Here; this is a description of one of the disorders that plaque those on HIS site and him, as well:
People with narcissistic personality disorder also have difficulty recognizing the needs and feelings of others, and are dismissive, contemptuous and impatient when others share or discuss their concerns or problems. They are also oblivious to the hurtfulness of their behaviour or remarks, show an emotional coldness and a lack of reciprocal interest, exhibit envy (especially when others are accorded recognition), have an arrogant, disdainful and patronizing attitude, and are quick to blame and criticise others when their needs and expectations are not met.
I got a sixty-nine Chevy with a 396
Fuelie heads and a Hurst on the floor
She's waiting tonight down in the parking lot
Outside the Seven-Eleven store Me and my partner Sonny built her straight out of scratch
And he rides with me from town to town
We only run for the money got no strings attached
We shut 'em up and then we shut 'em down
Tonight, tonight the strip's just right
I wanna blow 'em off in my first heat
Summer's here and the time is right
For goin' racin' in the street
We take all the action we can meet
And we cover all the northeast state
When the strip shuts down we run 'em in the street
From the fire roads to the interstate
Some guys they just give up living
And start dying little by little, piece by piece
Some guys come home from work and wash up
And go racin' in the street
Tonight, tonight the strip's just right
I wanna blow 'em all out of their seats
Calling out around the world, we're going racin' in the street
I met her on the strip three years ago
In a Camaro with this dude from L.A.
I blew that Camaro off my back and drove that little girl away
But now there's wrinkles around my baby's eyes
And she cries herself to sleep at night
When I come home the house is dark
She sighs "Baby did you make it all right"
She sits on the porch of her daddy's house
But all her pretty dreams are torn
She stares off alone into the night
With the eyes of one who hates for just being born
For all the shut down strangers and hot rod angels
Rumbling through this promised land
Tonight my baby and me we're gonna ride to the sea And wash these sins off our hands
Tonight tonight the highway's bright
Out of our way mister you best keep
'Cause summer's here and the time is right
This song or part of it was posted while I was on HIS site and I think I wrote lyrics back to the verse that suggests when I was young I sat on my Daddy's porch with the eyes of one who hates being born.
I would say that the line "with the eyes of one who hates being born" is a suggestion and you know to what end.
"If you hate being born so much, why don't you kill yourself then?" Those would be the words spoken back in the day.
I'd say, I'm not sorry I was born. I am just sorry I was born into this family, this filth and that I ever met you, but I'd never kill myself and allow those responsible for my victimization the "easy way out."
That's what was said, as well. It's the easy way out. I said, it's a coward's way out and I'm not a coward. Oh, we can make it easy for you. Show you just where to cut the vein.
Well, go ahead, but I'll never kill myself. The man in the stocking again comes to mind.
If I wasn't going to do it. They'd do it and make it look like a suicide.
I certainly don't hate being born and I certainly will NEVER sit and stare into space. That was an after effect of being traumatized.
The staring off in space is what I was doing and use to do after I returned from torture. It was said I was in a "catatonic state." Just stares off into space. The lyrics in this song, of course, is a suggestion to do just that. Isolation. Shut the world out.
I was somewhat doing that while I was on his site. Remember, when your inside a "cult," isolation from the rest of the world is mandatory. It occurs through brainwashing, mind control, etc. You are afraid to tell anyone about them and this is why in the beginning I began to feel like I had to flee from my family. I knew what was occuring on their site, but I struggled to do what I had to do. MY JOB!!
I also wanted to get away from them. If they could have DESTROYED my marriage and sucked me so far out of reality and into their world and then LEFT ME, I may have really been suicidal or catatonic or institutionalized again. This was their hope.
However, I learned to stay "connected to reality." I know their tricks better than they do.
Although I don't remember which song has the lyrics with a barefoot girl drinking a warm beer on the hood of her car, and didn't even know where it come from at the time, I commented that if you come by my house, I'll be sittin' on the hood of my care barefoot drinking a beer.
That reminds me, there was a barefoot girl poster, as well.
I also commented, tell HIM Wendy's in town. That reminds me, too, there was a Wendy poster, of course.
Certainly, I know why this song was posted.
Read the above lyrics, again!!
Here, he has a partner Sonny and as in many of his songs he reference the PROMISED LAND. This may be another suggestion, such as heaven is waitin' on down the tracks. It's always about going to heaven. How do you get there? We know. You must end your life first, right?
This song is creepy. He met a little girl on the strip in a Camaro. Blew the Camaro off its' back and drove the LITTLE GIRL away.
All of a sudden, she's no longer a little girl. She has wrinkles.
The song jumps from when he comes home to her, the house is DARK, to her sittin' on her Daddy's porch.
Did he kidnap a little girl in this song and somehow she made it back home?
Here we go again, all HER pretty dreams are torn and it isn't HIM who has the sins in this song, it's both of them.
Sounds to me like Springsteen's done some sinnin' in his lifetime according to his lyrics.
I'd agree with that.
Maybe he needs to go down to the river and wash them away.
