The U.S. and Saudi Arabia have been close allies for decades, weathering their differences along the way. But that bond has come under increasing strain as the U.S. moves toward better relations with Iran.
A feud between Saudi Arabia’s Sunni rulers and Iran erupted over the weekend when the Saudi kingdom executed a prominent Shiite cleric. In response, protesters in Iran set fire to the Saudi embassy.
Middle east analysts say the feud threatens stability in the region as well as upcoming peace talks on Syria – and it places the U.S. in a difficult position.
Diane and her guests discuss Saudi Arabia and Iran – and the future of U.S. relations with the two nations.

February 17, 2016 (Tony Cartalucci - NEO) - Syrian forces backed by Russian airpower have made major advances across the battlefield along multiple fronts.
Around Aleppo, Syrian forces have cut supply lines from Turkey that were for years, supplying terrorists operating inside the country. Just east of a growing encirclement of the city of Aleppo, a secondary encirclement of so-called "Islamic State" (ISIS) forces is forming as the offensive to relieve Kuweris Airbase has evolved into a northern advance toward Al Bab - a critical logistical hub used by US-NATO-GCC backed terrorists during the initial invasion of Aleppo in 2012 and onward.
Deeper within the interior of Syria, Syrian forces have advanced eastward into the Al Raqqa Governorate, approaching the Tabaqa Airbase. The airbase is a crucial waypoint toward seizing back the city of Al Raqqa itself, which has become the defacto capital of ISIS.
Advances Against ISIS in East Only Possible After Cutting NATO-Fed Supply Lines in North
This second operation aimed at ISIS in Al Raqqah has only been made possible because of successes amid the first operation around Aleppo and along the Turkish-Syrian border. It is now demonstrably clear that the source of ISIS' fighting capacity originated almost exclusively from NATO-member Turkey's territory and more specifically, from between the Afrin-Jarabulus corridor.
So far, NATO has been unable to account for this obvious fact, or explain why it has been unable to secure the Turkish border from the Turkish side, particularly when nations including the United States and United Kingdom have for years been conducting military and intelligence operations precisely in the same locations ISIS supplies have been crossing over into Syria from.
As Syrian and Kurdish forces backed by Russian airpower close one logistical corridor after another along the border, the fighting capacity of ISIS has withered to the verge of collapsing.
As ISIS Folds US-NATO-GCC Mount Rescue
For several days now, Turkey has been firing across the border at the pivotal Syrian city of Azaz. The city is on the verge of being overrun by Kurdish fighters who will for all intents and purposes shut down one of ISIS' last remaining logistical hubs supplying their fighters in Syria from Turkey.
Turkey has vowed not to allow the city to fall and has implied that it is willing to go as far as invade Syria to ensure that it doesn't.
February 19, 2016 (Ulson Gunnar - NEO) - The fireball from this week's blast in Ankara had barely begun to fade before the world begun bracing itself for the predictable accusation that Syria's Kurdish YPG (People's Protection Units) were behind the blast. This is because Turkey has developed a transparently cynical strategy of staging blasts throughout its territory and behind to stoke fears, justify condemnation and retaliation and demonize not only it own enemies, but those of its partners in NATO and particularly, those of the United States.
Syria's YPG was the obvious target of this blast and the barrage of accusations and threats that quickly followed because it is the YPG together with Syrian and Russian forces that now threaten to finally foil the US-NATO-GCC proxy by closing the Afrin-Jarabulus corridor, and specifically, the pivotal city of Azaz, located in Syria right along the Syrian-Turkish border.
For years Azaz has served as a nexus for foreign-backed militant operations not only in northern Syria, but as a logistical hub supplying terrorist operations all throughout the country. Its seizure by either Syria's Kurdish YPG or the SAA (Syrian Arab Army) would effectively hobble US-NATO-GCC's proxy war, at least in the north.
Tripping in a Tangled Web of Treachery
Over the past week, Turkey has been shelling Syrian territory, concentrating its firepower on a southwest road leading to the city of Azaz. Kurdish YPG forces have been advancing up the road, lined on both sides by small farmers and accompanying civilian houses in a bid to liberate the city long-held by both IS (Islamic State) and Al Qaeda affiliates including Jabhat al Nusra (a US State Department listed foreign terrorist organization).
Despite the bombardment, the fate of US-NATO-GCC backed terrorists held up there is inevitably doomed. Just after the blast and amid threats by Ankara to retaliate not only against the YPG, but he Syrian government itself, some 500 terrorists described as "Islamists" by the London Guardian crossed over the Turkish border and headed to Azaz as reinforcements.
Keen readers will notice the term "Islamist" is often used as a somewhat more ambiguous label to avoid accurately describing the fighters as either Al Qaeda affiliates or IS itself. Together with continued artillery fire from Turkey, what the world now sees is NATO openly fighting a combined arms battle against Syria alongside Al Qaeda shock troops.
Ankara's threats against the YPG and the Syrian government is particularly ironic. The Washington Post in its report "Turkey accuses a Syrian Kurd of bombing Ankara and vows to retaliate," claims:
[Turkish Prime Minister] Davutoglu said he also held embattled Syrian President Bashar al-Assad responsible because Assad and his government have acknowledged on a number of occasions that they provide arms to the YPG.
However, this logic quickly breaks down when one considers the United States has also acknowledged on a number of occasions that it provided not only arms to the YPG, but also aircover.
Perhaps the United States and their junior partners in Ankara believe the public has forgotten such headlines as that in the Wall Street Journal, "U.S. Airdrops Weapons and Supplies to Besieged Syrian Kurds in Kobani," which reported:
The U.S. dropped weapons, ammunition and medical supplies to Syrian Kurds fighting Islamic State extremists in the embattled city of Kobani, U.S. officials said Sunday. Three U.S. C-130 cargo planes began dropping the weapons and supplies, provided by Kurdish authorities in Iraq, on Sunday, the officials said. Over several hours, the U.S. dropped 27 bundles of small arms, ammunition and supplies.
The London Guardian's "US-led air strikes hit key Isis targets amid battle with Kurdish forces," points out that:
US-led coalition jets struck Islamic State positions in north-east Syria for the second day in a row on Saturday, in an area where the militants are battling Kurdish forces, a Kurdish official and a group monitoring the war said.
Despite the "logic" underpinning Ankara's accusations and threats against both the YPG and Damascus, none should expect similar threats or retaliations to materialize against the United States, who has maintained a military presence for decades inside Turkey, itself a NATO member since the conclusion of the Second World War.
Instead, what we see is the total breakdown in the US-NATO-GCC narrative used to carry this conflict onward since 2011. The battle along Syria's border is clearly not about any threat the YPG or the Syrian government pose to Turkey or any other NATO or GGC member. Instead, the battle along the border is clearly about the imminent strangulation of US-NATO-GCC supply lines that have fed what is now clearly appearing to be a foreign invasion, not a "civil war."
EU warns of possible Turkey-Russia ‘hot war’ over Syria

The European Union (EU) foreign policy chief has cautioned against the risk of a war with active military hostilities between Turkey and Russia over Syria, where regional powers have sided with warring sides to the conflict gripping the Arab country, APA reports media.
Federica Mogherini issued the warning during a debate at the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee in the Belgian capital city of Brussels on Tuesday.
"We are always referring to Syria as a proxy war among regional actors, Mogherini said, adding, however, that the current situation in Syria risks becoming something bigger.
Will Turkey risk military confrontation with Russia?
Tensions between Russia and Turkey continue to escalate*following the downing in November of a*Russian Su-24 fighter*jet that strayed into Turkish airspace.
Questions are being raised now whether the two countries are heading for*a military confrontation. A leading Turkish military expert told Al-Monitor that such a Russian move could spell disaster for Turkey.
Turkey*accused Russia of violating its airspace again last week*and summoned Russia’s ambassador in Ankara to lodge a formal protest. President*Recep Tayyip Erdogan*and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu also warned Moscow that it was playing with fire and would have to face the consequences.
Tellingly, however, the Russian Su-34 fighter jet was not shot down this time. Despite Ankara’s dire warnings to Moscow, the protest lodged with the Russian ambassador shows that Davutoglu's*government, despite its apparent tough stance, is treading more cautiously to avoid another head-on military incident with Russia.
In its statement Jan. 30,*the Turkish*Ministry of Foreign Affairs*said an Su-34-type Russian aircraft*violated Turkish airspace*Jan. 29.
“Before the violation actually took place, the Russian plane was warned numerous times by Turkish air radar units both in English and Russian,” it said, adding that this new violation was “another example of Russian escalatory behavior.”

European diplomats have warned the Turkish government that it cannot count on the NATO support should the conflict with Russia escalate into an armed conflict, according to German media.
Ankara has called for a joint ground operation in Syria with its international allies, insisting it is the only way to stop the country's five-year war. Saudi Arabia has said it would be ready to take part in an international force to be deployed in Syria.
Secret US mission in Libya revealed after air force posted pictures
Facebook post, accompanied by four pictures, said 20 armed soldiers arrived wearing bulletproof jackets

