Default Need help with recording DVD R

Recently installed Cucusoft program to change dvix avi formatted movies to dvd for my tv, but for some reason it won't recognize a dvd r, it does change it and burns it alright on dvd rw though, how do I get this program to recognize a dvd r.
Or will I first have to get it burned on a dvd rw and then use something like dvd clone to transfer it over to the dvd r?
so far spent two days on this, and am pulling my hair out now, any help is appreciated, I've got a shitload of movies and want to watch them on my big screen.

Sounds like some sort of simple glitch.

Update your firmware for your dvd burner. Go to the manufactureers web site and download the latest version. It's a simple matter.

If this does'nt help then try another peice of software. I use DivXDvd software. I dont have regular access to a computer otherwise i'd e-mail it to you.

See how updating your firmware goes.

winavi is also good. However, the best thing I did was to buy a divx compatible player for the TV. No need to convert anything. In the US, it should cost about US$ 50 (Philips). Amazing...it is the same price as the software.
