Default 3.5 Billion yo Vitrified Stone Structures on the Ancient Surface of Mars

Update ..

NASA's Curiosity Explores Mars' Once Glacier-Covered Area of Gale Crater .. Mars Science Laboratory

Quote:
Curiosity Rover landed in 154 km (96 mi) diameter Gale Crater, where the initial impact blew away the overburden deposited by fallout from successive eruptions of volcanoes on the Tharsis Shield, and exposed the ancient surface of Mars.

Gale Crater is dominated by Aeolis Mons a 5.5 km (18,000 ft) central peak NASA has named Mount Sharp, which formed when material displaced by the impacting body was propelled to the surface.

The floor of the crater and Mount Sharp have numerous square features and outlines, that fall into three broad categories ..

And other walls made from hewn stone blocks bound together with once molten material, whose outlines survived the impact that formed the crater.

The same outlines are visible in silt deposited by the lahar that flooded the Mangala and Athabasca Valles, an estimated 3.5 billion yrs ago.

[2] The stone platform and associated blockwork at "Dingo Gap" at left that does not appear to be vitrified, and which in no way resembles the cruder vitrified square platforms and walls, nor the vitrified block and stone walls seen elsewhere.

So the DG construct was either built prior to the volcanic events that covered the region with ash, in which case it too must be around 3.5 billion yrs old, or it was built since the overburden was blown away by the impact!

[3] The third building anomaly concerns fortress type constructions on the sandstone hump of Mount Sharp, which can only have been built post the cataclysmic event that formed the crater, which resemble vitrified forts seen in Scotland here on Earth.
