie spoke at length about a recent trip he took to Israel with his family. He said he was taken with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “strength and *resolve.” When he met Israeli President Shimon Peres, Christie said, “I felt like he had walked out of a history book.”Christie also quipped that he likes traveling to Israel because, he said, the country is “about the same size as New Jersey.”

Scott Walker goes broad on foreign policy

By*KENNETH P. VOGEL*| 3/29/14 2:36 PM EDT*Updated: 3/30/14 1:42 PM EDTLAS VEGAS – Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker in a Saturday morning speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition offered broad, but vague support for a muscular foreign policy and support for Israel, stopping short of the level of specificity craved by his audience. The speech, to a gathering of influential Jewish donors and activists well-schooled in Middle Eastern affairs, would seem to offer little to skeptics who see foreign policy as a weakness for a potential Walker 2016 presidential run.

The speech, to a gathering of influential Jewish donors and activists well-schooled in Middle Eastern affairs, would seem to offer little to skeptics who see foreign policy as a weakness for a potential Walker 2016 presidential run.Walker chided the Obama administration as weak on national defense, specifically citing diminishing troop levels, and asserted “Israel should have an ally in the United States.” And while he conceded that foreign policy is “not an area that governors typically look at,” he mentioned that he was commander in chief of the Wisconsin National Guard, before shifting gears to domestic policy, a subject on which he was more animated. He did reach for cultural common ground with his audience by explaining that he lights a menorah at the governor’s mansion during Hannukah and named his son “Matthew” – which means “gift from God” in Hebrew.Walker’s speech stood in stark contrast to that which preceded it, from former Ambassador John Bolton, who offered a specific critique of American foreign policy in hot spots around the world, and even took an oblique swipe at the GOP’s libertarian wing. “Unfortunately, we see within our own party, a rising tide of what can only be called isolationism,” he said. The RJC conference has become a cattle call of sorts for prospective GOP presidential candidates, featuring speeches from prospective GOP presidential candidates Jeb Bush, Chris Christie and John Kasich.Walker brushed off a question from RJC executive director Matt Brooks about 2016, saying he’s focused on his own reelection this fall.“Any Republican who is talking about anything other than 2014 is doing a disservice to not only the party, but the country,” he said.

Governor John Kasich of Ohio

Kasich's Las Vegas speech encourages investment in Ohio

By*Joe VardonThe Columbus Dispatch**•**Saturday March 29, 2014 6:30 PMComments: 2**3**84**125LAS VEGAS – Gov. John Kasich finished his speech today to about 300 mostly wealthy, Jewish Republican donors from all across the United States with “in Ohio, we’re no longer a flyover, Sheldon.”*The “Sheldon” he addressed several times during his speech here is casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, whose Venetian hotel and casino is hosting the Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual spring conference. The event could have implications for the 2016 Republican presidential primary, observers say, because of the $93 million Adelson gave to Republican-leaning causes during the 2012 election.*“We do want you to come. We want you to invest,” Kasich said in closing and apparently speaking again to Adelson. “We want you to get to know us. Because Ohio really is the heart of it all.”*The conference drew national media attention not only because of Adelson, but also because of the others who spoke. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker — two names often mentioned as possible presidential candidates in 2016 — also spoke today, as did former U.S. Ambassador John Bolton. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush spoke Thursday night at a private dinner in an airport hangar.*If, as some had speculated, the speakers were here jockeying for Adelson’s support for a hypothetical presidential campaign, Kasich’s tack was far different from the others'. Kasich, who is up for re-election this year and has said repeatedly that keeping his governorship is his only goal, delivered a speech identical in concept to dozens he has given throughout Ohio in the past few months.*

Kasich, who is up for re-election this year and has said repeatedly that keeping his governorship is his only goal, delivered a speech identical in concept to dozens he has given throughout Ohio in the past few months.*

Kasich spoke of balancing budgets and job creation; he talked about expanding Medicaid without mentioning the words*Medicaid*orexpansion; and touched on topics that generally draw people’s attention but rarely elicit applause, such as reforming education, battling prescription-drug abuse and “helping people in the shadows.”*

Perhaps the lone difference between this speech and those he has given across Ohio was that Kasich repeatedly inserted Adelson’s name, as if speaking directly to him.*“It’s a nothingburger,” Republican Jewish Coalition executive director Matt Brooks said of Kasich’s Adelson references, downplaying them. “People were listening to the substance of the speech.”*

Adelson, who contributed about $11,400 to the Republican Governors Association's Ohio fund for Kasich in 2010, sat next to Kasich at lunch before his speech.*Adelson also walked into the room just as Christie began his speech but didn’t attend Walker’s or Bolton’s talks.*While Kasich made no mention of anything related to foreign policy until he was asked about it in a question-and-answer session, the other speakers focused on it.*

“We cannot have a world where our friends are unsure if we will be with them and our enemies unsure if we are going to be against them,” Christie said. “In New Jersey, no one needs to wonder if I am for them or against them.”*Walker said in his speech that foreign policy is “not an area governors typically look at,” but he said that Ronald Reagan’s breaking of the air-traffic-controllers’ union in 1981 “sent a message around the world.”*It “sent an even more powerful message to our adversaries that if you mess with the United States of America, there will be swift and certain action, and I believe we ought to be strong like that,” Walker said.*Former Vice President Dick Cheney is scheduled to address the conference at dinner tonight.

