Default Is the England Football Team Jinxed?

The England football team were booed off the pitch at the end of their disappointing 0-0 performance against Algeria. And an irate fan who got into the England dressing room confronted David Beckham with his team's poor performance, asking for an explanation. However Beckham was simply lost for words.

And who can forget the goalkeeper Green's monumental fluff against the US team resulting in a 1-1 draw? TV commentators made the excuse that 'Green took his eye off the ball' but when you watch the replay you can clearly see him looking right at the ball when it bounces off a hand and into the goal.

But its the same story every time for England.

Why can't the England football team perform just as well as the likes of Italy, Spain and even Germany, and past French sides (forgetting the present one)? England is just as big on football as these other countries and has a population to rival the Germans so why can't the England team play the same quality football as a national side?

By way of explanation a comparison could perhaps be drawn with the present French side whose team is in complete disarray and their performance dismal:

And the captain of the French side is claiming that there is a traitor in their ranks who is deliberately letting the side down:

World Cup 2010: Patrice Evra insists 'traitor' must be found - Telegraph

Is the England football team jinxed?
