Default Greetings and Salutations

Just wanted to say hello, and say a bit about myself.

I've been backpacking since my late teens and don't like to settle down for more than a couple of years at a time, so possessions wise I try to stay light at all times. Same with the mental baggage though that's always a bit more difficult to stay free from in these funny times.

I intensely dislike labels, but try not hate anything, including labels. But labels abound nevertheless.

I'm libertarian minded, socialism, capitalism, and communism wary minded. I can see the good in all of it, yet government seems to grow exponentially in all systems..

In Australia at the moment, and they've just passed new vague counterterrorism laws on top of the last year's slew of under the counter deals amongst themselves.

I wonder if Western "democracy" is finally doomed past the point of repair anymore. Guilty before innocent, high taxes, fines, tariffs, few civil liberties you can actually rely on in a court for a defense... I wonder who is actually winning the war on terrorism. Well, I have a good idea I think...and it's not two opposing factions or idealologies.

Anyway, enough rambling for now. Nice forum you have here, and looking forward to chatting with you all when the opportunity presents itself.

Nex

heh, thanx, though only one foot is happy tonight.

The other took on what looked to be an empty box, and in a fit of fervor, Mr. Right Foot quickly realized that he needed to visit hospital for x-rays.

I come from a long line of temper kicking box peoples. Only boxes, and never people though.

It appears I've disgraced over 3 generations of my line by allowing the box the ultimate win.

A damn fractured foot. lol

Thank you all for the warm welcomes I hadn't expected.

When you live comfortably in your head more so than in your society, being surprised doesn't happen very often.

But this is the net afterall. The boundaries of "right"-"wrong", "good"-"evil" don't so narrowly fit in a properly fitting box.

Reason to celebrate I'm thinking! :-)
