I really wish Dr. Sanjay of CNN would not imply that WE don't know the affects to humans when exposed to high levels of radiation.

If we don't know the affects to humans when exposed to high levels of radiation, how then do we know that taking an IODINE pill can assist in warding off the destruction to organs that he describes occurs to humans when exposed to high doses (levels) of radiation?
