That's not a 'G' in Liber AL. Look at it again. It's an uvelor (spelling?) implosive phonetic symbol. Look in that International Phonetic Dictionary published in 1800 something or other.
Oh, and the X isn't a capital letter. It's a little x. This is actually a phonetic symbol too.
It stands for the letter x in Greek - Chi, sounds like Key and looks like an x.