Todays Modern American Version of a Communist Political Party-The Democraps!

By the way, I am probably the only "Internet Poster" in the entire world , who for years now has called for A COMPLETE RE-DEFINITION of the word Communist/Communism. It should have always been defined as a CRIMINAL ACT or a CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION, THIEVES, THIEVERY, DICTATORIAL SERIAL MURDERER'S, MOBSTERS, Going against God, Anti-Family, Homosexual Sadist. Among a few words...

Quote:
communism[*kom-yuh-niz-uhm ]
noun
1. a theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state.
2. a system of social organization in which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating political party.
3. the principles and practices of the*Communist Party.
A whole lotta Democrat corruption going*on
By Michelle Malkin**•**March 28, 2014 04:33 AM

Has Nancy Pelosi seen a newspaper lately? (Pro tip, hon: Like the Obamacare monstrosity, you have to read it to find out what’s in it.) I’d love to see her face in the wake of the veritable epidemic of Democratic corruption now sweeping the country. Pelosi’s blink count must be off the charts.I’m going to make it easy on Pelosi and put all of the latest cases in one handy rogue’s gallery reference list. But let’s not be naive. It’s clear to me that the Barack Obama/Eric Holder DOJ is clearing the decks before the midterms. Prediction: The FBI’s GOP corruption shoe will drop right before the elections for maximum distraction and damage. For now, let’s take stock of the jackassery:

-The Dirty Democratic Mayors’ Club: Charlotte, N.C., Mayor Patrick Cannon, who bragged about partying with the Obamas to help grease the wheels for city projects, was arrested this week on federal corruption and influence-peddling charges. He’s accused of accepting gobs of cash payoffs and Las Vegas trips. The bust follows former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin’s conviction in January on corruption charges; former Trenton Mayor Tony Mack’s February conviction on cash bribes for a downtown parking garage; and former San Diego mayor and serial groper Bob Filner’s disgraceful resignation after conviction on sexual harassment-related charges; former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s conviction on extortion, bribery and conspiracy charges; and former Birmingham, Ala., Mayor Larry Langford’s corruption and bribery conviction.

-California state Democratic Sen. Leland Yee, gun grabber by day, alleged arms-trafficking gangsta by night: Yee made a decades-long career out of sanctimoniously demonizing gun owners and railing against the Second Amendment. He was arrested this week on corruption charges after an FBI sting found probable cause to believe Yee had conducted wire fraud and engaged in a conspiracy to deal firearms without a license and illegally import firearms. The Chinatown pol went so far as to discuss “details of the specific types of weapons” with a prospective donor. Yee is currently a candidate for California’s secretary of state office.

-Pennsylvania state Democratic Sen. LeAnna Washington, party animal: This week, a judge ruled that the Keystone State could proceed with a trial against Washington, who reportedly forced her legislative staff for eight years to use taxpayer time and money for an annual birthday party whose proceeds were diverted to her campaign account. She is charged with felony theft of services and felony conflict of interest. More than a half-dozen former employees blew the whistle. “I am the f—ing senator,” she screamed at one staffer who objected. “I do what the f— I want, and ain’t nobody going to change me.”

-Rhode Island state Democratic House Speaker Gordon Fox, multiple-raid target: The powerful Democrat, beloved by the left for his gay-marriage activism, announced last weekend that he is stepping down from office after FBI raids on his home and work office. Fox is the target of several criminal investigations by the U.S. attorney’s office, FBI, IRS and state police. Mum’s the word so far on the nature of the alleged criminal activity involved.

-California state Democratic Sen. Ronald Calderon, all in the corrupted family: Calderon is on a paid leave of absence after being hit with a 24-count federal indictment for bribery and corruption. His brother also was charged with multiple counts of money laundering and influence peddling. Prosecutors allege the legislator accepted nearly $100,000 in bribes, plane trips, gourmet meals and golf games in exchange for political favors. He also is accused of paying his daughter $39,000 for a phony office job and paying $40,000 in “consulting” fees for a campaign website that didn’t exist.

-California state Democratic Sen. Roderick Wright, lying liar: Also on paid leave, the entrenched Los Angeles-area politician is now fighting his January conviction on felony perjury, false declaration of candidacy and fraudulent voting charges. Wright claimed to live in a rented room in an Inglewood home within his district, but the jury found his true residence was outside the district in upscale Baldwin Hills. The jury found he lied on candidacy declarations and voter registration documents and fraudulently voted in five elections.

-New York state Democratic Assemblyman Bill Scarborough, shady jet-setter: The FBI and state authorities raided his home and offices as part of a probe into his travel voucher practices. He blamed a “tabloid hit job” by the New York Post over questionable per diem claims totaling $60,000.

