Default Wiretapping

First of all, Bush didn't go through FISA for wiretapping authorization and now he's placing the blame on the telecom communication companies who assisted him and asking that Congress shield them from lawsuits?

Huh?

What were they suppose to do?

Say no to the White House?

Give me a break!

What new and improved surveillance bill did Obama vote yes for?

I thought this bill was about shielding the telecom communication companies from lawsuits due to their cooperation with the White House in this endeavor.

FISA is the entity responsible for granting the President authoriity to wiretap and he bypassed them when he began this operation.

Obama did vote yes for the bill, this action contracdicted his initial denunciation of the bill.
This is getting weirder and weirder.

Anyone with a link to the BILL that just passed, please post it here.

Obama says the bill restores FISA.

FISA was never dismantled.

The President of his own accord did not seek the approval for "warrantless" surveillance and wiretapping through FISA.

This is SPIN!

Basically, the bill grants immunity to the telecom communication companies that assisted our criminal government.

But, what else would you expect from these corporate conglomerates?

Excuse me, but passing a Bill to hold the Telecom communication companies harmless for eavesdropping at the direction of the President is nothing but SPIN.

Seems to me the President is the person who committed the illegal act when he bypassed FISA and ordered the telecom companies to assist him in his endeavor to spy on Americans without a warrant.