Thursday 17 December 2015 18.21 EST
A secret US commando mission to Libya has been revealed after photographs of a special forces unit were posted on the Facebook page of the country’s air force.
Libya’s air force said 20 US soldiers arrived at Libya’s Wattiya airbase on Monday, but left soon after local commanders asked them to go because they had no permission to be at the base. It was unclear if another branch of the Libyan military had authorized the mission.
Pentagon sources confirmed to US media that the special forces unit was part of a mission sent this week, but it was unclear if the soldiers had left the country.
The Facebook post that revealed the unit’s presence said the 20 soldiers had disembarked “in combat readiness wearing bullet proof jackets, advanced weapons”.
The photographs show the Americans – three with assault rifles slung over their shoulders – posing in the sunshine with Libyan soldiers. Other photographs show the US troops boarding a blue and white-striped passenger plane and driving a yellow dune buggy.
America Invaded Libya To Prevent Pan-African Currency
January 19, 2016 Enemies Foreign and Domestic 1 Comment
A declassified email sent on April 2, 2011 to then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reveals the invasion of Libya was launched to prevent Muammar Gaddafi from establishing a pan-African currency based on Libya’s gold Dinar.
According to the document posted on the US State Department website advisors to Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the second son of Muammar Gaddafi, told sources the Libyan government held 143 tons of gold and a similar amount in silver valued at more than $7 billion. The gold and silver was to be used to establish an alternative currency to the French franc for African Francophone countries.
A large numbers of Western Africa nations are former French colonies and many continue to hold French as the official language. Madagascar in East Africa is also a Francophone country.
“French intelligence officers discovered this plan shortly after the current rebellion began,” the email states, “and this was one of the factors that influenced President Nicolas Sarkozy’s decision to commit France to the attack on Libya.”
In addition to preventing Libya from breaking away from French monetary domination, Sarkozy wanted to “gain a greater share of Libya oil production,” increase French influence in North Africa and dash Gaddafi’s “long term plans to supplant France as the dominant power in Francophone Africa.”
During the invasion of Libya analysts argued Gaddafi planned to stop selling oil in US dollars and demand instead it be traded in gold dinars. Prior to the invasion Gaddafi urged other African and Middle Eastern nations to follow suit.
The chaos, which its diabolical authors have brought to a number of Arab countries cynically calling it “the Arab Spring”, demonstrates that the process has not been completed and yet some other Middle East countries will fall under its bloody millstone. Arising quite suddenly in Tunisia (that more or less successfully escaped the spring winds), the chaos, backed up by the Western armed forces, moved to the formerly prospering Libya, which, currently, has ceased to exist as a whole state having fallen apart into three separate regions – Tripoli, Cyrenaica and Fezzan. The latest news reported by the global media evidence that the terrorist organisation, the Islamic State (IS), is planning to turn the Libyan territory in its own “jumping board” for penetrating and attacking European countries. In the north of Africa, only Egypt has held its ground; due to the enormous political experience of the Egyptian people and the determination of its army, it managed to remedy the situation in the very heart of the Arab world.
Rand Paul Fires Back at Obama “Lapdogs” Lindsey Graham, John McCain
Republican Senators characterize Paul as dangerous libertarian isolationist
April 22, 2015
Kentucky Senator and presidential candidate Rand Paul has fired back at harsh criticism leveled against him by two neocon senators, John McCain of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.
Paul characterized McCain and Graham as lapdogs for Obama’s foreign policy.
“They supported Hillary Clinton’s war in Libya; they supported President Obama’s bombing of Assad; they also support President Obama’s foreign aid to countries that hate us. So if there is anyone who is most opposed to President Obama’s foreign policy, it’s me. People who call loudest to criticize me are great proponents of President Obama’s foreign policy — they just want to do it ten times over,” he said.
On Monday McCain said Paul “just doesn’t understand” the foreign policy agenda of the United States. “He has displayed this kind of naiveté since he came to the Senate.”
In September, however, McCain said he would support Paul if he won the Republican nomination.
“I know that, if he were president or a nominee, I could influence him, particularly some of his views and positions on national security. He trusts me particularly on the military side of things, so I could easily work with him. It wouldn’t be a problem,” he told The New Yorker.
Refugee Crisis: EU Cites Missing Libyan Navy It Destroyed in 2011
News agencies are reporting on a Wikileaks report detailing the EU’s “Operation Sophia,” an allegedly covert military operation aimed at stemming the flow of refugees into Europe.
The International Business Times in their report, “WikiLeaks leak ‘classified report’ indicating EU Operation could move into Libyan territory,” would report that:
WikiLeaks has released a “classified report” about the first six months of Operation Sophia, the EU military intervention against refugee boats in Libya and Mediterranean.
the leaked report is dated 29 January 2016 and written by the operation commander, Rear Admiral Enrico Credendino of the Italian Navy. It allegedly provides statistics on refugee flows and outlines the phases of Operation Sophia, including future strategies of the operation. The report has been published for the European Union Military Committee and the Political and Security Committee of the EU.
Perhaps the most ironic aspect of “Operation Sophia” is the EU’s ultimate exit strategy, creating a functioning Libyan navy capable of policing its own shores. The Times would report:
A high amount of unusual radio traffic has been transmitted on military channels in recent days, according to operators who monitor these frequencies. Though most of the chatter is cryptic in nature, the extreme amount of broadcasts indicate far more military movements than usual.
In addition, call signs which are included in each broadcast and often disclose the identifying station, have been replaced by handles that haven’t been used since the tail end of the last cold war.
Many of these messages are Emergency Action Messages (EAM’s) that transmit special instructions to US military forces around the world. During the Ukraine conflict last year, the amount of broadcasts heard were increased by a substantial amount, mostly comprising of Skyking and Mainsail messages.
U.S. Spent Nearly $100 Billion On Foreigners To Fight Terrorists
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 10/08/2015 13:01 -0400
Authored by Shane Dixon Kavanaugh, originally posted at Vocativ.com,
To combat Islamic militants the White House says threaten national interests, the U.S. has spent nearly $100 billion to arm and train foreign militaries across the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia, an analysis by Vocativ shows. And nearly all of them are reeling from setbacks that threaten to undermine what’s become a core component of American foreign policy in these regions.
U.S. programs funding foreign fighters began flourishing in the years after 9/11 and were later bolstered by President Obama, who prefers doing this instead of deploying American troops into troubled areas. Now central to how the White House combats insurgencies in these regions, this strategy appears to be on the verge of unraveling. The Taliban toppled American-trained forces in Afghanistan last week to capture Kunduz, the country’s fifth-largest city. The fight to control it continues. U.S.-funded fighters in Iraq and Syria appear unable or unwilling to take on ISIS. Meanwhile, al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorists are virtually unchallenged in places like Yemen, Somalia and northwest Africa.
“Our track record at building security forces over the past 15 years is miserable,” said Karl W. Eikenberry, a former military commander and United States ambassador in Afghanistan, recently told the New York Times.
U.S. delivers 50 tons of ammunition to Syria rebel groups
By*Barbara Starr, CNN Pentagon Correspondent
Updated 2331 GMT (0631 HKT) October 12, 2015
CNN)U.S. military cargo planes gave 50 tons of ammunition to rebel groups overnight in northern Syria, using an air drop of 112 pallets as the first step in the Obama Administration's urgent effort to find new ways to support those groups.
Details of the air mission over Syria were confirmed by a U.S. official not authorized to speak publicly because the details have not yet been formally announced.
C-17s, accompanied by fighter escort aircraft, dropped small arms ammunition and other items like hand grenades in Hasakah province in northern Syria to a coalition of rebels groups vetted by the US, known as the Syrian Arab Coalition.
All pallets successfully were recovered by friendly forces, a U.S. official said.
Meet the 77th Battalion – The British Army is Mobilizing 1,500 “Facebook Warriors” to Spread Disinformation
Michael Krieger | Posted Monday Feb 2, 2015 at 3:42 pm
The British Army will revive one of the most contentious special forces units of the second world war, the Chindits, as a new generation of “Facebook” warriors who will wage complex and covert information and subversion campaigns.
– From the recent FT article: Army Revives Chindits as ‘Facebook Warriors’ for Smart Battle
Get ready, social media is about to get far more treacherous than it already is. Be extra careful jumping to conclusions, always think for yourself and use your best judgement. Government psy ops are about to go into overdrive.
A new group of soldiers, referred to as “Facebook Warriors” will ” wage complex and covert information and subversion campaigns,” according to the Financial Times. This unit will be named the 77th battalion, whose number also has a historical significance. FT says:
The original Chindits [77th battalion] were a guerrilla unit led by the swashbuckling British commander Major General Orde Wingate, one of the pioneers of modern unconventional warfare. They operated deep behind Japanese lines in Burma between 1942 and 1945 and their missions were often of questionable success.
These Facebook warriors will be using similar atypical tactics, through non-violent means, to fight their adversary. This will mainly be achieved through “reflexive control,” an old Soviet tactic of spreading specifically curated information in order to get your opponent to react in the exact way you want them to. It’s a pretty tricky trick, and the British army will be doing just that with 1,500-person (or more) troop using Twitter and Facebook as a means to spread disinformation, real war truths, and “false flag” incidents as well as just general intelligence gathering. The 77th battalion will reportedly begin operations in April.
Total War Command Is Given To Government 'Cyber Warriors' - Propaganda 'Troll' Attacks Go Hypersonic Against Alternative Media
"Military's 'sock puppet' software creates fake online identities to spread pro-American propaganda" - The Guardian, 2011
By Susan Duclos - All News PipeLine
Ever wonder if the people on the other end of the keyboard that you are having a spirited debate with is actually a paid government troll or shill?
First off not everyone that disagrees with a topic, article, opinion, post on social media or at a chat forum, is a troll, paid by the government or not. We at ANP have witnessed multiple discussions and debates where people disagree on certain points while agreeing with others, and as one of our regular readers likes to say, he learns something new from those discussions almost every day.
TOTAL WAR COMMAND IS GIVEN TO GOVERNMENT CYBER WARRIORS - TROLL ATTACKS GO HYPERSONIC
With world events going critical from war talk to cyber attacks, the economy to chemtrail talk, where Alternative Media outlets are garnering so much attention and highlighting issues Washington would prefer remain under the radar, and practically forcing the mainstream media to address those topics, the attacks against Independent Journalism have increased exponentially.
We have noted it here at ANP, our readers have noted it from across the Internet in comment sections, social media platforms and forums and after touching base with a couple sources, we see that other site owners are also noting the increase in trolling activity on their sites.
In response to my questions of whether they are noticing this increase, and being in communication with other web site owners are they hearing about it more, the response was "Yes, they are on a war footing (against us) and have gone hypersonic with guv cyber warriors having been given the total war command against us."
Identities revealed for all six U.S. troops killed in Afghanistan attack
NEW YORK*(Reuters) - A female officer in the Air Force, who was one of the first openly gay service members to get married, was identified on Tuesday as being among six U.S. troops killed by a suicide bomber near Bagram air base in Afghanistan.
Air Force Major Adrianna Vorderbruggen is the first openly gay woman to be killed in action, the Daily Beast news website reported, citing a Department of Defense official.
Six American troops, including Vorderbruggen, were killed Monday when a suicide bomber on a motorbike struck their patrol in the deadliest attack on U.S. forces this year.
Facebook postings on Tuesday by Vorderbruggen's loved ones mourned her death on Monday and sent condolences to her wife Heather and son Jacob. The family lives near Washington, D.C., where the couple was married in June 2012, the year after the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy for gays was repealed.
"We do find comfort in knowing that Heather and Jacob are no longer in the shadows and will be extended the rights and protections due any American military family as they move through this incredibly difficult period in their lives," said the posting from Military Partners and Families Coalition.
Bagram, around 40 km (25 miles) north of Kabul, is one of the main bases for the remaining 9,800 U.S. troops in Afghanistan, after international troops ended combat operations last year.
The victims included New York City Detective Joseph Lemm, a 15-year veteran of the NYPD who also volunteered in the U.S. Air National Guard and was on his third deployment to war zones.
Vladimir Putin’s address following adoption of a joint statement by Russia and US on Syria
Voltaire Network | Moscow (Russia) | 22 February 2016
I just had a telephone conversation with President of the United States of America Barack Obama. The phone call was initiated by the Russian side, but the interest was certainly mutual.
During our conversation, we approved joint statements of Russia and the US, as co-chairs of the ISSG, on the cessation of hostilities in Syria. Adoption of the statement was preceded by intensive work by Russian and American experts. We also made use of the positive experience we accumulated over the course of cooperation in eliminating chemical weapons in Syria.
Our negotiators held several rounds of closed consultations. As a result, we were able to reach an important, specific result. It was agreed that the cessation of hostilities in Syria commences at 00:00 (Damascus time) on February 27, 2016 on terms and conditions that are a part of the Russian-American statement.
The essence of these conditions is as follows: by 12:00 pm on February 26, 2016, all parties warring in Syria must indicate to the Russian Federation or our American partners their commitment to the cessation of hostilities. Russian and American troops will jointly delineate the territories where these groups are active. No military action will be taken against them by the Armed Forces of the Syrian Arab Republic, Russian Armed Forces and the US-led coalition. In turn, the opposition will cease all military action against the Armed Forces of the Syrian Arab Republic and other groups supporting them.
ISIS, Jabhat Al-Nursa, and other terrorist organisations designated by the United Nations Security Council, are excluded from the cessation of hostilities. Strikes against them will continue.
It is fundamentally important that Russia and the US, as co-chairs of the ISSG, are prepared to launch effective mechanisms to promote and monitor compliance with the ceasefire by both the Syrian Government and the armed opposition groups.
To achieve this goal, we will establish a communication hotline and, if necessary, a working group to exchange relevant information. Russia will conduct the necessary work with Damascus and the legitimate Syrian leadership. We expect that the United States will do the same with regard to their allies and the groups they support.
I am sure that the joint actions agreed upon with the American side will be enough to radically reverse the crisis situation in Syria. We are finally seeing a real chance to bring an end to the long-standing bloodshed and violence. As a result, humanitarian access to all Syrian citizens in need should be made easier.
Most important is the creation of conditions for launching a long-term political process through a broad inter-Syrian dialogue in Geneva, under the auspices of the UN.
Unfortunately, recent history has many examples where one-sided actions not sanctioned by the UN, which favour short-term political or opportunistic interests, have led to dramatic results. These examples are on everyone’s lips: Somalia, Iraq, Libya, Yemen.
Against this background, Russian-American agreements on the cessation of hostilities in Syria, and their joint implementation in coordination with all nations participating in the International Syria Support Group, can become an example of responsible actions the global community takes against the threat of terrorism, which are based on international law and UN principles.
I would like to hope that the Syrian leadership and all our partners in the region and beyond will support the set of actions chosen by representatives of Russia and the US.
Turkey and Saudi Arabia plan war against Russia and Syria
Turkey continues building up its military presence on the border with the Syrian Arab Republic, as evidenced by photographs from reconnaissance drones.
A source at the Syrian Armed Forces said that more than 20 Turkish tanks, more than 20 self-propelled guns and 30 field artillery guns of various calibers appeared near the border on Syria during February 7-10.
Turkey secretly deploys military hardware on the territory of Turkish military facilities. Turkey has also been taking efforts to increase the presence of its troops on the border with Syria. Up to 5,000 Turkish military personnel have been deployed in the region in the first two weeks of February. To quarter them along the border, Turkey creates army camps masked as refugee townships.
For example, in the area of Bab-es-Salam, up to 2,000 military men were quartered in a tent township immediately behind the border line. A field hospital was also erected in the location. According to experts, Turkey will be ready for an attack on Syria by the end of February.
Saudi Arabia awaits US permission to start ground operation
Noteworthy, Advisor to the Defence Minister of Saudi Arabia, Ahmad Asiri, stated that Saudi Arabia would launch a ground operation in Syria as soon as the US-led international coalition makes such a decision.
Earlier, the head of the Saudi Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Adel Al-Jubeir, announced a possibility to send Saudi special forces to Syria as part of the US-led coalition to fight the Islamic State terrorist group.
According to Politonline, even though November 24 became the day, when the relations between Russia and Turkey were ruined, they could hardly be referred to as friendly relations during five years of the Syrian conflict.
Russia became a potential enemy when the country joined the Syrian conflict on the side of Damascus and President Assad. Having blocked the possibility to deliver any cargo through its airspace and waters in the beginning of the civil war in Syria, Turkey, in fact, forced Russia to start an operation called the "Syrian Express" in 2012.
It was Russia that supported Damascus in most critical moments of the civil war. The Syrian government has thus been able to retain control of important cities and push militants out from the territories near the Syrian capital.
What was Turkey's role in the conflict? Turkish citizens have been taking part in the Syrian conflict since the very beginning of the Syrian civil war. Turkey itself has been showing significant influence on the conflict in the Arab Republic. Therefore, one may conclude that Turkey has committed acts of foreign intervention into internal affairs of Syria. In Turkey, Islamist terrorists could receive medical aid and Internet access (via private Turkish providers) to upload their propagandist videos on extremist sites.
Russia deploys doomsday aircraft in Syria
17.02.2016 | Source: Pravda.Ru
Russia has sent its state-of-the-art complex reconnaissance Tu-214R aircraft to Hmeymim airbase in Syria, Pravda.Ru reports.
According to Flightradar24, the aircraft took off from the airfield in Kazan, flew above international waters of the Caspian Sea, above the territories of Iran and Iraq, before it landed in Hmeymim on Monday evening.
The Russian air group in Syria currently consists of Su-27, Su-30, Su-34, Su-24 and Su-25 aircraft, as well as Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters. Strategic missile carriers Tu-22M3, Tu-160 and Tu-95MS are also involved in the operation in Syria, officials with the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation said in November.
Tu-214R is electronic and opto-electronic reconnaissance aircraft. The Tu-214R made its maiden flight in December 2009. There were only two of such aircraft built. The aircraft is capable of tracking down Turkey's military activities at distances of hundreds of kilometers.
Did Russia Just Threaten Turkey With Nuclear Weapons?
Reports say a source close to Putin claims Russia warned Erdogan of readiness to use tactical nuclear weapons to defend Russian strike force in Syria from Turkish attack