-Illinois state Democratic House Rep. Keith Farnham, child porn probe suspect: After sponsoring two bills to increase penalties for child porn possession, Farnham was the subject of state and federal raids last week on his home … for possession of child porn. Over the weekend, he resigned his seat citing “serious health issues.” There’s a euphemism.

CNN) -*Former San Diego Mayor Bob Filner was sentenced Monday to 90 days in home confinement, three years' probation, and a series of fines totaling about $1,500 for assaulting three women while in office.

http://www.cnn.com/2013/12/09/justic...ing/?c=&page=0

The 71-year-old*pleaded guilty in October*to forciblykissing or grabbing three women at campaign events or at City Hall -- one a felony false imprisonment charge, the other two misdemeanor battery charges. Filner entered the guilty plea under a deal with prosecutors.

The three women were among 19 who accused him of offensive behavior during his tenure as mayor and as a congressman.Filner will not serve prison time under the plea deal.GPS monitoring will track his whereabouts during his confinement. He'll be allowed to go out for medical and therapy appointments, religious services and meetings tied to his probation. He'll also be allowed to leave his apartment but stay within the apartment complex.

Quote:
"I want to apologize to my family who have stood by me during this ordeal, to my loyal staff and supporters, to the citizens of San Diego, and most sincerely to the women I have hurt and offended," Filner said in prepared remarks at the start of the hearing."To all of you, I make the same promise I made to my family: to earn back your trust and my integrity no matter how long it takes and no matter what I have to do. I've already started on my path and I am grateful to all those who are helping me."
But the prosecution said Filner's behavior harmed the women and the city. Referring to the three women as Jane Does 1, 2, and 3, the state said Filner humiliated, scared, embarrassed, sexualized and devalued them.Prosecutors also noted that after taking part in two weeks of treatment earlier this year, Filner still denied his crimes "and insisted that he was the victim of a lynch mob."Filner resigns, says he faced 'lynch mob' hysteriaFilner's attorneys said they did not dispute any of the facts stated by the prosecution.None of the victims chose to be in court for the sentencing. The felony charge said Filner used force to restrain a woman at a fund-raising event March 6. The misdemeanor charges say he kissed a woman on the lips without her consent at City Hall on April 6 and grabbed a woman's buttock after she asked to have her picture taken with him at a rally on May 25.Filner was elected mayor in November 2012 after serving in Congress for 20 years.Filner's accusersAfter veering between contrition and defiance, he resigned August 30. He offered a "deep apology" but also said he was the victim of the "hysteria of a lynch mob."Under the plea deal, which was announced in October, Filner would be prohibited from ever seeking or holding public office again, the attorney general's office said. Filner also would not be able to vote, serve on a jury or own a firearm while on probation.Filner also will have to give up pension credit for his time in the mayor's office after March 6, the date of the first offense.

IN: Buffie “Mouthy” McFadyen Will Run for CD3

Published on*February 11, 2014 byColoradoPeakPolitics

What have we done to deserve such a fantastic gift?* Was it something*we said*that inspired Colorado Democrat Party Chair Rick Palacio to find a candidate, any candidate?* And a candidate they found. The Democratic candidate for CD3 will be [drum roll] former Democratic state representative and current Pueblo County Commissioner Mouthy McFayden.* Sorry, we mean Buffie McFadyen.* Instead of writing a whole new post about Mouthy, we would just like to revisit the one we posted last November McFadyen found herself in quite an awkward predicament.* From last year:

Quote:
Former Democratic leader in the State House and current Pueblo County Commissioner Buffie McFadyen was the recipient of some special treatment by police during a potential DUI stop in Pueblo.* She was caught in a rather awkward situation —parked in a dirt lot at night, intoxicated and with a man who isn’t her husband. But she didn’t get a DUI – instead she got a ride home.*
But, it gets even better.* We have subsequently learned that McFadyen and her companion, the head of the Pueblo Democratic Party Ron Greenwell weren’t just drinking buddies.* According to*KRDO, they may or may not also benudists?* We couldn’t even make this stuff up, folks, if we tried.

Quote:
Last January, Pueblo County Commissioner Buffie McFadyen told a Pueblo County Deputy that she and County Democratic Party Chair Ron Greenwell had just been dropped off by friends at a commuter lot on Swallows Road and Highway 50 in Pueblo West after spending “family night” at Desert Reef Hot Spring. While the Desert Reef Hot Spring is clothing optional on most days of the week, according to the website, “All day Friday is designated a suit only day and will not be clothing optional.”* McFadyen and Greenwell were at the springs on January 25th…a Friday.
Look, we’re not going to judge if McFadyen has…fans.* But, nudists, sorry.* We’re not talking about scenes from “Eyes Wide Shut” here – these are average Americans.* As a whole, we’re kind of pasty and flabby.

See the video here:

…So, meet your new Democratic candidate for CD3…!

