Default What is the Time Limit for a Post?

If you put some thought into a post,
say 45 minutes of typing and thinking,
then press send you will lose the
post. It just evaporates into thin air or
the internet ether - it's gone forever.
It only happened
in the few posts that I have spent
a lot of time creating.
So there must be a time limit.
What is the time limit?
Does anyone else have this problem?
Can the time limit be extended?
To spend a lot of time and thought on a
post, create what you think is a masterful
response and then lose
it is very frustrating.

Hey Rush.

I find the best way to remedy this problem, especially if you know it's going to be a long and particularly brilliant post8-), is to write your post in a word processor program and when you're finished with it, corrected spelling and whatever, you simply paste it into a CC post and voilá!

What happens now is that after you have been logged in past the time limit, you are automatically logged out.

I am not sure what the time limit is, but when you are automatically logged out while you are in the middle of writing a comment, after you have finished and hit the submit button to post it, you will be asked to log in again, and, when you do, your comment will be posted.

It does not evaporate into thin air.

But, just to be safe, if my comment is long, I always copy it before I hit the submit button just in case it might evaporate into thin air.

When you log in, check the
"remember me" box.

Have found the post I make
no longer disappear on me
now that I "check" the
remember me box when logging in.

Early on when I was making posts,
a number of times I had to re-post.

Have not had this problem
since checking the "remember me" box.

Do not know if there is a time limit or what the time limit would be.

The problem mentioned happened to me on the last thread I made.
Not once but twice. Was yesterday.

Previously, I thought I had the happening of it, accounted for in checking the
remember me box. Which worked quite fine. This last time, however, proved
it wasn't infallible.

In a multi-tab browser:
If it has been a length of time, that you've been writing your post,
you can go to the top and open up some other section of the forum
in a new tab.
You will notice you are either logged in or not.
If not logged in - log in - after logging in - go back to the browser tab
where you were writing your post and you should now be logged in.
Press - submit reply - should be okay.

This is a part of my new solution for the being logged out problem.

What you say is the way it goes.

However: once you have logged back in,
your post is not included.

The screen with your post - appears to get lost and
your post is not posted.

I would suggest - if you've been a while writing your post:

opening up a section of the forum in a different tab.
If you find you are not logged in, log in.
Then return to your posting and submit post.
Should be okay.