The US investigative journalist Robert Parry has made an astonishing claim - and one that has gone completely unnoticed.
He is reporting that the Russian government has warned Erdogan that Russia is prepared to use tactical nuclear weapons to defend its Syrian strike force from Turkish attack.
Parry’s exact words are as follows:
“A source close to Russian President
Vladimir Putin told me that the Russians have warned Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Moscow is prepared to use tactical nuclear weapons if necessary to save their troops in the face of a Turkish-Saudi onslaught.
Since Turkey is a member of NATO, any such conflict could quickly escalate into a full-scale nuclear confrontation.”
Generally I would be skeptical of such a story from an anonymous source. However Parry is a journalist of the highest reliability and integrity so there can be no doubt he actually has been told this by a real source.
Of course it is possible the source is making the story up, or that he is not as close to Putin as Parry believes.
However on 11th February 2016 Russia’s Security Council held a meeting the public report of which is unusually terse, whilst on the same day the Russian military reported to Putin about a series of military exercises arranged at short notice in their southern military district, which look like they were intended to prepare the Russian military for rapid action at short notice against Turkey should the need arise.
Obama’s Russian Rationale for $1 Trillion Nuke Plan Signals New Arms Race
The Obama administration has historically insisted that its massive $1 trillion nuclear weapons modernization program does not represent a return to Cold War-era nuclear rivalry between Russia and the United States.
The hugely expensive undertaking, which calls for a slew of new cruise missiles, ICBMs, nuclear submarines, and long-range bombers over the next three decades, has been widely panned by critics as “wasteful,” “unsustainable,” “unaffordable,” and “a fantasy.”
The administration has pointed toaging missile silos,*1950s-era bombers, and other*outdated technology*to justify the spending, describing the steps as intended to maintain present capabilities going forward — not bulking up to prepare for a future confrontation.
Last year, speaking to NATO allies, Defense Secretary Ashton Carter insisted that “the Cold War playbook … is not suitable for the 21st*century.”
But President Obama’s*defense budgetrequest for 2017 includes language that makes it clear that nuclear “modernization” really is about Russia after all.
The budget request explicitly*citesRussian aggression, saying, “We are countering Russia’s aggressive policies through investments in a broad range of capabilities … [including] our nuclear arsenal.”

The move presents the United States with a dilemma: How does Washington respond at a time when Moscow and Washington are at odds over Syria and Ukraine and*senior U.S. defense officials have identified Russia as the No. 1 existential threat*to America?
It would be complicated for the United States to block Russia’s request. The*Treaty on Open Skies, which was first approved in 1992 and went into effect in 2002, allows signatories to fly unarmed aircraft carrying video and still cameras, infrared scanning devices and certain forms of radar over the territory of other treaty members. Inspections are carried out to make sure the cameras used meet the terms of treaty and are not too powerful

Putin's top security adviser says U.S. is after Russia's minerals
The head of Russia's Security Council said in a newspaper interview published on Tuesday that the United States wanted a weakened Russia so as to gain access to its vast mineral resources.
The attack on the United States by Nikolai Patrushev came against a background of anti-Western rhetoric by Moscow following imposition of sanctions by Washington and the European Union over Moscow's role in Ukraine's crisis.
In an interview with BBC Panorama aired on Monday night, Adam Szubin, acting U.S. Treasury secretary for terrorism and financial crimes, accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of amassing secret wealth by corrupt practices over "many, many years".
"The United States' leadership has set a goal of global dominance," Patrushev, a former head of Russia's FSB state security service and a long-standing ally of Putin, told the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper in an interview on its website.
"They don't need a strong Russia. On the contrary, they need to weaken our country as much as possible. To achieve this goal, the Russian Federation's disintegration is not ruled out as well," Patrushev said.

U.S. intelligence agencies are closely watching what appears to be a buildup of Russian military forces in northeastern Syria, very close to the Turkish border.
The buildup has been underway for the past several weeks, and defense officials say there are concerns Moscow is creating a new military air base and outpost similar to the current base near Latakia, on Syria’s Mediterranean coast

Last Wednesday, the Russian MoD delivered a lengthy presentation which contained compelling visual evidence of a connection between Islamic State’s illegal and highly profitable trade in stolen Iraqi and Syrian crude and Turkey. Here are some highlights:
After loading up with oil, a truck convoy in east Syria heads toward Turkey in direction Al-Qamishli:
The slide show, hosted by Deputy Minister of Defence Anatoly Antonov, featured photos of oil trucks, videos of airstrikes and maps detailing the trafficking of stolen oil. It was the latest PR snafu for Erdogan who is struggling to convince Turkey’s allies that The Kremlin’s accusations are unfounded and that Ankara isn’t set to put NATO in an awkward position by effectively instigating a shooting war with Russia.
Washington came to Erdogan’s defense in the aftermath of Moscow’s claims as State Department spokesman Mark Toner said the US is confident that Ankara “is not complicit in Islamic State oil smuggling.” Russia seemed to take that denial in stride, but after US special envoy and coordinator for international energy affairs, Amos Hochstein, said on Friday that the amount of oil smuggled into Turkey from Syria is "of no significance from a volume perspective", Moscow appears to have had enough.
On Saturday, Russia accused the US of participating in a cover-up. “Our colleagues from the State Department and the Pentagon have confirmed that the photo-proof, which we presented at a briefing [on December 2], of the origin and destination of the stolen oil, coming from the areas controlled by the terrorists, is authentic. However, the US claim that they ‘don’t see the border crossings with tanker trucks crossing the border,’ raises a smile, if only, because the photos are still images,” Major General Igor Konashenkov, a Defense Ministry spokesman said. “We advise the American side to have a look at how the tanker trucks not only drive through checkpoints at the Turkish border, but pass through them without even stopping.”
As RT notes, an unnamed US State Department official confirmed to Reuters on Friday that the Russian photos of thousands of oil tanker trucks in Syria were authentic [but] stressed that he hasn’t seen “the imagery of the border crossing with trucks crossing the border, and that’s because [the US doesn't] believe it exists.”
Turkey is a beautiful land, rich in resources, with many highly intelligent and warm people. It also happens to have a President who seems intent on destroying his once-proud nation. More and more details are coming to light revealing that the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, variously known as ISIS, IS or Daesh, is being fed and kept alive by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Turkish President and by his Turkish intelligence service, including MIT, the Turkish CIA. Turkey, as a result of Erdoğan’s pursuit of what some call a Neo-Ottoman Empire fantasies that stretch all the way to China, Syria and Iraq, threatens not only to destroy Turkey but much of the Middle East if he continues on his present path.
In October 2014 US Vice President Joe Biden told a Harvard gathering that Erdoğan’s regime was backing ISIS with “hundreds of millions of dollars and thousands of tons of weapons…” Biden later apologized clearly for tactical reasons to get Erdoğan’s permission to use Turkey’s Incirlik Air Base for airstrikes against ISIS in Syria, but the dimensions of Erdoğan’s backing for ISIS since revealed is far, far more than Biden hinted.
ISIS militants were trained by US, Israeli and now it emerges, by Turkish special forces at secret bases in Konya Province inside the Turkish border to Syria, over the past three years. Erdoğan’s involvement in ISIS goes much deeper. At a time when Washington, Saudi Arabia and even Qatar appear to have cut off their support for ISIS, they remaining amazingly durable. The reason appears to be the scale of the backing from Erdoğan and his fellow neo-Ottoman Sunni Islam Prime Minister, Ahmet Davutoğlu.
Multiple reports claim that Israel is the top purchaser of smuggled ISIS oil

Citing multiple sources, the Israeli business press are now reporting that Israel is the main recipient of ISIS oil:
Kurdish and Turkish smugglers are transporting oil from ISIS controlled territory in Syria and Iraq and selling it to Israel, according to several reports in the Arab and Russian media. An estimated 20,000-40,000 barrels of oil are produced daily in ISIS controlled territory generating $1-1.5 million daily profit for the terrorist organization.
The oil is extracted from Dir A-Zur in Syria and two fields in Iraq and transported to the Kurdish city of Zakhu in a triangle of land near the borders of Syria, Iraq and Turkey. Israeli and Turkish mediators come to the city and when prices are agreed, the oil is smuggled to the Turkish city of Silop marked as originating from Kurdish regions of Iraq and sold for $15-18 per barrel (WTI and Brent Crude currently sell for $41 and $45 per barrel) to the Israeli mediator, a man in his 50s with dual Greek-Israeli citizenship known as Dr. Farid. He transports the oil via several Turkish ports and then onto other ports, with Israel among the main destinations.
In August, the "Financial Times" reported that Israel obtained 75% of its oil supplies from Iraqi Kurdistan. More than a third of such exports go through the port of Ceyhan, which the FT describe as a “potential gateway for ISIS-smuggled crude."
It's been well-established that Turkey is a major transportation hub for ISIS oil smuggling operations. But where is the oil sent? Someone has to buy it. The answer, apparently, is: Israel.
Al-Araby published an extensive investigation which lays out in detail how oil is transported from ISIS-controlled wells to Israel via Turkey.
ISIS To Israel: Palestine Will Become Your Grave
Matt Vespa | Dec 26, 2015
In the first audio statement in several months, the Islamic State’s leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, threatened Israel and taunted the United States. I know–what else is new? Al-Baghdadi promised that Palestine will become Israel’s grave, and that the United States refuses to fight on the ground because we "were defeated in Iraq and Afghanistan." We’ve heard similar rhetoric over the years from radical islamic leader, and bashing Israel is a must within these circles.
In all, ISIS wants to bury Israel–and feels that Americans are cowards because we don’t fight them with ground troops. So, Happy New Year, everyone! (Via the Hill):
Baghdadi said the U.S. and its allies have "learned from" recent lengthy wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"Crusaders and Jews don't dare to come on the ground because they were defeated in Iraq and Afghanistan," he said.
He also threatened ISIS attacks in Israel, saying the terror network would attempt to establish a stronghold there as well.
"Jews, soon you shall hear from us in Palestine, which will become your grave," Baghdadi reportedly said.
"The Jews thought we forgot Palestine and that they had distracted us from it," he added. "Not at all, Jews. We did not forget Palestine for a moment. With the help of Allah, we will not forget it."
The message said that a U.S.-led coalition military campaign and Russian air strikes have failed to weaken ISIS.
"Be confident that God will grant victory to those who worship him, and hear the good news that our state is doing well. The more intense the war against it, the purer it becomes and the tougher it gets," the leader said.

Shocking: ISIS Attacks On Libyan Oil Facilities Visible from Space
By Charles Kennedy

ISIS militants in Libya continue to attack key oil infrastructure in the country.
The two large oil export terminals at Es Sider and Ras Lanuf came under ISIS attacks on January 4-6. Some oil storage tanks exploded after suffering damage from machine gun fire.
NASA just published some shocking photos that clearly show the smoke plumes from the oil storage tanks are visible by satellite. The smoke blew east and northeast, blanketing Libya’s Mediterranean Coast. News reports suggest that at least five oil storage tanks are burning, each thought to have the capacity to hold 420,000 to 460,000 barrels of oil. Four of them are located at Es Sider and one at Ras Lanuf.
A spokesperson for the National Oil Company in Libya said that seven storage tanks were burning.
Navy ships and submarines to carry new anti-ship Tomahawk missile, report says
By Thomas Gibbons-Neff February 18 Follow @Tmgneff
In the next decade, U.S. ships and submarines capable of firing Tomahawk cruise missiles will likely be fitted with a variant specifically designed to hit enemy ships up to 1,000 miles away, according to a report published in the U.S. Naval Institute News.
Vice Adm. Joseph Mulloy, deputy chief of naval operations for integration of capabilities and resources told USNI News Wednesday that surface ships would receive the upgraded missiles first, followed by submarines. The move follows the Navy’s upcoming $434 million budget request that would modify a portion of the current stock of Tomahawks with the ability to strike maritime targets.
US Special Operators Say No to Women in Special Operations Jobs
Associated Press | Dec 11, 2015 | by Lolita C. Baldor
WASHINGTON -- The men in the U.S. military's most dangerous jobs care little about political correctness or gender equality. And they have a message for their political leadership.
When they are fighting in the shadows or bleeding on the battlefield, women have no place on their teams.
In blunt and, at times, profanity-laced answers to a voluntary survey conducted by the Rand Corp., more than 7,600 of America's special operations forces spoke with nearly one voice. Allowing women to serve in Navy SEAL, Army Delta or other commando units could hurt their effectiveness and lower the standards, and it may drive men away from the dangerous posts.
An overwhelming majority of those who agreed to respond to the RAND survey said they believe women don't have the physical strength or mental toughness to do the grueling jobs.
Some of the broader conclusions of the survey, taken from May through July 2014, were disclosed by The Associated Press earlier this year, but the detailed results and comments written by respondents had not been released.
The Pentagon released the summer survey and other documents when Defense Secretary Ash Carter announced last week that he was opening all combat jobs to women. That decision was based on recommendations by the military service secretaries and the leaders of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Special Operations Command. Only the Marine Corps asked to exempt women from certain infantry and frontline positions, but Carter denied that request.
Half the men who got the 46-question survey responded to it, and Rand did not identify any of them. In some cases, people who feel most strongly about an issue are more inclined to answer surveys.
Some 85 percent of the respondents said they oppose opening the special operations jobs to women, and 70 percent oppose having women in their individual units. More than 80 percent said women aren't strong enough and can't handle the demands of the job. And 64 percent said they aren't mentally tough enough.
"I could list hundreds of reasons why women cannot do the job that a Green Beret is required to do, but as I only have 1,000 characters, I will choose the one that I think is the most important," said one respondent. "I weigh 225 pounds, and 280 pounds in full kit, as did most of the members of my ODA (a 12-man Army Green Beret unit). I expect every person on my team to be able to drag any member of my team out of a firefight. A 130 pound female could not do it, I don't care how much time she spends in the gym. Do we expect wounded men to bleed out because a female soldier could not drag him to cover?"
WATCH: U.S. Navy’s New Zumwalt Destroyer in Portland Harbor