A Shocking Number The average African-American family is poorer than the average family in India.By*Kevin D. Williamson

Quote:
The phrase “waving the bloody shirt” grew popular in the South as a description of Republicans’ alleged exaggeration of the crimes of the Ku Klux Klan, the paramilitary division of the Democratic party. It is an irony of history that waving the bloody shirt has in the Age of Obama become the Democrats’ primary mode of discourse. Oppose the Affordable Care Act?*Racism. Like the Second Amendment?*Racism. Black Barbie is on sale for half off, but white Barbie is full price?*Racism. Black holes sucking the energy out of your quadrant?*Why single out the black ones? Racism!Waving the bloody shirt is not only about making an emotional appeal — it’s a strategy for distraction. It became a bitter joke in the Soviet Union — whether the issue was the crimes of Stalin or the fact that the Lada was a piece of junk, the answer was always the same:*A u vas negrov linchuyut. The same principle is at work in today’s Democratic commentariat: As Americans start to notice what a fiasco Obamacare is . . . Oh, look! A Confederate flag! There is really nothing more satisfying to liberals than a Confederate flag sighting, though I wonder what they’d make of the fact that in my corner of Texas it is not unheard-of to see black men wearing Dixie belt buckles or T-shirts. (All of our necks are just different shades of red.) When Brad Paisley sings about the Confederate flag, it’s like Christmas morning for*Touré. Yet, despite the*daft insistence of Joan Walsh*and the Affiliated Suburban Pearl-Clutchers of America, there is no neo-Confederate revanche just around the corner. The idea is, however, a useful distraction. But a distraction from what?
From $4,995

Fifty years into the Democrats’ declaration of a war on poverty and President Kennedy’s first executive order for affirmative action, while spending $300 million a year on*worthless diversity workshops*and singing endless verses of “We Shall Overcome,” after enduring endless posturing from Barack Obama and the moral preening of his admirers, that is what black American families have to show for themselves: an average household net worth of $4,955. The average white household in these United States has a*net worth of $110,729. Black Americans’ median net worth is less than 5 percent that of white Americans.By way of comparison, black South Africans under apartheid had a median net worth about*6.8 percent that of white South Africans. Repeating: Black Americans are worse off relative to their white countrymen than black South Africans under apartheid were to theirs, a fact to which former*Washington Post*reporter Jon Jeter has drawn attention and from which he has drawn all the wrong conclusions. (Muppet News Flash:*Washington Post*straight-news reporter turns out to be a garden-variety liberal.) Philadelphia mayor John Street used to brag that “the brothers and sisters are running the city,” which would be more of a boast in a city with less criminal governance. Mayor Ray Nagin, whose fraud/conspiracy/money-laundering/bribery/tax-evasion trial should be getting under way any moment now, liked to promise that New Orleans would remain a “chocolate city.” A generation of one-party rule based on racial politics was enough to*doom Detroit.*Outside of the womb, the most dangerous place for a black American to be is in a*city run by Democrats.

TEA PARTY: REJECT U.S. MEDDLING IN UKRAINE

Exclusive: Jason Jones and John Zmirak warn Republicans of great risks of interfering

Published: 03/02/2014 at 5:14 PM

Are you willing to send your child to die for Nikita Khruschev’s legacy? As history buffs will remember, Khrushchev was the man who brought the United States to the brink of nuclear war, and civilization to the very edge of extinction, in 1962 when he stuck his nose deep into our backyard by placing Soviet nuclear missiles 90 miles off our shore in Cuba.

Dying and killing for Khrushchev is precisely what any use of American troops in the current Ukrainian quagmire would amount to – since the flashpoint of conflict that could spark a global war is the status of the ancient Russian province of Crimea. That classically Russian region was arbitrarily transferred in 1954 by Soviet dictator Nikita Khrushchev without the approval of its Russian-speaking inhabitants. This capricious move hardly mattered at the time, since the whole Soviet Union was a vast and politically uniform totalitarian state. But that transfer became much more meaningful when that evil empire collapsed in 1990 – leaving Ukraine independent and the vast Russian Black Sea fleet headquartered in what was now a foreign country. Ukraine proper (without the grafted on appendage of the Crimea) was itself hopelessly divided among those who spoke Ukrainian and those who spoke Russian, and among Eastern rite Catholics and three separate, mutually hostile Eastern Orthodox churches – not to mention the restive Crimean Tatars, who’d survived Stalin’s attempted genocide in the 1930s.

Ukraine’s independence was a great historic victory for one of the martyred peoples of Europe.* Along with Poland and Byelorus, it was one of the lands that had suffered the most from the genocides and brutal wars launched by the vicious totalitarian Soviet and German regimes.* Some six to 10 million Ukrainians were intentionally starved to death by their Soviet occupiers, as part of the utopian Marxist plan for collectivizing agriculture. When the Germans invaded, they quickly proved that they were no liberators. Ukrainians, along with other Slavs, were to be treated as subhumans, fit only for grinding labor – and eventual deportation to death beyond the Urals, to make room for “Aryan” colonists. Or so the Nazis planned.

