The show became a tribute with many of Jackson's songs performed by a variety of dancers, singers and musicians .. I will advance the notion that MJ's murder was timed for maximum effect, to increase television ratings!

Just like the wars against Iraq and Afghanistan, were planned well in advance of the 911 attacks, which were used to justify the assault, so were the show ppl in place and waiting before Michael Jackson's untimely demise!

http://www.bigbeartheater.org/pdf_s/FAQsMay2008.pdf .. Cats, a musical composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, has required a minimum of three weeks rehearsal time.

Performers need to be found, fees worked out, and methods of payment established, before rehearsals even get underway, as well the egos of the ppl, whose scheduled performances were cancelled to make way for the Jackson tribute, need to be placated, it all takes time!