US aircraft carriers are no longer the ultimate deterrent because China, Iran and Russia can easily attack them with new technology
•The Center for a New American Security says the US relies on old tactics
•Those tactics make heavy use of aircraft carriers, which can be taken down with a combo of new weapons, tech and tactics deigned to trap carriers
•These 'area denial' systems force carriers to choose between fighting at a distance, where they are less effective, or closing in and risking attack
•'Such an attack would be difficult - if not impossible - to defend against,' report warns
•China is 'the pacing threat' because of its technological developments

An obsession with aircraft carriers may end the the United States' naval dominance if military leaders don't change their ways, a report warned today. It says China, Russia and other countries have 'increasingly lethal and precise' weapons and tactics that can destroy carriers, breaking the backbone of the Navy.
Aircraft carriers are at the core of the Navy's arsenal. Not only are the fearsome juggernauts incredibly powerful and difficult to take down, there are also many of them: ten in active service. That's the exact same number of active carriers that every other country in the world has, combined.
But reliance on the behemoths has made the navy complacent, and in serious danger of being taken down by new weapons and tactics displayed by other countries, according to Red Alert: The Growing Threat to U.S. Aircraft Carriers, a report released by bipartisan think-tank Center for a New American Security.
Red Alert: The Growing Threat to U.S. Aircraft Carriers

As China deploys surface-to-air missile (SAM) launchers to the Woody Islands in the South China Sea, CNAS Defense Strategies and Assessments Program Associate Fellow Kelley Sayler has written a new report, “Red Alert: The Growing Threat to U.S. Aircraft Carriers.” The report examines the short-, medium-, and long-range threats to the carrier – including SAMs and other anti-access/area denial capabilities, in which China is investing heavily – and concludes that U.S. carriers will not be able to act with impunity in the event of future conflict.
Russian Frigate Admiral Gorshkov Tested in the White Sea
The leading frigate of the project 22350 built for the Russian Navy, Admiral Gorshkov, has undertaken 130mm gun artillery firing at sea targets in the White Sea as part of state trials.
In the near future the frigate will continue the final stage of the state tests of technical means and armament. Following results of these tests, a decision will be made concerning the readiness of the ship to form part of the Russian Navy. In addition to crew members, the frigate will be boarded by industry representatives to keep track of the test progress.
On September 30, the ship arrived in Severodvinsk from Baltiysk and temporarily formed part of the Belomorskaya military naval base of the Northern Fleet. In the course of the cruise, the ship conducted testing of navigational, communication and radar systems.
The project 22350 ships are designed for combat operations. With a displacement of 4,500 tons, overall length of 130 m, the vessel has a cruising range which exceeds 4,000 nautical miles. The weapon set of the ship includes strike anti-ship and anti-submarine missiles, anti-air weapons, 130mm universal gun-mount and an anti-submarine helicopter.

The Air Force has revealed an artist's rendition of the B-21, a highly secretive, next-generation stealth bomber to replace an aging fleet of older planes flying missions around the world.
Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James unveiled the illustration -- which bears a strong resemblance to the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber -- for the first time on Feb. 26 at an Air Force Association convention in Orlando, Fla.
"We have an image, we have a designation, but here's what we don't have," she told the audience. "We don't yet have a name."
James called on airmen and others to suggest names for the stealthy aircraft under development -- until now known simply as the Long Range Strike-Bomber, or LRS-B.
"The main reason for releasing this picture is to make the program real for legislators who up to now have seen it as kind of an abstraction or concept rather than a concrete item," said Loren B. Thompson, a senior defense analyst with the Virginia-based Lexington Institute and a defense industry consultant.
The Air Force could buy between 80 to 100 of the Northrop Grumman bombers. Costs are not finalized but the program could reach up to $80 billion by one estimate when research and development and procurement are factored in.
Designated as the first "21st-century bomber," the B-21 eventually would replace the workhorse B-52 Stratofortress, first flown in the 1950s, and the swing-wing B-1 Lancer, launched in the 1980s. The new bomber jet would join the fleet in the mid-2020s.
Congressional legislators will scrutinize the secretive bomber because the Air Force cannot afford all the new weapons programs targeted in future years, Thompson said.
"The Air Force is trying to bolster the case for its new bomber in a Washington political culture that is suspicious of anything secret," he said. "Sen. John McCain's statement this week that he would oppose open-ended funding of the bomber's development underscores the political challenge the Air Force faces."
McCain, R-Ariz., is chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
The new design corrects issues with the B-2 that rendered it more detectable in some situations, Thompson added.
"The only thing an adversary can learn from looking at this picture (of the B-21) is that most of their existing radars are going to be useless in being able to detect it," he said.
The B-21 design was chosen over a rival Boeing and Lockheed Martin team to build the next generation jet. Boeing filed a protest with the Government Accountability Office last year over losing the contract, but the GAO this month upheld the Air Force selection of Northrop Grumman.
The Air Force also bypassed the Fighters and Bombers Directorate headquartered at Wright-Patterson and gave oversight of the secretive plane's research and development to the Rapid Capabilities Office in Washington, D.C.

At least 300 killed in Islamic State 'massacre' in Syrian city, state media says
Published January 17, 2016
Islamic State militants killed 300 people in an “appalling massacre” in eastern Syria, the government said on Sunday.
The state-run SANA news agency said that most of those killed in day-long attacks on Deir el-Zour Saturday were elderly people, women and children. The killings are some of the worst carried out by the extremist group, which controls a large portion of Syria and Iraq.
The Syrian Observatory of Human Rights, a British-based group which monitors the violence on all sides of the Syrian conflict, confirmed the killings. Activists for the group said at least 135 were killed in the assault, at least 80 of them were soldiers and pro-government militiamen and the rest were civilians.
The group said that most of them were either shot dead or beheaded. The Lebanon-based Al-Mayadeen TV said ISIS took at least 400 civilians hostage.
A Syrian source told Reuters the terror group “committed a massacre among the civilians.” He said the pro-government army killed a large number of militants.
“They sent six suicide bombers first and they tried to break into military positions but failed,” the source told Reuters.
Russia questioned the future of Turkey when it delivered to the Security Council an intelligence report concerning Turkey’s activities in support of jihadists. The document includes about ten revelations which implicate the activities of the MIT. The problem is that each of the operations listed refers back to operations in which the same actors worked with the United States or their allies against Russia. This information adds to that which is already available concerning the personal connections between President Erdoğan and the Al-Qaïda banker, and the information about Erdoğan’s son and the illegal use of the oil stolen by Daesh.
Voltaire Network | Damascus (Syria) | 22 February 2016
ussia delivered to the members of the UN Security Council an intelligence report concerning the activities of Turkey which support the jihadists operating in Syria . The document lists about ten facts, each one of which violates one or several Council Resolutions.
By doing so, Russia puts the Council, and, by extension, several other inter-governmental organisations, face to face with their responsibilities. By law, the Council should ask for corresponding proof of these assertions and pressure Turkey for explanations. In the event that Turkey should be found guilty, the Council would have to decide which sanctions should be adopted under chapter VII of the Charter, in other words, by resorting to force. From their side, the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation would have to exclude this gangster-state from their ranks, while the European Union would have to halt Turkey’s negotiations for membership.
However, a close examination of the Russian intelligence report reveals that the alleged infringements are susceptible to open a number of other case files implicating other powers. Consequently it is unlikely that this report will be discussed publicly, but that the future of Turkey will be negotiated behind closed doors.
The case of Mahdi Al-Harati
Born in Libya in 1973, Mahdi al-Harati emigrated to Ireland and founded a family there.
In May 2010, he was aboard the Mavi Marmara, the flagship for the « Freedom Flotilla », organised by the Turkish non-governmental organisation IHH to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. The ships were attacked on the high seas by the Israëli army, provoking an international scandal. The passengers were kidnapped by Tsahal, imprisoned in Israël, and then finally liberated . Then Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, paid a visit to a hospital to comfort the wounded militants. His cabinet issued a photograph showing one of the militants kissing him as if Erdoğan was his father. He was described as being Turko-Irish, and named El Mehdi El Hamid El Hamdi – but in reality, he was the Libyo-Irish Mahdi al-Harati.

Northern Thunder military exercises begin in Saudi Arabia
War games in Saudi Arabia will be the largest to be conducted in the region
Manama: Troops from Oman, Egypt and Kuwait and several other countries have arrived in Saudi Arabia to take part in the largest military exercise in the region, in terms of participating countries and equipment.
At least 20 countries from Arab and Islamic countries are scheduled to participate in the North Thunder war games in the northern region of the kingdom, Saudi reports said on Monday.
The participating countries are Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Jordan, Senegal, Sudan, Maldives, Morocco, Pakistan, Chad, Tunisia, Comoro Islands, Djibouti, Malaysia, Egypt, Mauritania, and Mauritius.
The equipment that reflects the quantitative and qualitative weapons the forces will be using will include fighter jets of different models, a wide range of artillery, tanks, infantry, air defence systems, and naval forces.
The official Twitter account for North Thunder said the exercises were being held at King Khalid Military City in Hafr Al Batin from February 14 until March 10.
“A military exercise will be commanded by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the participation of 20 countries and the Peninsula Shield force as well,” the account said. “The main objective is to demonstrate the high combat readiness of the participating armed forces and their readiness and ability to function successfully in joint operations,” the account said.