But Ukrainian independence in 1990 was also a dicey prospect, given the centuries-long Russian history of occupying and dominating that region. One advantage Ukraine had was an arsenal of nuclear weapons it had inherited from the Soviets. Had those weapons been left in its hands, Ukraine would have been forever safe from foreign aggression. But the U.S. and other nations intervened and convinced Ukraine to give those weapons back to Russia as part of a deal in 1994, in which we replaced its nuclear safety blanket with – a promise to defend Ukraine’s borders ourselves. That’s right. The geniuses of the Clinton administration thought world peace would be best served by making the dubious, artificial borders between Russia and Ukraine a trip wire for war between the United States and Russia. And now some saber-rattling Americans are calling for us to honor that thoughtless promise.

The situation in Ukraine is tragic. Every major political party is hopelessly corrupt, and a fierce hostility divides the western Ukrainians, who regard themselves as a recently freed captive nation, from those in the east who look to Russia as their patron and protector. The current crisis, brought on by a feckless attempt by the European Union to pull Ukraine out of the Russian sphere of influence, has seen the overthrow of a legitimately elected president by rioters in the streets – and his headlong flight for his life to the Russian border. Now the Russian speakers of Crimea want to peel their region away from the pro-EU faction that controls Kiev, and Putin’s Russia has chosen to help them.

Do you understand these events well enough to decide who is in the right? Neither do we. Nor do the same talking heads who promised, a decade ago, that bringing democracy to Iraq would be a “cakewalk,” which would “fund itself” through the oil revenues of a new, pro-American government presiding peacefully from Baghdad.

Quote:
Eleven years, thousands of American lives and trillions of dollars later, Iraq is still a shattered and bloody “failed state” – and “experts” such as William Kristol and John McCain, who helped to promote that war, are somehow still taken seriously.

Now, as we crawl up to the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War I – a massive conflict that began over fractious Slavic provinces that the combatants knew little about – we hear the voices of self-important commentators who claim that “American values” are at stake, and American “strength” must be put on display. In 1914, German, Austrian, French, Russian, Serbian and British prestige were all on the line – and the leaders of each of those nations put that prestige ahead of prudence, sanity and the sanctity of human life, with the outcome of more than 10 million dead, the destruction of three of those nations and the rise to power of the Bolsheviks, then the Nazis.

We should not imitate Khruschev by sticking our nose into Russia’s business, not even in defense of what warmongering idealists claim are American values. America has no more business tinkering in Ukraine than China has meddling in Mexico. We do not fully understand what is happening over there, and we have no stake in it. If we got involved, the Russians would rightly see us trying to treat their country as our colony – and they would respond with outraged national pride. And the Russians, unlike the Ukrainians, kept their nukes. Is it anything less than insane for us to risk a genocidal nuclear confrontation to safeguard Khrushchev’s whim, or to back the demands of one set of rioters against another?

Quote:
If the tea party is really serious about shrinking big government, now is the time to walk that talk. Nothing grows government or breaks budgets like reckless wars of choice. So tea-party voters need to start making calls and sending emails to smack down those Republicans who opportunistically call President Obama “weak” for behaving responsibly. Any Republican who shouts for confrontation with Russia deserves to be crushed in the primaries by patriotic voters who refuse to waste the trillions of dollars and countless thousands of of lives that any conflict with Russia would cost us.

Quote:
As Christians, we know that war should be the very last resort, once every other possible means has been tried to resolve a conflict. Do we say this because we are cowards? Or sickly humanitarians who prefer dishonor to death? No, we say it because we are realists, and we know what war amounts to: A carte blanche for all the worst forms of human behavior, from mass killing to gang rape, from mass theft to organized torture. That is what war*really*is, and those who chomp at the bit for the chance to exert military power ought to be labeled as what they are: the pornographers of violence.
Let Americans who crave the opportunity to “talk tough” and assert themselves find some other way to raise their low testosterone levels. Our soldiers didn’t sign up to be the plastic counters in these people’s game of Risk.

Democrat Donor Donald Sterling Caught on Tape Spewing Racist Comments

Posted by Jim Hoft on Saturday, April 26, 2014, 4:24 PM

L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling told his GF he does NOT want her bringing black people to his games … including Magic Johnson … and it’s ALL on tape.

TMZ Sports has obtained audio of Sterling making the racist declaration during a heated argument on April 9th with V. Stiviano … after she posted a photo on Instagram posing with Magic.

Sterling rails on Stiviano — who ironically is black and Mexican — for putting herself out in public with a black person (she has since taken the pic down). But it doesn’t end there. You have to listen to the audio to fully grasp the magnitude of Sterling’s racist worldview. Among the comments:

– “It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people. Do you have to?” (3:30)

– “You can sleep with [black people]. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is not to promote it on that … and not to bring them to my games.” (5:15)

– “I’m just saying, in your lousy f******* Instagrams, you don’t have to have yourself with, walking with black people.” (7:45)

– “…Don’t put him [Magic] on an Instagram for the world to have to see so they have to call me. And don’t bring him to my games.” (9:13)

Sterling has a documented history of allegedly racist behavior — he’s been sued twice by the federal government for allegedly refusing to rent apartments to Blacks and Latinos.

