Pace is Roman Catholic and was trained by Jesuits at Georgetown University in 1992. He attends the Vatican's "Red Mass" and is a recipent of the Roman Catholic "John Carroll Award. He has been honored at the Jesuit fortress of Washington DC.. Georgetown University, where he graduated from a leadership seminar in 1992. There is evidence that the Jesuits at Georgetown continued to influence his actions. He stated: "Iím proud of my association with the Georgetown Leadership Seminar ó a superb forum for building friendships and promoting dialogue between countries around the world. As a participant in 1992, and more recently, as a speaker in 2003 and 2004, I continue to benefit and learn from the tremendous networking that develops there."