One jihadi was instantly decapitated by the high calibre rounds and his accomplices left in pieces – one had been cut in half by the ultra-powerful rifle bullets.
The British SAS shooter who took out the barbaric bombers is considered one of the best in the special forces and used the world’s most powerful rifle to eliminate the threat in a jaw-dropping fashion.
In an operation described as "out of the box", the daring SAS shooter helped push ISIS back and save 20 innocent civilians.
He fired 30 armour-piercing rounds from his Barrett Light .50 calibre rifle into a two-storey command post in the city of Ramadi in Iraq.
Islamic State militants were using the command post to launch suicide attacks against the Iraqi army, who were closing in on the terrorists.
ISIS Oil Plot Thickens: Turkish MP Has Evidence Erdogan's Son-In-Law Involved In Illegal Crude Trade
Submitted by Tyler Durden on 12/03/2015 22:00 -0400
On Thursday, Turkish PM Ahmet Davutoglu said the following about Russia’s allegations that Turkey and more specifically, President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an and his family, are involved in the trafficking of illegal ISIS crude:
"In the Cold War period there was a Soviet propaganda machine. Every day it created different lies. Firstly they would believe them and then expect the world to believe them. These were remembered as Pravda lies and nonsense. This was an old tradition but it has suddenly reared its head again. Nobody attaches any value to the lies of this Soviet-style propaganda machine.”
As we went on to note, Davutoglu’s assessment isn’t exactly correct. Quite a few people “attach value” to Moscow’s allegations, not the least of which are the authorities in Baghdad, from whom Turkey is effectively stealing not only by facilitating the trafficking of ISIS oil, but also by piping over 600,000 b/d from Kurdistan to Ceyhan.
In fact, Iraq is so agitated that they’re set to ask the Security Council to investigate the situation and brand anyone found to be involved “criminals.”
Of course the thing about being an autocrat - and that’s most certainly what Erdogan is despite the West’s ridiculous contention that Turkey is a democracy - is that you make a whole lot enemies in your own country and while you can suppress dissent with force, eventually it all catches up to you and between Russia’s accusations and opposition political parties still stinging from AKP’s move to nullify June’s election outcome by starting a civil war and calling for snap elections, Erdogan may be in trouble.
Underscoring that contention is CHP lawmaker Eren Erdem who says he, like Moscow, will soon provide proof of Erdogan’s role in the smuggling of Islamic State oil. "I have been able to establish that there is a very high probability that Berat Albayrak is linked to the supply of oil by the Daesh terrorists,” Erdem said at a press conference on Thursday (see more from Sputnik).
Berat Albayrak is Erodan’s son-in-law and is Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.
Cruise Missile Strikes in Syria: Russia's Big Ad Campaign?
October 8, 2015
The Russian navy’s Caspian Sea flotilla launched a barrage of some twenty-six long-range cruise missiles against eleven targets more than 950 miles away in Syria yesterday. While it’s well known that Russia possesses long-range cruise missiles, the fact that the missiles were launched from relatively diminutive corvettes that caught some by surprise.
While the roughly 1,900-ton displacement Project 1166.1 Gepard-class frigate Dagestan led the Russian cruise missile strike, the rest of Moscow’s fleet consisted of tiny 950-ton Project 2163.1 Buyan-M-class corvettes. Three of these vessels, Grad Sviyazhsk, Uglich and Veliky Ustyug took part in the attack using long-range Novator 3M-14T Kalibr NK land attack cruise missiles.
The Special Forces Command (Turkish: Özel Kuvvetler Komutanlığı), nicknamed Maroon Berets (Turkish: Bordo Bereliler) because of their distinctive service headgear, are a highly trained elite special operations unit of the Turkish Armed Forces made up of volunteer Turkish Army officers after graduating a roughly 4-year training period. The Special Forces Command is not aligned to any of the three Turkish branches of TAF, receiving its orders directly from the General Staff of the Republic of Turkey. Its forerunner was the Special Warfare Department (Turkish: Özel Harp Dairesi)
Although the Special Forces Command is considered a division-level formation, this includes non-combatant units and administrative duties personnel as well.
Main mission:For possible case of war, train and organizeing of the public
Volunteers initially face a pass/fail written exam as well as physical and psychological tests. Those who pass the exams become special forces candidates. Adequate linguistic skills in at least one foreign language is a plus for admission. The candidates then have to complete a challenging training period which lasts around 3.5-5 years. Many drop out during this intense training period. Training encompasses fitness, obstacle, Martial Arts, close quarters combat (CQC), biological/chemical/nuclear warfare, parachuting, diving, sniping, demolition, counter-terrorism, search and rescue, stealth seek and destroy, reconnaissance and survival. Learning foreign languages is a part of the training. During the training, candidates are pushed by their instructors to their limits, both physically and mentally. Training schedule includes all aspects of a modern-day regular and psychological warfare. 100 kilometer terrain-walking with a 40 kg. load is an example of what the candidates have to go through during training.
The Trust Shot (in Turkish "Gūven Atışı") is a part of the MB's training program. It is exercised on the last month of the training and is to ensure that the soldiers can trust each other with their lives. The Trust Shot consists of two members of a squad standing next to paper target boards, while another member fires on the targets with a handgun while walking towards them from 15 meters (49 feet) away. During the exercise the men standing next to the targets are not allowed to move or wear body armor. They are one of the few special operations teams in the world to perform the trust shot.
Gendarmerie Special Operations Command (Turkish: Jandarma Özel Harekat Komutanlığı) or shortly as JÖH, is the special operations unit of the Turkish Jandarma (Gendarmerie). It has several missions which includes search and destroy, infiltration and reconnaissance actions. Members of the unit receive extensive training at the Jandarma School at Foça and also from selected Army instructors. All three companies work under the direction of the army regions to which they are assigned, but can also receive tasking from their headquarters in Ankara. The unit is said to have a lot of Counter terrorism experience from its ongoing operations against PKK.
Special Ops Commander Demands Pentagon Stop Exposing Operations
Gen. Joseph Votel: Publicity makes it harder for forces to do their jobs
BY:*Morgan Chalfant *
January 27, 2016 5:16 pm
President Obama’s nominee to head*U.S. Central Command recently penned a memo to Defense Secretary Ash Carter demanding that the Pentagon stop discussing the operations of elite American*troops.
Foreign Policy,*which obtained an excerpt of the memo, reported that*Gen. Joseph Votel, currently the chief of U.S. Special Operations Command, wrote the December 8 memo to express concern about the Obama administration’s exposure of special operations forces’ activities.
“I am concerned with increased public exposure of SOF activities and operations, and I assess that it is time to get our forces back into the shadows,” Votel wrote to Carter.
While it remains unclear to what public comments Votel was referring, the memo was sent just days after the White House*revealed*that it was sending approximately*200 special operations forces to Iraq to combat ISIS.
According to the defense official who provided the excerpt of the memo, Votel further wrote that publicizing*the operations makes it more difficult for U.S. forces to conduct them. He also “requested the department support him with an approach to avoid public discussion of SOF activities,” the defense official said.
At the start of December, Carter told lawmakers that the U.S. would deploy a*“specialized expeditionary targeting force” to Iraq to fight ISIS. It followed an October*announcement*from the White House that*a small number of special operations forces–less than 50–would be deployed to Syria to fight the terror group there.
An anonymous defense official questioned about the memo told*Foreign Policy*that Carter “shares*Gen. Votel’s concerns about the public disclosure of SOF operations, especially any reporting that could expose our personnel to additional risk and undermine their chances for success.”
He further stated, however, that*the Pentagon is obligated to keep the public informed.
IS militants are Israeli soldiers: Saudi grand mufti
Published: December 28, 2015
Saudi Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz has claimed that the Islamic State (Daesh) militants are Israeli soldiers and the Saudi-led 34-nation military alliance of Islamic countries will defeat it.
The statement came after Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, the secretive leader of the terror group, called for an uprising in Saudi Arabia and pledged to attack Israel, in an audio recording released Saturday and attributed to him, AFP reported.
Obama is of Shi'ite origin: Dubai former police chief
US President Barack Obama is of Shi'ite origin, according to former Dubai police chief and current head of the General Security for the Emirate of Dubai, Dahi Khalfan, who is known for his controversial tweets.
"Obama, who has a Shi'ite origin, was elected to converge between the points of views of Iran and the US to stop the Iranian nuclear military project. The plan succeeded," Khalfan wrote in a series of tweets on his account Tuesday.
He added: "The US elections are led by undercover hands that achieve Israel's security in the first place. Bravo sons of Zion!"
"In Anthroposophy, people study how to ward off danger, and this is what the sons of Zion did after studying the nature of Iranians. They brought them someone of a Shi'ite Kenyan origin. Bravo!"
Khalfan continued: "Will Obama visit Iran before leaving presidency?" "(Hassan) Rouhani could invite Obama to visit Iran".
Video: U.S. Apache Attack Helicopter Follows Behind ISIS Convoy … Doesn’t Fire a Single Shot
Posted on*November 9, 2015*by*WashingtonsBlog
This video from LiveLeak purports to be an Apache attack helicopter following a huge ISIS convoy ofwhite pickup trucks*crossing from Iraq to Syria … and – instead of attacking – more or less “escorting” it across the border:
Source: US Military Chopper Transfers ISIL Leaders from Fallujah to Unknown Location
Tehran(F N A)- Informed sources disclosed that a US-made helicopter has taken several senior ISIL leaders out of Anbar province in Western Iraq to an unknown location.
"A US chopper landed in a farm near the main road linking al-Saqlaviyeh to Fallujah in Anbar province and took off* after one hour with ISIL leaders on board," the Arabic-language Sama Baghdad news website quoted informed Iraqi sources in Fallujah city as saying on Sunday.
The sources noted that several ISIL leaders had gathered in Fallujah farm as if they had been informed of the helicopter's imminent landing in the farm.
In a relevant development on February 13, senior Iraqi security sources lashed out at the US and its regional allies for supporting Takfiri terrorists in Iraq, and said that Washington is the main cause of ISIL's survival in his country
The British-made Accuracy International (AI) family of rifles are regarded by many as the best sniper rifles in the world. Several variants have been employed by UK forces:
The 'Precision Marksman' (PM) was the first variant in use with the British Military. A small number of PMs were first adopted by the Special Boat Service (SBS) in 1985, then in larger numbers by the SAS.*The PM was chambered in 308 Winchester, a commerical cartridge from which 7.62mmx51 NATO was derived. The PM was fitted with a Schmidt and Bender 6 x 42 telescopic sight.
When the Ministry Of Defence (MoD) began looking for a replacement for their ageing fleet of Lee-Enfield L42A1 rifles - a model that had not performed optimally during the Falklands Conflict - they approached Accuracy International to make a military version of their 7.62x51mm NATO target rifle and enter into a procurement competition they planned to run. The resulting design was heavily-based on the PM, with new elements such as a a folding bipod at the forward end and lightweight polymer stock featuring an adjustable cheekpad, monopod stabiliser. The rifle is fed from a 10-round box magazine.
The L96A1 bested designs from renowned rifle manufactures that included Parker Hale, SIG Sauer, Remington and Hekcler and Koch to win the MoD contract. The L96A1 was subsequently brought into widespread UK military service.
The L96A1 design was later improved in the Arctic Warfare (AW) version, which features a 10x42 hensoldt telescopic sight and is hardened against arctic conditions. The L118A1 was fitted with a Schmidt& Bender MK II 3-1250mm scope.
UK forces eventually adopted the AW variant, technically known as the L118A1, although many official sources still refer to it as the L96, probably to avoid confusion with the L118 light artillery gun.
The Arctic Warfare Magnum (AWM), known in the UK military as the L115A1, was chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum. 22 SAS reportedly used the L115A1 to neutralize insurgents during*Operation Marlborough, Baghdad, 2005. Scopes for the L115A1 included the Schmidt& Bender MK II 5-2550mm.
L115A3 Long Range Rifle
An updated L115A1, chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum, the L115A3 entered service with U.K. forces in 2008. The A3 features a detachable sound supressor, all-weather day sights with improved magnification, as well as the provision for mounting night sights. The L115A3 has been fielded by Parachute Regiment and Royal Marines snipers in Afghanistan since 2008.

