Something big is going on at the website Oil Trading Academy. I think there is a secret out about the oil market, that it's rigged by a computer, and they are making fortunes there. That's the word on all the boards.

I'm certain that whatever secret there is about the oil market, isn't on that website.

Besides, the oil market and their bilking of consumers at the gas pumps isn't a secret.

They charge whatever they want for oil; whenever they want because they own the oil and set the prices.

Ain't no secret about that, pal.

The problem with oil is that it acts almost like a monopoly, not because of any collusion among oil companies, but because of the behavior of the American consumer. Americans will drive their cars no matter what, and that gives the suppliers ultimate control of the price. You cant really blame them for taking the price the consumer is willing to pay.

Perhaps blaming city zoning, which limits a persons dwelling resources near their employment, would be more appropriate to explain oil as a utility service.

Certainly poor city planning doesn't help matters much, but unlike most commodities Americans really don't change their behavior in response to price fluctuations. Normally markets are the most democratic of processes.