Donald Sterling’s Girlfriend — Who Is V. Stiviano?! [Pics]

Before she posted the photo that started a race war withDonald Sterling, his then-girlfriend V. Stiviano flooded the web with scorchin’ hot photos showing off the perks of dating an NBA owner.

We broke the story … Sterling blasted Stiviano for posting a picture of herself on Instagram posing with Magic Johnson. Sterling told her not to be seen with black people and not to bring them to his games.

Now, we’ve learned … Stiviano is a model in her young-20s … who LOOOVES posting hot bikini pics of herself. She also loved posting pics at Clippers games.

Well, she used to anyway … *No word if her globetrotting lifestyle will come to an end after the fight that ensued with Sterling — but at least, she’ll always have the photos.*

Magic Johnson blasts Donald Sterling

BY BILL PLASCHKE April 26, 2014, 7:15 p.m.

An Instagram photo of Magic Johnson posing with Donald Sterling's female friend V. Stiviano has become a historical document.

After TMZ released unverified audio of Sterling purportedly making racist comments about the photo, it will be the last time anyone will see Johnson at a Clippers game at Staples Center.

"I will never again set foot in Staples Center when the Clippers are playing," Johnson said Saturday afternoon in a phone interview. "I know where I'm not wanted."

Johnson was furious upon hearing the comments, which were aimed at all African Americans, and is calling upon the NBA to take serious action that could include stripping Sterling of his ownership duties.

"Something has to be done, and if that means him losing the team, then that has to happen," Johnson said. "The league has to come down hard and make a statement.''

Sterling dominated the sports world Saturday after a transcript of a tape allegedly had him berating Stiviano for being seen with Johnson.

"It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you're associating with black people," the man says in the audio. "Do you have to?"

The man added, "You can sleep with [black people)], you can bring them in, you can do whatever you want. The little I ask you is to not promote on that [Instagram] … and not to bring them to my games."

Johnson said he was stunned by the ignorance of the statements.

"This is so crazy, he doesn't want African Americans to come to his game, he doesn't want them to be part of anything over there, yet he wants his team of mostly African Americans to win him a championship?" Johnson said. "You don't want us in your building, but you want us to win a title for you?''

Johnson said the comments are particularly hurtful in a diverse city like Los Angeles, as the words betrayed the very people upon whose loyalty Sterling has long depended.

"There are African Americans living in his building, African Americans buying his season tickets, African Americans putting money in his pockets, yet he doesn't want them near him?" Johnson said. "He tells them don't bother to come, he doesn't want them in his arena? In the most diverse city in the United States? How can somebody like that be running a sports team?"

Johnson feels that Sterling's statements would validate years of racism charges against the owner, a history that Johnson feels should be enough to strip Sterling of his powers.

Quote:
"I guess he proved Elgin Baylor right when Elgin sued him for this," Johnson said. "Nobody wanted to pay attention to it back then, but now, he showed his true colors, and how can you own a sports team and be like that? Aren't sports the one thing that brings us together?"

(Baylor, the former Clippers general manger, filed a wrongful-termination suit against Sterling several years ago and a jury rejected the claim.)

Johnson said his biggest concern was for the Clippers players and coaches, and he phoned Coach Doc Rivers on Saturday afternoon to offer his support and encourage them to keep playing.

"I feel really bad for them, they are trying to win a championship while, at the same time, most of them are African American men who have to explain this to their children, it's such an awkward position," Johnson said.
Though a one-game boycott in the playoffs might have seemed like a strong message, Johnson said it was the wrong message.

"I would never want them to do that. Please, don't even attempt to do that," he said. "They need to stay focused on their dreams, they worked eight months to put themselves in this position, they have a chance to win a championship, they need to go for it. Guys like me will handle the other stuff."

Johnson said Sterling's basketball investment will take a big hit later, when the Clippers try to attract free agents.

"Right now, in that area, they're done, that's it, you have an owner saying you don't like African Americans, you're trying to recruit players, that's not going to happen," Johnson said.

If nothing else, Donald Sterling has already lost one notable spectator.

Major Obama donor avoids jail time after brutally beating girlfriend

April 25, 2014 by Free Beacon

A high-dollar Obama donor who was caught on video brutally beating his girlfriend got off with 25 hours of community service last week after he pled guilty to domestic battery charges.

CCTV footage caught Gurbaksh Chahal, the CEO of San Francisco tech startup RadiumOne, kicking his girlfriend 117 times, including blows to the head, and trying to smother her with a pillow during a vicious 30-minute assault.

He faced 45 felony charges until the footage was deemed inadmissible. As a result, Chahal has managed to avoid jail time, the Daily Mail reported on Thursday.

According to police reports, Chahal also threated to kill his girlfriend several times.

Silicon Valley executives have come under scrutiny for their political activities in recent weeks. The CEO of web browser company Mozilla was forced to step down after it was revealed that he donated $1,000 to an anti-gay marriage proposition in 2008.

Chahal’s political contributions indicate more liberal sensibilities. He has donated more than $100,000 since 2011, all of which went the Democratic Party and Democratic candidates.