AW Covert (AWC)
A version with integrated suppressor and folding stock, the AWC, is available for use in covert scenarios. The AWC breaks down into components for carry in a special suitcase and is reportedly in use by the US Special Operations Unit, 'Delta Force', as well as the British SAS. The AWC is designed for use with sub-sonic ammunition.
The L115A3 long range rifle is a bolt-action sniper rifle that is chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum. The L115A3 was introduced as part of the Sniper System Improvement Programme (SSIP), with the first weapons being fielded by 16 Air Assault Brigade in Helmand in 2008. It largely replaces the*L96 and L115A1 sniper rifles*previously fielded by UK forces.
The L115A3 is manufactured by Accuracy International. Among its features are:
chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum (8.59mm) with an effective range of +1,100 metersstainless steel, fluted, 686mm barrelSchmidt & Bender 5-25x56 PM II day scope with 25x magnification.Sniper Thermal Imaging Capability (STIC) night scope mounted forward of the day scope allows for target acquisition at night / low-light conditionsThe weapon can be fitted with a suppressor in order to reduce muzzle flash and noise signature. The stock folds which makes the weapon easier to carry in a backpack.Adjustable cheek-pieces, a stabilizing monopod and an adjustable bipod for improved shooting ergonomics5-round box magazine
In 2009, a British army sniper used a L115A3 to score the longest sniper shot in history when he took out 2 Taliban machine gunners from a distance of over 2400 meters.
The British Are Coming: Heralding the Rise of Accuracy International’s L115A3 Sniper Rifle
4/29/11| by*John Elliott
There are a great many outstanding long-range weapons systems being used by military and police snipers from all corners of the Earth, but, while my personal preferences obviously should be something with the “Made in the U.S.A.” label attached to it someplace, I have to confess that my favorite sniper rifle is manufactured in the United Kingdom. I thought I was in love with*McMillan, and then I had an affair with*Barrett, but my true love is now*Accuracy International. And I could have had my pick of German or Swiss weapons systems, or even a Spanish rifle, but, no, for me it will now always be the Accuracy International L115A3 long-range sniper rifle. In my simple view, it is beyond superb.
U.S. SUPPLIES ISIS THROUGH TURKEY
Published: March 5, 2016
On Friday, March 4th, the leading opposition newspaper in Turkey, Zaman, was*taken over by the Government; and, today, March 5th, one of the other opposition newspapers, Cumhuriyet, reported that Zaman’s separate news-service to other news-media, Cihan News Agency, has now also been disabled on the Internet. (Anyone who goes to the site obtains*an error-message.)
The Turkish Government is trying to prevent the Turkish public from knowing that Turkey has been serving as the transit-route by which the U.S. government and its allied Arab oil monarchies (especially Saudi Arabia and Qatar) have been supplying foreign jihadists and weapons (largely U.S. but paid for with Saudi funds) into Syria to oust Bashar al-Assad from power.
Zaman’s editor has been imprisoned for publishing such prohibited truths, but somehow his newspaper continued reporting on a court case in which Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdoğan is accused of breaking Turkish law by aiding terrorists. That continued resistance by the newspaper might be a reason why the Turkish Government has now (as of Friday March 4th) shut it down.
On March 1st, Cumhuriyet, headlined,*“Former Justice Minister of Turkey: Erdoğan Will Stand Trial,”*and reported that, "Former Justice Minister Hikmet Sami Turk, said that*Erdoğan's actions 'do not comply with the decision of*the Constitutional Court.’ He criticized [Erdoğan] by saying … 'One day this matter must be settled by*the judiciary’.”*
Russian Television had first reported on the case, in English, back on 26 November 2015, headlining,*"Turkish newspaper*editor in court for*'espionage' after*revealing weapon*convoy to Syrian*militants.”*This news-report said that:
In May, the outlet [Cumhuriyet] published photos of weapons it*said were then transferred to Syria by Turkey’s*intelligence agency. … The articles, published on Cumhuriyet's front*page in May, claimed that Turkey’s National*Intelligence Organization (MİT) is smuggling*weapons in trucks into Syria and was caught*doing so twice in 2014. The trucks were*allegedly stopped and searched by police, with*photos and videos of their contents obtained by*Cumhuriyet.
According to the paper, the trucks were carrying*six steel containers, with 1,000 artillery shells,*50,000 machine gun rounds, 30,000 heavy*machine gun rounds and 1,000 mortar shells.*The arms were reportedly delivered to extremist*groups fighting against the Syrian government*of President Bashar Assad, whom Ankara*wants ousted from power.
The Erdoğan government alleged the weapons were "aid to Syrian ethnic Turkmen tribespeople and*labeled their interception by local police an act of*‘treason'*and ‘espionage’.”
Turkey is a NATO member, and the famous investigative reporter*Seymour Hersh had revealed in the 6 April 2014*London Review of Books, that on 20 June 2013 — just a few months prior to the sarin gas attack that Obama blamed on Assad and used as his excuse to invade Syria — the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency reported that America’s allies in overthrowing Bashar al-Assad were engaged in “the most advanced sarin plot since al-Qaida’s pre-9/11 effort,” but the U.S. Director of National Intelligence denied that it was true. One U.S. ally there was Al Qaeda in Syria, known in Syria as Al Nusra, (Nusra and Erdoğan wanted this gas-attack*to provide the excuse that Obama had set as his “red line” to overthrow Assad — a chemical-weapons attack in Syria.) However, Hersh reported, "Last May, more than ten members of the al-Nusra Front were arrested in southern*Turkey with what local police told the press*were two kilograms of sarin.” All of that had occurred prior to the 21 August 2013 sarin gas attack.
Hersh went on:
The officer ultimately responsible for the planning*and execution of the attack [U.S. bombing of Syria] was General Martin*Dempsey, chairman of the joint chiefs. From the*beginning of the crisis, the former intelligence*official said, the joint chiefs had been sceptical of*the administration’s argument that it had the facts*to back up its belief in Assad’s guilt. They pressed*the DIA and other agencies for more substantial*evidence. ‘There was no way they thought Syria*would use nerve gas at that stage, because Assad*was winning the war,’ the former intelligence*official said. Dempsey had irritated many in the*Obama administration by repeatedly warning*Congress over the summer of the danger of*American military involvement in Syria.
Hersh subsequently reported that, rather than go ahead with an operation that the Joint Chiefs considered fraudulent, they sabotaged Obama’s policy. On 2 January 2016, Hersh headlined in the London Review of Books,*“Military to Military,”*and he explained how and why they had done this:
The Joint Chiefs felt that a direct challenge to Obama’s policy would have ‘had a zero chance of success.’ So in the autumn of 2013 they decided to take steps against the extremists without going through political channels, by providing US intelligence to the militaries of other nations, on the understanding that it would be passed on to the Syrian army and used against the common enemy, Jabhat al-Nusra and Islamic State. … General Dempsey and his colleagues on the Joint Chiefs of Staff kept their dissent out of bureaucratic channels, and survived in office. General Michael Flynn did not. ‘Flynn incurred the wrath of the White House by insisting on telling the truth about Syria,’ said Patrick Lang, a retired army colonel who served for nearly a decade as the chief Middle East civilian intelligence officer for the DIA. ‘He thought truth was the best thing and they shoved him out. He wouldn’t shut up.’*
Obama couldn’t be swayed that the enemy were Al Qaeda and other jihadists instead of Assad — that overthrowing him was his top priority. However, Hersh said in his 6 April 2014 article, that Obama had to backtrack at the last moment anyway, because British intelligence reported to David Cameron that the sarin used in the attack didn’t come from Syria — that it had been imported; this implied that it was a set-up job in order to ‘justify’ invading. Cameron didn’t want to be just another Tony Blair. Obama couldn’t get his necessary-for-appearances’-sake public cover for an invasion, Britain, as his predecessor had done regarding Iraq. Hersh went on, in that 2014 article:
Obama’s move for congressional approval quickly*became a dead end. ‘Congress was not going to let*this go by,’ the former intelligence official said.*‘Congress made it known that, unlike the*authorisation for the Iraq war, there would be*substantive hearings.’ At this point, there was a*sense of desperation in the White House, the*former intelligence official said.
Obama, in other words, was now trapped. He couldn’t fire all of his Joint Chiefs — at least not right away; it would be embarrassing, how could he explain it? And the Republicans were eager to expose his Administration’s disarray on the matter. So: the story was passed around that Secretary of State John Kerry got Russia to get Assad to eliminate his sarin stocks. Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin was happy to help Obama avoid invading his Syrian ally. That was how the ‘news’ organizations reported the backtrack — as a rare instance of U.S.-Russian cooperation: good news for everybody. But for Obama, it was actually the way out of a desperately embarrassing situation. And he never gave up his goal of switching Syria from the secular Assad to a failed state whose crucial oil-pipeline routes would be in ‘friendly’ (to Saudi Arabia and Qatar) jihadist Sunni-ruled areas of Syria, so that ‘our’ Arab ‘allies’ (the*jihadist-financiing nations, as even Kerry’s predecessor Hillary Clinton had*known them to be) can grab the world’s largest energy-market, Europe, away from Russia.*
Hersh, in his 2014 article, continued:
The full*extent of US co-operation with Turkey,*Saudi Arabia and Qatar in assisting the rebel*opposition in Syria has yet to come to light. The*Obama administration has never publicly admitted*to its role in creating what the CIA calls a ‘rat line’,*a back channel highway into Syria. The rat line,*authorised in early 2012, was used to funnel*weapons and ammunition from Libya via southern*Turkey and across the Syrian border to the*opposition. Many of those in Syria who ultimately*received the weapons were jihadists, some of them*affiliated with al-Qaida. (The DNI spokesperson*said: ‘The idea that the United States was providing*weapons from Libya to anyone is false.’)
Barring a major change in policy by Obama,*Turkey’s meddling in the Syrian civil war is likely*to go on. ‘I asked my colleagues if there was any*way to stop Erdoğan’s continued support for the*rebels, especially now that it’s going so wrong,’ the*former intelligence official told me. ‘The answer*was: “We’re screwed.” We could go public if it was*somebody other than Erdoğan, but Turkey is a*special case. They’re a Nato ally.’*
There is simply*too much evidence proving that Erdoğan is supporting ISIS and other terrorist groups in Syria. This is the reality of NATO: conquering Russia, first by switching its allies (such as Iraq, Libya, Syria, Ukraine, etc.), is the assignment, regardless of the public’s safety. Even if the U.S. weren’t backing jihadists directly (which we are), we’re backing them by having jihadist governments such as Turkey and Saudi Arabia and Qatar as allies — instead of as enemies. ‘Our’ oil companies and mega-banks are in bed with them, and their top stockholders and executives, and their lobbyists, control the people who control the U.S. Government. The U.S. Constitution’s “We, the People …” has become only* those “People.” The rest are now just for extras in crowd-scenes, at political campaign events — and their mass-mind-control is done by their media, ‘our’ ‘free press’ (who don’t report this reality), in ‘our’*‘democracy’.
Erdoğan is profoundly angry at the unsteady support he has been receiving from the U.S. government in their joint efforts to eliminate Bashar al-Assad. However, apparently, Obama doesn’t feel that the U.S. is yet ready for a nuclear war to be sparked between NATO and Russia — Obama thinks that doing it now would be premature. ‘Color revolutions’ and ‘Arab Spring’ and ‘Maidan demonstrations’, and other populist covers for coups (taking advantage of the local political opposition, which exists in any country), are a far safer way to gradually strip Russia of its allies and turn them into yet-more enemies of Russia — and, only then, can the rip-cord finally be pulled, and Russia be forced to either submit or else die (even if the rest of the world might die also). The U.S. has been doing this boil-the-frog-slowly routine ever since*U.S. President George Herbert Walker Bush laid the foundation for it in 1990.
As John Kerry recently said, when responding to aid workers at a donor conference for anti-Assad forces,*“What do you want me to do? Go to war with Russia? Is that what you want?”*Clearly, Erdoğan is lots more eager for that than Obama is. Perhaps Erdoğan thinks that Putin would just back down. American Presidents, however, aren’t so desperate that they feel they need to do it during their own Administration; they can afford to wait until the time is right, even if the plaudits will then go to some future President. Their paymasters will be duly appreciative of the contributions that each one of them has made toward the final ‘U.S.’ victory. (Victory for the paymasters, of course.)
So, the American government’s*charade*goes on. But already an MIT analysis — the*Lloyd-Postal report*— on the sarin attack that occurred 21 August 2013, stated unequivocally that the Obama Administration was lying through its teeth about the matter. They provided excruciating detail showing why “the US Government’s interpretation of the technical intelligence it gathered prior to and after the*August 21*attack CANNOT POSSIBLY BE CORRECT.” (That’s a tactful, yet passionate, way of saying: “Obama and his Administration were trying to lie this country into invading Syria.”) Yet, Western news-media still simply ignore the evidence (they can do that in this dictatorship), and report that Assad’s forces were behind the sarin attack. It’s still*the official reason why* we’re at war against Assad. Was even George W. Bush worse than this?
Seymour Hersh had tried to get his news-reports on these matters published by what had been his regular publisher, the New Yorker, which turned them down; and he tried other U.S. outlets as well, but wasn’t successful in finding any that would pay his regular charges — and he had already spent much in order to research these matters. Finally, he obtained a suitable outlet, in the LRB. This is why his recent reports are being published abroad.
Anyone who wishes to know more about what motivates the U.S. government regarding Syria should read the astoundingly brilliant article by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., published on an obscure environmental website, February 25th,*“Syria: Another Pipeline War.”*He tells so much suppressed history there, it’s flabbergasting to see it all brought together into one flowing historical narrative — and my checking of the few sources that I hadn’t previously known of indicates that his standards for quality-of-evidence that he builds his narrative on are as rigorous and high as mine are — which is rare. I very much respect that. Every high school student should read his article in order to understand how corrupt the U.S. is at its highest levels. The article is a masterpiece of historical writing. But even a masterpiece can have a flaw: his article plays down the role that leading Democrats after Reagan have been playing in GHW Bush’s long war to conquer Russia. We’re still in the post-Reagan era, just as, between FDR and Reagan, we had been in the post-FDR era. Obama is as rabid a Russia-hater as practically anyone except John McCain would be. If a piece of historical writing is going to be partisan (as almost all are), at least this one is partisan on the less-unacceptable side.
I might write RFK Jr.’s name onto the Presidential line of my ballot in November. There’s someone with favorable name-recognition, who clearly has the integrity and depth, and knowledge, to deal with the rot that has overtaken America, if anyone does. Maybe he could win by acclamation, if he wouldn’t be knocked-off first. But if the idea of writing in his name goes around like wildfire in the weeks before the*November 8th*general election, then who knows what would happen? Certainly, if Hillary is on the ballot as the ‘Democratic’ nominee, I won’t vote for her, though I’m a lifelong Democrat. And I don’t want to be forced to vote for Trump (since he’s almost totally unpredictable — which still isn’t as bad as Hillary). (Besides: Hillary should be in prison for her destruction of crucial public records — State Department emails — to hide her crimes; and The Donald should be in prison for his fake Trump ‘University’ commercial fraud. But the corrupt Obama won’t allow any such prosecutions.) And there’s such beautiful irony here:*“Trump: If Elected, I’ll Prosecute Hillary.”*It’s so much like Ukraine! (Cast Hillary as Tymoshenko, and Trump as Yanukovych — and I’d vote then for Trump, so as to avoid the*near-certainty of disaster.)
But no intelligent American can be justified in simply not voting for President. That would be outrageously irresponsible. I won’t ever do that. Every intelligent and caring person must vote for President — not leave that responsibility to others (which would be unpatriotic — plus wrong and callous — for any well-informed voter). The “anyone but ___” non-voters are mere fools and frauds. They simply don’t care enough about the country to do their most-basic civic duty, which is to become informed and then to vote for someone on that basis (though never as a ‘protest vote’ — the nation is too important for any mere ‘protest’ — but only as a real* vote, for someone who has an authentic chance of winning* the election). Any mere throw-away ‘vote’ is like a non-vote.*
That article by Kennedy should be linked to by all of his supporters: it tells more about the man than any number of campaign speeches possibly could. It proves that he’s fit for the job, if anyone is. That’s one person who doesn’t need to campaign for the job. He’s an outsider whose knowledge and understanding of the subject is probably among the best there is, and whose heart is unquestionably in the right place — which would be a refreshing and radical change, a change that’s of a kind needed now more than ever in the U.S.
But anyway: RFK Jr.’s article is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand the horrendous war in Syria. My article here is just a warm-up to it — and, I hope, a totally non-partisan one.
Washington (CNN)The U.S. Army's elite Delta Force operations to target, capture or kill top*ISIS*operatives have begun in Iraq, after several weeks of covert preparation, an administration official with direct knowledge of the force's activities told CNN.
The official said the group has spent the last several weeks preparing, including setting up safe houses, establishing informant networks and coordinating operations with Iraqi and Peshmerga units. It's the same strategy that Special Operations forces have used in previous deployments to combat zones.
Several Pentagon and military officials declined to discuss specifics of the so-called Expeditionary Targeting Force with CNN.
But Defense Secretary Ash Carter seemed to confirm in comments made at the Pentagon on Monday that the Special Operations forces had begun missions.
"The only thing I'll say is the (Expeditionary Targeting Force) is in position, it is having an effect and operating, and I expect it to be a very effective part of our acceleration campaign," he said during a press conference.
Why Putin has pulled Russia out of Syria
March 15, 2016 1.36pm EDT
Back in September 30 2015, when Vladimir Putin unexpectedly announced the deployment of the Russian air force in Syria, the consensus was that this would prove to be a costly mistake. Critics argued that airstrikes alone would not make any tangible difference to the facts on the ground.
The seemingly endless US-led air campaign against Islamic State (IS) was often cited as proof of this fact – US president, Barack Obama, reiterated this belief in a recent interview The Atlantic, when he said that Russia had “overextended … They’re bleeding. And their economy has contracted for three years in a row, drastically”.
No doubt America’s traumatic experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan were weighing heavily on Obama’s mind when he made this assessment.
Yet, as if to prove his critics wrong, on March 14, Putin abruptly announced his decision to withdraw the main military force from Syria, claiming to have achieved his main objectives there.
From the start, the Kremlin had a minimal set of aims and a maximum one. Minimal objectives were to stabilise the Assad regime which was losing badly at the time. The Kremlin also angled to be recognised as a pivotal player in the Middle East and a global power equal to the US.
Putin’s maximum objective was, however, to transform Russia’s relations with the West after they had been destroyed by the Ukraine crisis. The Kremlin hoped that the common danger from IS would prompt the West to overcome its scruples at dealing with the invader of Ukraine and form a new anti-IS alliance. This was the subject of Putin’s speech to the United Nations on the eve of the opening of Russia’s air campaign in Syria in which he drew a parallel with the anti-Nazi coalition during World War II.
Militarily, Russia closely coordinated its air campaign with the Syrian Army and its allies – including Iran and Hezbollah. The decades-long links between the Russian and Syrian militaries helped – up to 10,000 Syrian officers had trained at Russian and even Soviet-era military academies.
Military progress was at first slow, but the Russians settled on the longer-term objective of disrupting supply routes, storage depots and other rebel infrastructure.
After several months of intense bombing this bore results. Even the weakened and undermanned Syrian Army, along with its Iranian allies and Hezbollah, was able to take advantage and launch a series of successful offensives. In February 2016 they cut off Aleppo rebels from direct supplies in Turkey. They enjoyed similar successes around Homs, in the south towards Darrea (where the anti-Assad rebellion started in 2011) and in Latakia, where the Russians established an air base.
Russian intervention to date has stabilised the Syrian regime militarily and entrenched its position over the core populated areas in western Syria. Its intervention there also dispelled any illusions among opposition groups in Syria and the watching foreign powers that the Assad regime could be removed by military means.
At the same time, a diplomatic process was restarted, aimed at splitting the opposition into two large camps – those admitted to the negotiation table, and those (including IS and al-Qaeda) who weren’t.
A great deal of preliminary negotiation with the US was devoted to drawing up a list of opposition groups and their locations. When the cessation of hostilities was finally announced, both Russians and Americans had a clear idea of who was covered by the ceasefire and where they were.
But unlike America's in Iraq, Russia actually has accomplished its mission.
March 17, 2016 (Tony Cartalucci - NEO) - In what appears to be another carefully planned masterstroke vis-a-vis the US, NATO, and its Persian Gulf allies upon and around the Syrian battlefield, Russia has announced that it is withdrawing its forces after its 5 month long intervention on behalf of the Syrian government in Damascus.
The BBC reported in its article, "Syria conflict: Russia's Putin orders 'main part' of forces out," that:
In a surprise move, Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered his military to start withdrawing the "main part" of its forces in Syria from Tuesday.
He said the Russian intervention had largely achieved its objectives.
The comments come amid fresh peace talks in Geneva aimed at resolving the five-year Syrian conflict.
In a hamfisted attempt to mitigate the impact of Russia's statement, US analysts and commentators among many prominent Western news outlets have attempted to frame the announcement as a 'cut and run' move made by Moscow after decimating US-backed "moderate rebels," and leaving the so-called "Islamic State" (ISIS) mainly intact.
Andrew Peek, a former strategic adviser to the top NATO commander in Afghanistan, admitted in his NY Daily News op-ed titled, "Why Putin's pulling out of Syria: He got what he wanted — which is not what he said he wanted," that ISIS has lost some 25% of its territory during the Russian intervention.
It should be noted that Russia's intervention had begun and ended in a fraction of the time the US has been "fighting" ISIS. The US intervention - a much more lengthy military campaign - had overseen not a reduction in ISIS territory, but the vast and otherwise inexplicable expansion of the terrorist organization before Russia's arrival in Syria.

