I believe that if the US government shuts down in twenty-four hours, it would more than terrible for the country. It would be devastating to those men and women who serve and fight for our country's freedom.

What are your thoughts if the US government decides to shutdown?

"Federal law bars Planned Parenthood from using tax dollars for abortion. In 1976, three years after the landmark Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion, Congress passed the Hyde Amendment which bars the use of taxpayer funds for abortion except in cases of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother."

What the heck is Jim Jordon talking about?

He believes that the vast majority of Americans don't want tax dollars to take the life of an unborn child.

I think what he meant to say is that he believes the vast majority of Americans don't want their tax dollars used to take the life of an unborn child.

Tax dollars can only be used to fund ABORTIONS in the cases of of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother.

Apparently, he opposes tax dollars being used to fund abortions in the above cited instances.

So, therefore, his comment should not have been spoken as if tax dollars are used to fund abortions under any circumstance because, I am certain that as a representative of the people he should be familiar with the Hyde amendment.

FYI, Jordon, I'm not one of the vast Americans you reference.

I cannot believe that these crooked politicians would use this "Parenthood" issues as an excuse for why they should not fund them. I mean, I know they are a controversial organization. But whether we as a society agree on their premises, they should have a right as well as any private organizations. JMO

We are so deeply indebted to all of our Congress people for learning how to behave like adults and saving all of us from their child-like behavior by reaching an agreement.

Who is going home happy?

The people whose homes where stolen from them by the banking institutions who engaged in illegal lending activity and have no homes to go home to or the principals of the financial institutions who pay their mortgages on their luxury homes from the bonuses that Obama gave to them for engaging in illegal lending practices and the DIRTY money they acquired through their illegal lending activity?