Those contributions include $81,600 to the Democratic National Committee and $5,000 to President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign.

RadiumOne’s board of directors includes Steve Westly, a major Obama donor who came under scrutiny after four companies that he invested in received stimulus subsidies while Westly sat on an advisory board directing the disbursement of stimulus money.

Chahal has visited the White House twice, on Nov. 30, 2011 to see the president, and on Dec. 14, 2012, to see the president and the first lady, according to White House visitor logs.

Chahal also greeted Obama at a dinner in San Francisco in 2012.

It was not immediately clear whether activists who boycotted Mozilla for its former CEO’s opposition to gay marriage would also target RadiumOne and other Chahal startups.

What do Rick Perry, Sean Penn, Sheldon Adelson and Chris Christie have in common?

NEW YORK (JTA) — The*last time*New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie spoke at a venue attended by Sheldon Adelson, he alienated the Republican Party mega-donor and other hawkish pro-Israel Jews by referring to the West Bank as “the occupied territories.

”Sunday night at a gala awards program in Manhattan honoring Adelson and hosted by Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, Christie avoided the topic of Israel altogether.

But Sean Penn didn’t.
Held in the cathedral-like Cipriani restaurant, the dinner for Boteach’s*This World: The Values Network*featured an unusual lineup of big-name guests. Among those joining Christie, Penn and Adelson were*Texas Gov. Rick Perry; Nobel laureate*Elie Wiesel;*Israel’s U.S. ambassador,*Ron Dermer;*the Somali-born women’s rights activist and Islam critic*Ayaan Hirsi Ali;*human rights activist and author John Prendergast; Harvard law professor and*Alan Dershowitz;*Jewish philanthropist Michael Steinhardt; and Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.

The dinner, at $750 per person, seemed to serve a mix of purposes: part awards ceremony, part fundraiser and part pro-Israel rally. It was also very much a celebration of The Values Network and its founder, the well-connected and media-loving Boteach.

Christie calls for more aggressive foreign policy

Youtube video of Chris Christy

Associated Press*By*STEVE PEOPLESMay 18, 2014 8:52 PM

NEW YORK (AP) — Courting powerful Jewish donors for the second time in two months, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie called Sunday for a more aggressive foreign policy that defends American values abroad — even in "in some very messy, difficult places."

Quote:
"The rest of the world watches in desperation and hope that America will realize and act upon once again its indispensable place in the world," Christie, a prospective Republican presidential contender, said in a keynote address Sunday at the Champions of Jewish Values International awards gala in New York. "We must lead."

He charged that America must represent the strongest military and economic power, but also "the strongest moral power for what is good and what is right in the world."

The appearance offered Christie a second chance to impress deep-pocketed Jewish donors after stumbling in a recent speech to the Republican Jewish Coalition. Sunday's event also featured Gov. Rick Perry of Texas, Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey and major political donor Sheldon Adelson.
The gathering comes as donors — none bigger than Adelson — begin to size up the crowded field of potential Republican presidential candidates ahead of the 2016 contest. While billed as a nonpartisan affair, there were political references throughout the evening.

Asked if he was running for president, Perry told reporters: "I'm being governor for the next nine months. To be real honest with you I don't know what I'm gonna do after that."

Christie did not talk about his own presidential prospects in a speech that offered aggressive rhetoric but few specifics. He didn't mention Israel, but insisted that America's leaders must send "clear and consistent signals" to those nations it supports and those it doesn't while promoting America's values

Quote:
"We need to stand once again loudly for these values," he said. "And sometimes that's going to mean standing in some very messy, difficult places. Standing long and hard for those things that we believe in."

He added: "We will either lead or disappoint. Those are the only two choices. Unfortunately, today, in my opinion, America is disappointing. But it's not too late."
Christie was seated at the same table as Adelson, who figures to play a prominent role in the selection of the next Republican presidential nominee. It was their second meeting over the last two months.

POLITICO poll shows mounting danger for Democrats

By*ALEXANDER BURNS*| 5/19/14 5:02 AM EDT*Updated: 5/20/14 12:54 AM EDT

Quote:
President Barack Obama’s job approval slump and voters’ entrenched wariness of his health care law are dogging Democrats ahead of the 2014 midterm elections, and Republicans have captured a lead in the areas home to the year’s most competitive races, according to a new POLITICO*poll.

In the congressional districts and states where the 2014 elections will actually be decided, likely voters said they would prefer to vote for a Republican over a Democrat by 7 points, 41 percent to 34 percent. A quarter of voters said they were unsure of their preference.

Among these critical voters, Obama’s job approval is a perilous 40 percent, and nearly half say they favor outright repeal of the Affordable Care Act. Sixty percent say they believe the debate over the law is not over, compared with 39 percent who echo the president’s position and say the ACA debate has effectively concluded.

How Big a Wave?

The big question for 2014: Will we see a GOP ripple … or a tsunami?

By LARRY J. SABATO May 12, 2014

Last week, Republican primary voters passed their first Senate test, producing a North Carolina nominee, Thom Tillis, who is merely*imperfect, not*catastrophic. After the disasters of recent years, national Republicans will happily take it.