Are we about to be attacked? Could be!
Given the terrible state of relations between Russia and the west, with the US having paid to foment the overthrow of the elected President of Ukraine, and our ongoing efforts to forcibly overthrow the President of (Russian ally) Syria, with NATO having surrounded Russia (after promising in the 1990's not to do that) and now activating "Missile Defense" systems in Poland and Romania which are capable of shooting down Russian Missiles, have the Russians finally had enough abuse from us? Are they going to put an end to it using the ONLY language understood by the US Government and it's NATO puppets? (The only language the feds understand is Force)
Moreover, no one, in the entire history of human existence, has ever put 40 million people into bomb shelters over a three day period as some sort of "exercise." The entire economy of Russia will grind to a complete halt. The cost and logistics involved in doing this are . . . . staggering!
Here's another POSSIBLE interpretation of the coming "exercise" : What if we're going to be attacked by a full barrage of nuclear missiles, once the Russians have a third of their population safely tucked away in underground bunkers? That could mean sometime very near October 7 or shortly thereafter.
This possibility is interesting when we consider that just days ago, for the first time in US history, there was a national test of the Emergency Alert System, with the specific goal of testing whether or not the President of the United States could address the American people directly within ten minutes of a "national emergency." An inbound nuclear attack would certainly qualify as a national emergency, wouldn't it?
Frankly, right now would be the perfect time for Russia to launch an actual attack.
The US is totally unprepared to protect, nevermind save, any Americans from a nuclear attack. The US halted all Civil Defense programs decades ago. Our citizens don't even know to "Duck and Cover" when they see the flash of an atomic explosion. They don't have emergency food or water stored in basements. They don't have a clue what to do in such an attack, because our government stopped civil defense training decades ago.

