These weapons were recently transferred from the Department of Defense over to the Department of Justice. Why? Because there are several international treaties that specifically limit or exclude weapons of this nature from being used in international warfare.

In other words, weapons that are barred from use against our country's worst enemies (not withstanding the fact that the US did use this weapon against Iraqi troops!) can now be used against our own citizens by the local police departments against such groups as peaceful protestors of US nuclear policies.

So let us ramble for a moment: suppose your friendly local law enforcement officer has this technology in his squad (or should I say, S-QUAD?) car. Would you trust someone with carte blanche use of secret weapons?

I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts that it has been in use for some time in the major metros, like Los Angeles, Manhattan, Miami, and other cities.

Oh, and Wash., D.C., for sure!

Darn tootin'. I'll never see a rodeo the same way again. We also know of the private use for voyeurism, ala Stephanie's Law: if someone puts a peep or an angle on you in your home, you can prosecute under Stephanie's Law, even without audio transmission.
