friggin' "Buckets Beazley" on T.V. tonight suggesting that while we MAY consider that Howard's lying this time, history will tell the story.

WTF ????

Threat alert eroding Howard's credibility: Beazley

Opposition Leader Kim Beazley has questioned Prime Minister John Howard's credibility on national security issues.

Newspaper reports claim Mr Howard's decision to reveal a terrorist threat against the country has created a rift between ASIO and police forces around the country.

the words in the ABC article were pretty well how the news article went.

However, it was a continuous statement on vid, and not in Parliament, but outside, as he met the press.

Wierd.
Contrived theatrics?

Yeah even senior judiciary are now speaking out against the laws.
No-one yet has questioned the dueocracy of silly Oz politics, I dont know why they even bother having elections the way its sett up they should just swap every 7 or 8 years, fucking pathetic.
In britain the new laws have recently been used against some old fart at a public meeting to silence him.
Anti globalisation protesters and those who desire government reform have more to fear, technicly this could be twisted and classified as sedition.

Note the pose of these virilent anti-authoritarian Oz protesters...

- "We must fight for our rights brothers and sisters!"

- "Will their be any beer at the revoloution?"

- "Dont make it to early in the morning, i'm getting pissed the night before".

- "I'm only coming if the surfs shit".

- "Or the footies not on".

That picture sums up the Oz attitude.

Default ANTI-war demonstrators could be jailed for seven years

Doctors caution on terror laws

31oct05

ANTI-war demonstrators could be jailed for seven years under the Federal Government's proposed anti-terror laws, a doctors' body said today.

As the Commonwealth and states negotiate on a final draft of the laws, the Australian Medical Association for the Prevention of War has urged them not to be pressured into supporting the Bill in its present form...

..."A section of the proposed laws would make it an offence for any Australian to 'urge support' for any organisation that the Australian Defence Force happens to be fighting....

..."This means that ... the anti-Iraq war protests could be illegal and all Australians liable for seven-year jail (terms) for expressing opposition to actions of the Australian Defence Force."

Dr Deakin said Australians did not want the country to turn into a police state....

Default Terrorist points finger at Australia

November 17, 2005 - 2:31PM

A chilling video message from one of Asia's most wanted terrorists has singled out Australia for joining the US-led wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A man identified by Indonesian police as Bali bombing suspect and fugitive Noordin Top has also threatened more terrorist attacks and "disaster" unless Canberra withdraws all its troops from the two countries.