Russian Citizens By The Tens-Of-Millions Ordered To Bunkers As Nuclear Subs Reach “Strike Points”
By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Western Subscribers
A dire and foreboding Security Council (SC) report circulating in the Kremlin today states that 200,000 Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) specialists of emergency rescue divisions, with about 50,000 units of equipment, have begun evacuating over 40 million Federation citizens to their assigned nuclear protective bunkers at the same time the Ministry of Defense (MoD) has reported that the Main Command of the Navy (MCoN) has stationed their atomic weapons subs at their “strike points” along both the East and West Coasts of the United States—while Russia media sources are, likewise warning that the “schizophrenics from America are sharpening nuclear weapons for Moscow”. [Note: Some words and/or phrases appearing in quotes in this report are English language approximations of Russian words/phrases having no exact counterpart.]
Moscow prepared for possible nuclear attack.,EMERCOM
Representatives for the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry (EMERCOM) said that all bomb shelters and underground shelters in Moscow meant for the evacuation of people in case of a nuclear attack or other emergencies, "were prepared and will be able to accommodate the entire population of the capital."
"As a result of the introduction of new approaches to civil defense, an inventory of underground facilities of the city was conducted. The Moscow underground facilities will be able to protect 100% of the population of the city," deputy head of EMERCOM of Russia in Moscow, Andrei Mishchenko said
Nuclear Weapons Being Moved from Incirlik Air Base to Romania: Sources
August 18, 2016
TRUNEWS has learned through several media sources that nuclear missiles that are housed at the Incirlik Air Base in Ankara, Turkey, may be in the process of being moved from there to a base in Romania.
Two independent sources told EurActiv.com that the US has started transferring nuclear weapons stationed in Turkey to Romania, against the background of worsening relations between Washington and Ankara.
According to one of the sources, the transfer has been very challenging in technical and political terms.
It’s not easy to move 20+ nukes,” said the source, on conditions of anonymity.
According to a recent report by the Simson Center, since the Cold War, some 50 US tactical nuclear weapons have been stationed at Turkey’s Incirlik air base, approximately 100 kilometres from the Syrian border.
During the failed coup in Turkey in July, Incirlik’s power was cut, and the Turkish government prohibited US aircraft from flying in or out. Eventually, the base commander was arrested and implicated in the coup. Whether the US could have maintained control of the weapons in the event of a protracted civil conflict in Turkey is an unanswerable question, the report says.
US-Turkey relations have deteriorated so much following the coup that Washington no longer trusts Ankara to host the weapons. The American weapons are being moved to the Deveselu air base in Romania, the source said.
Deveselu, near the city of Caracal, is the new home of the US missile shield, which has infuriated Russia.
Nato ships will sink in ten minutes should they attack russia
The number of NATO ships in the waters of the Black Sea today is larger than it was during the days of the Soviet Union. Even during the war with Georgia in 2008, the Alliance and the U.S. did not send so many cruisers, frigates, patrol and reconnaissance vessels to the Black Sea. Today, there are nine of them, but Russian defense officials say that there is nothing to fear. In case of aggression against the Russian Federation, nine NATO ships will be able to stay afloat for a few minutes only.
"In the Black Sea basin, there is Vella Gulf cruiser of the U.S. Navy, French frigate Surcouf, two reconnaissance boats of France and Italy, Dupuy de Lome, and reconnaissance boat of the Italian Navy Elettra," a source said. In addition, an Italian patrol ship, Italian and Turkish minesweepers and a British anti-mine defense ship take part in NATO exercises as well.
The US Military Tested a Tsunami Bomb That Could Rival the Nuclear Bomb
Filed to: PAST PERFECT
We've all seen the destruction that tsunamis can cause. It doesn't play around. But back in 1944, the US military wanted to play around with tsunamis in hope of creating a man made tsunami bomb—basically setting off 10 large blasts in the ocean to create a 33-foot tsunami that would pulverize and drown a city.
New Zealand author and filmmaker Ray Waru discovered these manmade tsunami bombs were set off in the top secret operation of "Project Seal" during World War II. Around 3,700 bombs were detonated during the testing and the tests revealed that a successful tsunami bomb would require "about 2 million kilograms of explosive arrayed in a line about five miles from shore." Not exactly chump change.
Waru told The Telegraph:
"Presumably if the atomic bomb had not worked as well as it did, we might have been tsunami-ing people," said Mr Waru. "It was absolutely astonishing. First that anyone would come up with the idea of developing a weapon of mass destruction based on a tsunami ... and also that New Zealand seems to have successfully developed it to the degree that it might have worked."
Project Seal only lasted about a year and I'm kind of glad it never became a real weapon of mass destruction. We've seen what happens when real tsunami hits, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. [Telegraph via The Verge, Image Credit: Bplanet/Shutterstock]
“New World Order” Is Giving Up On America’s Empire
AUGUST 31, 2016
By Darius Shahtahmasebi
Foreign policy lunatic, architect of the ‘New World Order,’ and personal mentor to Barack Obama, Zbigniew Brzezinski, appears to have abandoned his lifelong dream of a complete, unchallenged American empire. He is now yielding to what he refers to as a “global realignment,” instead.
Some of Brzezinski’s most notable foreign policy achievements to date include brokering the Israel-Egypt peace treaty, actively supporting Poland’s opposition Solidarity movement, providing covert support for national independence movements in the former Soviet Union, and normalizing relations between the U.S. and China. Most notoriously, Brzezinski was instrumental in providing assistance to the Afghan mujahideen fighters who were battling the Soviet invasion (these fighters became the bulk of al-Qaeda and included Osama bin Laden). He was also a strong advocate of NATO expansion in the face of Vladimir Putin’s rise to power in Russia
However, Brzezinski appears to have abandoned his former fears of Russia and has shifted his attitude to adapt to five main developments, which he concedes are redistributing global political power. Namely, these five changes are that (1) following complex geopolitical shifts in regional balances, the U.S. is no longer the globally imperial power it once was; (2) Russia is experiencing the “latest convulsive phase of its imperial devolution,” as he describes it; (3) China is rising steadily and slowly enough so as not to pose an outright military challenge to the U.S. (for now); (4) Europe is no longer likely to become a global power; (5) the violent political awakening among post-colonial Muslims is a belated reaction to years of suppression by European states.
However, Brzezinski still posits that the U.S. must take the lead in realigning this global power structure by “elaborating” on the five aforementioned developments. This suggests that Brzezinski still intends for the U.S. to have the upper hand in all of the world’s future developments. The essence of his argument is basically that even though the U.S. can no longer bully every country on earth, they should at least maintain as much influence in the world as possible.
For example, Brzezinski insists the U.S. can only be effective in the current situation in the Middle East if a coalition is forged that includes Russia and China, two rising powers that challenge America’s monolithic status. However, Brzezinski creates an unrealistic caveat for this to work. He argues:
Earthquakes Off Florida Coast Actually ‘Experimental Explosion’ By U.S. Navy
PUBLISHED JULY 19, 2016
According to the U.S.G.S. the earthquakes people felt off the coast of Florida weren’t actually earthquakes, apparently the U.S. Navy was conducting ‘experimental explosions’ off the coast of Florida.
A reported 3.7-magnitutde earthquake was actually an ‘experimental explosion’ caused by the U.S. Navy, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The explosion was reported just over 100 miles from Daytona Beach off the Florida coast at 4 p.m. Saturday. The Geological Survey reports that 68 people felt the force of the blast.
First Coast News has reached out to Naval Station Mayport but was referred to SURFLANT, the organization that oversees all surface ships off the coasts of the eastern United States.
SURFLANT has not gotten back to us regarding what kind of explosion the Navy employed and what it was for.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal reported a permit from the Fisheries Service for explosions conducted by the Navy was granted from 2013 to 2018 – that shock trials east of Jacksonville could include a 10,000-pound and a 40,000-pound charge.
On June 10, the littoral combat ship USS Jackson underwent a shock trial off the coast of Florida, Defense News reported. The Jackson is stationed at Mayport and is a new class of ship the Navy’s commissioned, mainly to be used in surface combat situations.
In that trial, the Navy set off a 10,000-pound charge just a hundred yards from the ship. It survived.
The final test was scheduled for July 8, weather permitting.
This isn’t the first earthquake that ended up being ruled as an experimental explosion – there was a 3.7 magnitude experimental explosion reported just under 100 miles off Flagler Beach on June 10.
Tsunami Buoy in "EVENT MODE" off New Jersey - Sudden 180' Water Depth Change
Post by Newsroom - Apr 24, 2016
According the the US Government's National Data Buoy Center (NDBC), some type of "event" in the ocean off the New Jersey coast triggered a Tsunami Buoy!
The buoy recorded sudden changes in water depth of fifty-five METERS (180 feet) in a matter of seconds.
Here is what the Buoy recorded:
The red colored area is the "event" which triggered the alert. Below is that same event, expanded to show what actually took place:
As you can see, the water depth was at its "typical" level of 2612 Meters, but at 22:38 UTC, the depth plunged to only 2585 Meters within 15 seconds. That's a drop of twenty-seven meters (88 feet) in 15 seconds! It then skyrockets from 2585 Meters all the way up to 2640 Meters in 15 seconds . . . a change of fifty-five meters (180 feet). That's a staggering change in water depth in such a short period of time.
According to the US Geological Survey, there has NOT been any earthquake in the area which might account for such a sudden, dramatic change in ocean depth.
It is possible that the buoy cable to the ocean floor was snagged by a submerged submarine, which dragged it below the surface, then allowed it to pop-up when it became free, but we're not certain. The US Navy confirms there are no American submarines off the coast of New Jersey, which leaves foreign country subs (Russia, China, North Korea) as a possibility.
Update 8:56 AM EDT -- NASA advises that a small meteor could have impacted the ocean in that area, from the Lyrid Meteor Shower, which peaked last night. Normally, the small meteors from this annual event never make it to the surface of the earth; they usually burn up in our atmosphere before reaching the ground. HOWEVER, it is possible that a small meteor, perhaps the size of a softball, made it to the ocean and, upon impact at 14,000 MPH, would cause quite a localized wave. There is no way to verify this possibility.
UPDATE - 25 April 2016 at 1:35 PM EDT --
The National Data Buoy Center has issued a statement regarding this buoy and our report. According to them, the Buoy involved "triggered Event Mode while it was undergoing routine maintenance." Oh Really?
As shown on the graphics above, the "Event" was recorded at approximately 2238 Hrs GMT. GMT stands for Greenwich Mean Time also known as Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
Here on the east coast of the US, we are four hours BEHIND UTC, which means the Buoy went into event mode at 6:38 PM eastern US time . . . on a Saturday.
‘I stopped Netanyahu from catastrophic attack on Iran’ – Peres’ statement concealed ‘til death
Published time: 1 Oct, 2016 00:47
Edited time: 1 Oct, 2016 02:15
In a statement that was not to be made public until his death, the former Israeli President told Jerusalem Post he stopped PM Benjamin Netanyahu from a “catastrophic” military strike against Iran, at the time the world leaders were engaged in nuclear deal talks.
Israel has been the most ardent critic of Iran’s nuclear program for decades, viewing Tehran’s progress in this sphere as a direct threat to Israel and regional security. For years the country has resisted the P5+1 negotiations on Iran’s nuclear future.
Isreali prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent visit to Moscow and his negotiations with President Putin, for the fourth time this year, has created the impression of failure. Russia and Israel have been developing active cooperation recently in the field of culture, trade and customs and education.
However, Netanyahu's visit to Moscow does look like a failure from the point of view of foreign policy. In an official statement for the press, President Putin spoke about "open" and "constructive" nature of the talks with the Israeli PM. In the diplomatic world, though, when negotiations are held in a friendly and even neutral fashion, they usually say that the talks were held "in a friendly atmosphere." This is something that we have not heard from the Kremlin this time. In other words, there is no understanding between Russian and Israeli leaders.
The main purpose of Netanyahu's visit to Russia was clearly focused on foreign policy issues, such as the regulation of the crisis in Syria and a possible solution to the Palestinian conflict. Israel sees clearly that the civil war in Syria is ending. Netanyahu's visit coincided with a remarkable speech that Bashar al-Assad delivered at the opening session of the newly elected parliament. It is obvious that the question of the end of the war and national reconciliation in Syria is a matter of time. What happens afterwards?
The Eurasian Century is Now Unstoppable
04.10.2016 Author: F. William Engdahl
I recently returned from a fascinating two week speaking tour in China. The occasion was the international premier of my newest book, One Belt, One Road–China and the New Eurasian Century. In the course of my visit I was invited by China’s Northwest University in Xi’an to give a lecture and seminar on the present global political and economic situation in the context of China’s New Economic Silk Road as the One Belt, One Road project is often called. What I’ve seen in my many visits to China, and have studied about the entirety of this enormously impressive international infrastructure project convinces me that a Eurasian Century at this point is unstoppable.
The idiotic wars of the Washington war-hawks and their military industry–in Syria, in Ukraine, Libya, Iraq and now the South China Sea provocations against China–are not going to stop what is now clearly the most impressive and economically altering project in more than a century.
The term “American Century” was triumphantly proclaimed in a famous editorial in Life magazine in 1941 in the early phase of World War II, before the United States had even entered the war, to describe the system publisher Henry Luce saw dominating the postwar world after the fall of the rival British Empire.
The American Century has lasted a mere seven decades if we date from the end of the war. Its record has been one of dismal failure on balance. The industrial base of the United States, the predominant leading industrial nation and leading scientific innovator, today is a hollowed, rotted shell with once-booming cities like Detroit or Philadelphia or Los Angeles now burned-out ghettos of unemployed and homeless.
The Federal Debt of the United States, owing to the endless wars its Presidents engage in, as well as the fruitless bailouts of Wall Street banks and Government Sponsored Enterprises like Fannie Mae, is well over 103% of GDP at an astonishing $19.5 trillion, or more than $163,000 per taxpaying American and Washington is adding to the debt this year at near $600 billion. Countries like China and Russia are moving away from subsidizing that debt at a record pace.
The war in Syria is Headed for Catastrophe, But US Politicians Are Blind
Washington does not possess mature statesmen who know when it's time to back down and negotiate

Let us assume that the US of A and pals are correct and the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and pals are the real culprits of the bloodshed that has been happening for at least 5 years in Syria. Assuming that international law is on the side of the exceptional country and its allies, what can the shining city on top of the hill do to stop this ongoing massacre of Syrians?.
US top officials and think tankers have been saying that in order to stop the bloodbath they need to up the ante and send more weapons to the “rebels” so the SAA and pals start suffering higher “costs”. In other words, they conclude the best way to achieve peace is to wage war, more war.
However, since the beginning of the “rebellion” until now we all have noticed that the SAA is determined to regain control of Syria’s full geography and will not give up this fight. Even less now that powerful pals have come to its aid with sophisticated weapons, tactics and highly trained, ferocious soldiers who prefer to get blown up by their own bombs rather than allowing the “rebels” to stain their glorious uniforms.
So, from my point of view, waging more war against SAA will not end up in peace but in a bigger catastrophe. Some examples?
US Considering Air Strikes On Assad Regime After Top General Warns It Could Lead To War With Russia
by Tyler Durden
Oct 4, 2016 6:58 PM
Now that the gloves have come off in the faux diplomacy between Russia and the US, which yesterday culminated with Putin halting a Plutonium cleanup effort with the US, shortly before the US State Department announced it would end negotiations with Russia over Syria, the next step may be one which John Kerry warned last week is "back on the table", namely the launch of military strikes on the Assad regime.
As WaPo reports, meetings have been going on within US national security agencies for weeks to consider new options to recommend to the president to address the ongoing crisis in Aleppo. A meeting of the Principals Committee, which includes Cabinet-level officials, is scheduled for Wednesday while a meeting of the National Security Council, which could include the president, could come as early as this weekend.
As Reuters hinted last week, at a Deputies Committee meeting at the White House, officials from the State Department, the CIA and the Joint Chiefs of Staff discussed limited military strikes against the regime as a "means of forcing Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad to pay a cost for his violations of the cease-fire, disrupt his ability to continue committing war crimes against civilians in Aleppo, and raise the pressure on the regime to come back to the negotiating table in a serious way." Or, in other words, to cut to the chase and go right back to what the US was hoping to achieve in Syria in the first place: another regime change.
Among the options considered include bombing Syrian air force runways using cruise missiles and other long-range weapons fired from coalition planes and ships. One proposed way to get around the White House’s long-standing objection to striking the Assad regime without a U.N. Security Council resolution would be to carry out the strikes covertly and without public acknowledgment, the official said. In other words, the warhawks in the administration are actively contemplating not only bypassing the White House, but flaunting the UN and launching a sovereign incursions, also known as a war, against Syria.
CLINTON PLAN TO DESTROY RUSSIA
Published: August 31, 2016

Leaked emails are filling in the picture of a Bill-and-Hillary-Clinton plan to destroy Russia — a plan which had originated with U.S. President George Herbert Walker Bush in 1990, and which has been followed through both by his son George W. Bush, and by both of the Clintons, but which has only recently started to become documented by leaked publications of personal communications amongst the key operatives who were the insiders running this operation behind the scenes, and who include Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, George W. Bush, Victoria Nuland, Jeffrey Feltman, Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan al-Saud, Saudi Crown Prince Muhammed bin Salman al-Saud, and the Emir of Qatar.
This operation came out into public view only briefly when the news site Zero Hedge headlined on 6 October 2015 “Saudi Clerics Call For Jihad Against Russia, Iran” and linked to a number of sources, including to a Wall Street Journal report the day before, which simply ignored the Saudi involvement and headlined “U.S. Sees Russian Drive Against CIA-Backed Rebels in Syria”, as if this matter were merely a U.S.-v.-Russia issue, not an issue involving the Saud family at all. By contrast, the zerohedge article closed with “‘This is a real war on Sunnis, their countries and their identities,’ said the statement [by the International Union of Muslim Scholars, which is based in Qatar, whose ruling family, the Thanis, work closely with the Saud family]. It urged the rebels to join a ‘jihad against the enemy of God and your enemy, and Muslims will back you every way they can.’” As a British news-site for jihadists put the matter, “According to experts, by issuing this statement they seek to encourage Saudi, Gulf, and Muslim youths to fight against Russian forces, similar to the recruitment of young fighters during the Afghan-Soviet war.” (That joint U.S.-Saudi operation, which was assisted by the Pakistani military and by Pakistan’s heavily-Saudi-influenced Islamic clergy, was the brainchild of Saudi Prince Bandar and of the born Polish aristocrat Zbigniew Brzezinski, and its success at breaking up the Soviet Union is an enduring topic of pride for today’s jihadists.) On 5 October 2015, the British mainstream ‘news’ site Reuters had called these “Saudi opposition clerics”, and alleged that they “are not affiliated with the government,” but Reuters’s statement (especially that these were “Saudi opposition clerics”) was simply false, and even ridiculously false, likely an outright lie, because Saudi laws don’t allow any “opposition clerics,” especially not Islamic ones, since those would be executed for publicly questioning the legitimacy of the country’s rule by the royal Saud family, which is what an “opposition cleric” in Saudi Arabia would, by definition, be doing, if any of them existed there and hadn’t been executed yet. The pretense, by Reuters, that Saudi Arabia is a religious-freedom country, is an insult to their readership, but this falsehood helps to keep their readership thinking that somehow the West can be allied with the Sauds and yet still call itself ‘democratic’ and allied only with ‘democratic’ governments, not with some of the world’s worst tyrannies. Realism in foreign affairs (such as to acknowledge that some of the world’s worst regimes are our government’s allies) is fine, but it can’t include lying to one’s own public, because that necessarily entails misinforming the voters on the basis of which any actual democracy receives its very legitimacy as being a democracy, which seems less and less what countries such as the U.S. and UK are, at least after 9/11. A “democracy” and a “deceived public” cannot coexist in the same country — and, at least in the United States, a deceived public is what predominantly exists (as a consequence of the many deceiving ‘news’ media).
