all this hullabalu about the cadmen affair, Harper suing elections canada and the liberal party. The fact that every single bill passed in the house has to be a vote of confidence frankly disturbes me. when did every decision the government makes become a vote of non-confidence? hmm, seems to me that the Neo-cons currently controling parliament are playing fast and loose with the law just like that dirty bastard Mulrooney. At least he had common sense not to lie right at the faces of the people. and now we find out Mulrooney paid off a german arms runner.... god sakes parliament hill is turning into the white house
every political party is corrupt the Liberals did alot of damage and now all this garbage from the Conservatives.
Frankly like most canadians im tired of all the bickering and bitching going on in the house of commons, when are our elected representatives going to start governing in the best interest's of canadians like we pay them to?
The Liberals lost the last election, so they decided to enter a conspiracy with the NDP and theBloc to overturn that election. They got caught in the act, and their plan failed.
The reason why every vote is effectively a "Vote of Confidence' is because the Liberals are trying to destroy the government. They don't give a damn about Canada, they just want power. And the NDP has betrayed everything it has ever stood for, in its attempt to get a couple of Cabinet seats.
All of the parties to this conspiracy to thwart the electorate have hurt themselves badly. It was the most bald faced power grab in the history of Canada. The parties to it showed nothing but contempt for the voters, and for Canada itself.
Yes, but can any country function for long without a government? No they can't.
The government on the whole tends to reflect the people of the country. That is true in Canada (where the majority of the people want the government to take care of them) and in the USA, (where it is rapidly becoming a country where the people want the government to take care of them).
People tend to forget that when the government provides, it also has control.
People wanted government provided medical care in canada. They got it, but along with it they also got rationed care, and who gets rationed is determined by the government. because of that rationing, my paternal grandmother died for the lack of medical care.
Before much longer, thsi will also be true in the US. More and more people believe that trhe government must provide haelth care for all, It will happenn some day, and when it does, the government will determine who does, and who does not, get the care.
No, governments need not be a bloody farce, they only become that when that is really what the majority of the people want it to be.
No, it is very true. The people wanted a socialist, and they turned the government over to radical Democrats and Mr. Obama.
They can always vote out any government they don't approve of.
Just because YOU don't like the government does not mean that the majority of the people in this country don't.
That's something that you appear not to understand, that you do NOT speak for the entire country. Neither do you and your limited circle of friends. The polls show that the people of this country overwhelmingly accept the radical dems and their new President.
No, it is YOU that does not know how the system works.
The parties choose the person that their supporters want to be the candidate.
The third (and fourth and fifth) parties can not get any support, because the people don't really support them. They have their fanatics, but in reality, the vast majority of the people of this country do NOT support the positions of those parties.
And YOU may be controlled, but I am not. No politician controls me, nor does any politician control anyone that I know.
Ron Paul is the darling of the ultra right wingers. he couldn't get enough votes, in any primary, to even make a blip. It wasn;t because he couldn't get his message out, he could and did. It was that the people didn't want a damn thing to do with his message.
People do not want to go back to an 18th century world. That's what he adbocates, a society like the one he dreams of, where we don't interact with any other country, we all have our tiny little farms, and we cut ourselves off from the world.
Too bad, but that world is gone, and can never return. Anyone that believes it can come back is simply deluded, like Ron Paul is. The vast majority of the people don't want to live like that, nor could they even if the government tried to impose such a thing.
And that's the ONLY way such a lifestyle could ever come into being. It would have to be forced upon the people,
