I think most sane people would understand the colloquialism of my original phrase and not need to question any apparent contradiction.

None and a few are considered the same when compared to a lot. It's the same as saying "Everyone was there." When they mean "lots of people were there"

You know that, so why question it?

If the government of the US did force people to take the vaccination (doubtful) then its for your own good! I could see this becoming an eventuality if the virus was to become more virulent, then stupid people that wouldn't take the vaccine would in effect be deadly carries of the fatal disease, ie - better to be quarantined.

But my personal opinion is that this is all scaremongering by the typical media giants. Swine flu is no more dangerous than the typical common flu. Ofcourse it spreads during the warmer summer months as well as winter (common flu) and it could mutate to a deadlier form, but this is very unlikely.