Quote:
The North Carolina result did nothing to change the expectation among*most observers*that the Republicans have a 50-50 or better shot at taking the Senate majority.

It might even have enhanced those odds. The conventional wisdom is reasonable: We know that the president is unpopular, the president’s party typically performs poorly in midterms and the Democrats are overextended on this year’s Senate map.

One of the ways the Republicans could hurt their chances is by running bad candidates in some of these races. Tillis might turn out to be that kind of candidate, but he was clearly the most credible nominee in the primary field.
So where is the Senate right now? Hypothetically, there’s still a wide range of potential outcomes – and all the likeliest ones involve at least some kind of Republican wave, perhaps delivering the magic six-seat gain that would dethrone Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Let’s adopt a mariner’s, or a meteorologist’s, terminology to make sense of the situation. Democrats hope for no wave at all: Something akin to “beach week,” the post-finals getaway that some of my University of Virginia students are celebrating this very instant on the Atlantic seaboard. Beach week for the Democrats, though, is about as likely as the undergrads’ dream of putting off adulthood.

More realistically, Democrats can hope for fearsome-sounding waves that crash loudly but do little structural damage. Republicans, on the other hand, are rooting for an impressive tidal wave, if not a full-fledged historic tsunami.

The following table offers a wide range of Senate outcomes, along with their likelihoods.

New York Times Interactive Election Results 2014

What to Watch: May 20

Quote:
Key primaries:*Kentucky|*Georgia*|*Oregon

Kentucky, U.S. Senate: Senator Mitch McConnell, the Republican Senate leader, is expected to easily beat Matt Bevin, a Tea Party candidate whose once-promising campaign has endured a series of stumbles.

Georgia, U.S. Senate: With a 50 percent threshold to avoid a runoff and a crowded Republican field, the two candidates who garner the most primary votes will likely face off again on July 22. Representative Jack Kingston and David Perdue, a businessman, are the front-runners going into Tuesday's primary.

Oregon, U.S. Senate: Monica Wehby and Jason Conger are the leading Republican candidates. Ms. Wehby is a Portland pediatric neurosurgeon and moderate Republican who is supported by the more mainstream elements of the party, while State Representative Jason Conger is the favorite among conservatives.

U.S. Senate

After a heated primary contest, conservatives claimed victory in Nebraska, where the Senate candidate they preferred won the Republican nomination in a race the Tea Party had made a priority. The nominee, Benjamin E. Sasse — the president of a small college and a former Bush administration official — captured almost half the votes in defeating both of his top challengers, Sid Dinsdale, a wealthy banker, and Shane Osborn, a former state treasurer.

Democrat Party Fears Realized as Young Black Males Defect to GOP

MAY 20, 2014 /*3 COMMENTS /110 VIEWS

Quote:
Beset by scandals on both the national and statewide level, Democrats find themselves in danger of historic losses in the 2014 midterms, as in addition to the “angry white males” they find themselves facing a new threat, that of the “angry young black male.”

A growing trend of young black males defecting to the GOP has caused fears among Democratic Party officials who have largely ignored the concerns of a constituency that has been loyal for decades.
It is ironic that with the election of the first African-American President, the party that garners roughly 90% of the black vote finds itself in danger of losing the young men of this community, not just for one election cycle, but for generations to come.

Despite its rhetoric and numerous ties to the African-American community, young black black males have become increasingly frustrated with a party they feel promotes policies which emasculate them and offer few opportunities for them to achieve the American dream.

Much of the elation that came from Obama’s historic political achievement turned into an eye-opening experience for many black men, who noticed the gulf between the feel-good rhetoric of Democrats as hollow as inner-city unemployment has grown during the tenure of the first black President.

Quote:
“I’ll be honest, when Obama announced his candidacy, I was ecstatic.” notes consultant Shermichael Singleton, who as a high-school senior lobbied the local school superintendent to attend an Obama campaign rally in Dallas, TX when first denied by his principal. “It was a great experience. I applauded his speech and him for running,” although this early enthusiasm has since changed, “but I’ve been extremely disappointed.”

Following high school, Singleton attended Morehouse College, where he was instrumental in organizing the first College Republican group at the traditionally black college. He noted that this caused some raised eyebrows, but overall found support for this stance.

“Singleton, we think you’re crazy as hell,” he laughed, “but brother, we support you and glad you’re standing up for what you believe.” Six years into Obama’s presidency, he may be finding more support than he ever thought he might.

Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell's win continues GOP establishment surge

Quote:
Incumbent Republicans appeared poised to cruise to victory in key primary elections Tuesday, offering fresh evidence that the party’s establishment wing has successfully neutralized outside conservative groups that have vexed congressional leaders since the rise of the tea party.

In Kentucky, Sen. Mitch McConnell, the party’s leader in the Senate, easily won renomination for a sixth term against a tea-party-backed challenger who hoped to tap into tea party activists’ distrust of GOP leaders in Washington. Shortly after polls closed, the Associated Press declared McConnell the winner.
