Default "24"

My most favorite television series (probably of all time! But that is my own opinion) is "24". It stars Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Baur - A Counter Terrorist Unit
agent out to "get the bad guys" and "save the world". But it all happens in real-time format. I like the idea, you can actually "follow" Jack wherever he goes, as he shoots people and gets caught in awkward situations. But he always manages to get out alive.

Imagine there is really a Jack Baur somewhere lurking in the hustling-bustling streets in Los Angeles, and fighting those terrorists coming into the country via Mexican borders? Man, the CTU makes Homeland Security look like a joke!

(I just wished they had spanned on the tv series!) Only nine seasons? WTF?

tHe cOnSpIrAcIsT: Never assume the obvious.

I liked that show too- good fiction. But what I did find very disturbing is how similar the "we got bin Laden" fable sounded like a first rough draft of a rejected plot line from 24. The plot line was full of holes and inconsistencies, and there was a strong sense of some shadowy Jack Bauer-type "heroes" lurking around the scene. I don't believe the story myself, of course, but a lot of people have- I think because it appeals to the television fantasy world.

I wonder if those involved in the real world "terrorist" issues both creating them and putting the media spin on them are actually watching too much television themselves- and preying on the fact that many Americans can't seem to tell the difference between fact and fiction anymore.
